Harry Potter: BE a GOD

Chapter 406: Chapter 406: The Duel

Morris was hiding atop a tall tree, silently recuperating his superpower.

Just now, David had managed to resist the grenade by transforming in time, and the combined attack from both sides by the pentapod had indeed taken him by surprise. However, Morris wasn't particularly anxious.

Because his teleportation ability actually allowed him to teleport four times in quick succession. The reason David had seen only three times in the replay was that against ordinary enemies, usually, three teleports were enough to defeat the opponent.

Not far away, the pentapod was entangled in a fight with David's transformed giant wolf.

The pentapod looked like a giant gorilla with five legs, covered in brown-red fur, its torso and head almost fused together, and a face full of sharp teeth looked quite frightening.

Ordinary pentapods are only half the height of a human, but this one was over two meters tall, each of its hairy legs as thick as elephant legs, making the giant wolf transformed by David seem somewhat diminutive in comparison.

Pentapods are already very dangerous and aggressive creatures. After being mutated by magic, they became even more ferocious, almost completely irrational, attacking any living being on sight.

Fortunately, although the giant wolf was huge, it was very agile. It escaped from the pentapod's claws several times and even bit back a few times. However, the pentapod's fur was much tougher than that of the giant wolf, and David's bites only left a few shallow wounds on its body, causing no significant damage.

David quickly realized this and decided not to continue entangling with the pentapod, planning to shake it off first.

But Morris didn't plan to let David leave so easily. Estimating the recovery of his superpower, feeling he could perform two more consecutive teleports to handle emergency situations, he pulled out a large-caliber sniper rifle from his seamless expansion tactical backpack. After taking aim, he pulled the trigger.

Just as David had pushed away the pentapod, preparing to turn and run, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a flash ahead, was startled, and twisted his body, but was still hit by a bullet in the shoulder. His body stumbled, almost falling over, and the pentapod behind him pounced, biting into his forelimb.

With his movement hindered, Morris certainly wouldn't stop at just one shot.

David roared, desperately dragging the pentapod, swinging it in front of himself.

"Bang!" As expected, another bullet hit the pentapod, causing it to roar in anger. David then pulled his arm out of the pentapod's mouth, stood up straight, and with a powerful effort, flipped the pentapod over like a crab.

Morris was surprised at the strength David had after transforming but was pleased because, as is well-known, the pentapod's underbelly is its weak point, almost unprotected by tough fur, very soft.

He aimed the sniper rifle again and fired, intending to drive David away while teleporting above the pentapod, dropping two high-explosive grenades.

In the competitive mode of the simulation, killing the boss counts as a win.

"Boom! Boom!" After two explosions, a large chunk of flesh was blown off from beneath the pentapod. It screamed sharply and struggled violently but didn't die immediately.

Morris was about to drop two more grenades when David suddenly pounced from the side.

Morris frowned, threw the two grenades at David, then teleported away, but David had already reduced his size by half, into a half-human, half-wolf werewolf form. He picked up the shield again, knocked the grenades towards the direction where Morris reappeared.

Morris was surprised and teleported again, resorting to his machine gun to strafe at David, but the latter seemed to anticipate his move, turning back swiftly, slamming the shield into the ground, and once again blocking those bullets.

Morris snorted, understanding David's intention was to use the shield as cover, creating a safe angle to prevent being outflanked by continuous teleports.

Even so, what could it do? Morris's teleportation ability was said to be derived from a magical creature known as the Sphere Evasion Bird, with extremely fast activation, similar to a flash in games. Even if David faced him and fired, Morris was confident he could teleport away.

Now that his teleportation ability had nearly fully recovered, with three consecutive teleports available, he didn't believe David could actually hurt him.

Thinking this, he teleported above David, dropped the last grenade, then without looking, teleported again behind the shield, ready to fire, but was astonished to find no one behind the shield.

At that moment, a furry paw suddenly stretched out from behind a nearby tree, gripping his neck like lightning.

Morris instinctively tried to teleport, his body's remaining magic disappearing instantly, but he remained in place, swung hard by David and smashed to the ground.

"Bang!"

Morris was dazed, struggling to breathe as if his throat was crushed, his mind in chaos, not understanding how David had appeared in that location or how he had predicted his teleportation point.

David pressed his knee against Morris's throat, pulling out a dagger from his tactical belt and pressing it against Morris's neck.

"Your teleportation distance is fifteen meters, always sticking to this limit, probably fearing being too close might not give you time to react. But repeatedly using the same attack pattern, if I guess where you might appear, I can roughly determine your position."

"After planting the shield in the ground, I ran behind that tree while the shield blocked your line of sight. Your teleportation ability is strong, but it seems you can take objects in contact with your body along with you, yet you can't carry something as heavy as a person, so if I touch your body, you can't teleport."

Morris realized it was a matter of experience; David's combat experience was far richer than his.

"Cough cough, but how did you guess I would teleport to that position?" Morris was puzzled.

"Elena's ability is the Ghost Wolf; she can turn invisible, very fast. Her combat style is similar to yours, always liking to flank," David said.

Morris remembered the brown-skinned woman who had been with David; she must be the one referred to.

"Alright," Morris sighed, "I lost."

David smiled, removed his knee from Morris's neck, about to say something, when suddenly, the ground trembled, and a huge figure rushed over, the pentapod, looking very pitiful, had turned over, its eyes locked on Morris, the one who had bombed it.

Since the "Holographic Simulation" actually involves inserting the user's consciousness into the mind network, once started, it cannot be exited at will.

To exit the simulation, besides meeting the win or lose conditions, one must also not be in a combat state, as it could cause memory confusion. If one fails to distinguish between reality and simulation in the face of real monsters, thinking of exiting could be disastrous.

Unable to exit easily, David naturally did not wish to fail the simulation. Seeing the charging pentapod, he instinctively ran to the side, firing several shots at the pentapod, trying to attract its attention.

But the pentapod was fixated on Morris, intent on devouring him.

David was stunned but then saw Morris struggling to get up

, trying to flee. That scene momentarily reminded him of another team member.

Even knowing it was just a simulation, David roared and charged again, pulling something from his backpack and throwing the entire pack into the pentapod's open mouth.

He was then swallowed whole by the charging pentapod.

The next moment, "Boom!"

The pentapod exploded into a rain of flesh, Morris watching the "Winner, Morris!" in the air, momentarily bewildered.
