Chapter 75: Chapter 75: The Furious Dr. Banner
Xi gently shook her head, her soft voice carrying an undeniable firmness.
"Mora, becoming a servant is my wish."
"Sigh..."
Mora sighed helplessly, knowing that Xi's decisions were never easily changed.
Basa snorted disdainfully. "Since you're back, I'm leaving. Take your time with it!" He gestured toward Blonsky.
"Kid, come with me and have a fight."
His eyes gleamed with battle-hungry excitement.
Blonsky immediately looked troubled. Basa had become his combat instructor, and Xi was the grand steward of Hell. He couldn't afford to offend either of them.
Mora's face turned red with anger, just as she was about to say something, Xi spoke up.
"Blonsky, you may leave. You've worked hard these past few days."
Xi's words were like a reassurance pill, making Blonsky sigh in relief.
Basa's smug smile hadn't lasted long before Xi coldly said, "Basa, you are responsible for handling the demon toilets."
"Why?! Are you trying to use your authority in Hell to suppress me again?"
Basa exploded in rage, his face twisting into a vicious grin.
Previously, he had helped because he knew what Xi wanted to accomplish. But now that she hadn't succeeded, he had no reason to continue following orders.
"Is this enough proof for you?"
Xi's lips curled into a faint smile as she slowly pulled out a necklace from beneath her clothes.
The necklace was ordinary, but the blue ring attached to it shone like the most brilliant gem from the deepest ocean.
"This is... the ring..."
Basa's voice went dry, his facial muscles stiffening as if frozen in place. His eyes locked onto the ring.
Of course, he knew what it was. In Hell, the women belonging to the King all possessed such a symbol of status.
"Xi, this was given to you by His Majesty!"
Mora's eyes sparkled with excitement. She reached out her hand, wanting to touch the ring that carried such immense significance.
"Yes."
Xi responded with a gentle smile before carefully tucking the ring back inside her clothes, treating it as the most fragile treasure in the world.
She shielded it with her hands, her gaze filled with affection, as if only by keeping it close could she feel at ease. To her, this ring was more precious than life itself.
Failing to touch the ring, Mora didn't mind. Instead, she excitedly said, "Xi, then you succeeded!"
"I never said I failed, and I will always be the young master's servant."
Mora was momentarily stunned before understanding Xi's words. She knew Xi's inner thoughts and her unyielding devotion.
Mora sighed lightly, her eyes filled with understanding and affection. "I understand you, Xi."
Basa, however, had no idea what they were talking about.
But he did know one thing: challenging the grand steward of Hell was one thing, but challenging the King's woman was a surefire way to die.
Silently, he returned to the desk, took the toilet project files, and walked away with a dejected expression. The once arrogant and domineering Basa was now like a defeated rooster.
Blonsky hurriedly followed, not wanting to stir up any more trouble.
Mora, uninterested in them, eagerly pried into Xi's affairs.
"Xi, tell me, how did you do it? His Majesty likes you..."
"He likes me very much. He especially likes to hold me..."
"That's thrilling."
On this day, Kino arrived at a towering skyscraper. The magnificent building gleamed under the sunlight, with its glass walls reflecting dazzling light.
A demonic emblem hung at the top.
Demon Corporation.
With steady steps, he entered. Inside the spacious and well-lit lobby, the receptionist was a beautiful blonde woman.
Upon seeing Kino, a flash of reverence and awe crossed her face before she knelt on one knee.
"Greetings, Leader."
Everyone in this corporation was from the Assassin's League. They were well-trained, disciplined, and followed Kino's orders without question.
"Take me to see Ra's al Ghul."
"Yes, Leader." The receptionist respectfully complied and led Kino to the elevator.
Beside the elevator, she skillfully opened a hidden panel and pressed a button, causing the elevator to descend.
The upper floors were merely a façade for the outer employees. The real core of operations lay underground—the true headquarters.
When the elevator doors opened, Ra's al Ghul was already waiting respectfully.
"Master." Ra's al Ghul bowed slightly in greeting.
"How is the company progressing?" Kino asked as he stepped out of the elevator.
"All facilities and factories are in place. We are ready to begin producing the serum and hold a press conference."
Ra's al Ghul responded efficiently.
"Good, let's see how Dr. Banner is doing."
Kino nodded in satisfaction, inwardly acknowledging Ra's al Ghul's reliability.
The two of them arrived at a laboratory surrounded by a crowd, most of whom had some form of physical disability.
Without disturbing them, Kino walked over to a window and peered inside.
Inside, Dr. Banner was conducting an experiment. On the operating table lay a man with amputated legs.
"Are you ready to embrace your new life?" Banner asked with a sinister grin.
"Yes, Doctor," the man replied nervously. He had won this opportunity through sheer luck, beating out his fellow candidates.
"Don't be afraid. I've already tested it on lab mice. Just take a nap, and you'll be fine."
With that, Banner injected a sedative before administering a blue serum.
In no time, the serum began to take effect. The man's healed wounds cracked open, and two infant-like feet emerged.
Banner's eyes gleamed with excitement as he attached various monitoring devices to the new limbs.
"The nervous system is connecting, bones are growing, and there are no vascular abnormalities. I did it! Hahaha!"
Banner laughed maniacally, while the onlookers outside the window screamed in astonishment.
"Doctor, it hurts... My legs... grew back?!"
The subject suddenly awoke, staring in shock at his regenerated feet.
Banner frowned. The serum's effects had overridden the sedative.
As the man cried out in both pain and wonder, staring at his feet without blinking, Banner rubbed his temples in annoyance.
Rummaging through the table, he grabbed a large iron rod.
"D-Doctor, what are you doing?!"
The man stammered, his face turning pale with fear.
