Yu Dong smiled upon hearing his response. She said to Master Zhou, "There is no need for you to worry, your daughter is alright. Why don't you follow me? I will bring you to her."

Master Zhou lowered his head. Earlier when he came to the Big River Village he was filled with fighting spirit but that spirit was lost the second he met with Yu Dong.

Why wouldn't it? Even though Master Zhou had never met with Yu Dong before, he had heard all about her. And the things that he had heard were enough to send shivers down his spine.

Even the people who came with him had heard about Yu Dong and her great deeds. Thus, they could not be blamed for glaring at Master Zhou. Why couldn't he clear the matter earlier?

Yu Dong did not care about the little thoughts that these people had. She brought them to the common house which was situated not far from the entrance of the village.

Zhou Jiaojiao was still unconscious and lying on a makeshift mattress made of bamboo which was nice and cool.

"Jiaojiao!" Though Master Zhou was scared of Yu Dong, he was still a daddy. When he saw his daughter lying on the floor without moving, he got worried and rushed over to her side.

It was only when he saw that she was breathing, did master Zhou heaved a sigh of relief.

He turned to look at Yu Dong and said in a somewhat reproachful voice, "Madam Yu, I know that my daughter was in the wrong. But why did you have to beat her until she was almost out of breath?"

Yu Dong rolled her eyes. She walked over to where the woman was lying and kicked her on the shin. No sooner did she kick the woman, than Zhou Jiaojiao yelped and sat up straight.

"Oww! Oww!!" Zhou Jiaojiao screamed as she clutched her ankles. She raised her head and looked at Yu Dong who was standing in front of her and shrunk her shoulders.

She rubbed her right hand that was stomped on by Ye Liu, even though it was treated, it was still quite painful.

However, the ointment that Doctor Gu used was enough to make her relieved.

Everyone who came from the Zhou village glanced at Zhou Jiaojiao and then at Yu Dong. Simultaneously they lit up a candle for Zhou Jiaojiao in their hearts. This woman— she truly was bold.

It was fine that she teased and taunted mers at their village but how dare she actually try and dig the corner of Yu Dong? Was she finally done living?

"Dong Dong," when Village Head Gu saw that the mess was related to Yu Dong she was worried but at the same time, she was relieved. If this mess was related to Yu Dong then she didn't need to worry about anything.

As Yu Dong would take care of it.

Yu Dong turned to look at Village Head Gu who tentatively asked, "What's going on?"

"I want to know this too," Yu Dong shrugged, with her arms crossed in front she glanced at Zhou Jiaojiao with a cold gaze causing the woman to stiffen. "This woman has been harassing my husband for quite a while. I want to know who she is and why she is causing trouble for my husband."

Village Head Gu frowned. She turned and looked at Zhou Jiaojiao before asking, "What are you doing, Zhou Jiaojiao? Why did you come looking for Master Ye?"

Zhou Jiaojiao bit her lower lip harshly. She glared at Ye Liu blaming him for her situation but as soon as she turned to glare at Ye Liu, he was glared down by Yu Dong whose glare was even more intense than hers.

"I—I just wanted to talk to him," Zhou Jiaojiao replied to Village Head Gu.

"Pah! Don't lie, you have been harassing Brother Liu for a long time," spat Chen Mi as he looked at Zhou Jiaojiao, he looked down on this woman who had been causing trouble for Ye Liu.

Though they had no proof, they knew that she was invited by Gu Mo to cause trouble for Ye Liu.

That shameless mer thought Chen Mi angrily.

"It is good enough that we are not sending your daughter to Yamen," Shen Li said to Master Zhou who had opened his mouth to fight for justice for his daughter. "Not only did we not go to the yamen but also had her treated, are you really sure that you want to escalate this matter?"

"We don't mind inviting the yamen officers and have them take care of this case."

When Zhou Jiaojiao heard that they were going to send her to the yamen, she was so scared that she immediately wanted to run away. She hated Ye Liu and she also hated Gu Mo. Because of these two mers, her life had taken a turn for the worse.

However, even though she wanted to shift the blame on the heads of these two mers equally, Zhou Jiaojiao knew that she couldn't push the blame on Ye Liu. Thus, she shifted the blame to Gu Mo and begged, "Please forgive me, Madam Yu. I did not want to come to your village at all, nor did I have any intention to harass your husband. It was Gu Mo."

"That mer paid me and asked me to harass Ye Liu, I was just doing what he asked me to. Please let me off this time, I will not do this again," Zhou Jiaojiao begged Yu Dong and Ye Liu. As she spoke she glanced at Village head Gu.

Village Head Gu was helpless as well. However, when she thought about Zhou Jiaojiao's little daddy who was a matchmaker, she turned to look at Yu Dong and said to her, "Madam Dong…"
