Harry Potter: From Muggle Cousin to Conceptual Archmage

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 The News of Enrollment, the Owl Messenger!

"According to the content recorded in the books sent to me by that not-so-smart wizard named Mr. Diggory, your avid fan. Children with magical talents born in the UK and Ireland will all go to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the age of eleven.

And the headmaster of this school, Albus Dumbledore, is the one who sent you here and left a clear letter about ten years ago."

Dudley Dursley explained to his cousin in an orderly manner and comforted him at the end, "Don't worry, Harry!

Even if no one informs you to go to the wizarding world to learn magic, I won't let you study in a chaotic place like Stonewall High School with low teaching quality."

"Cousin Dudley, I got it. Thank you!"

Harry Potter felt a warmth in his heart, and all his worries and gloom about the future completely dissipated.

Cousin Dudley has always been intelligent, fond of reading, strong, gentle, and easygoing. Growing up with him, he has been better to Harry than a real brother.

Even when Harry experienced magic power eruptions and inadvertently caused some unexpected events that ordinary people couldn't imagine, making those around him regard him as a monster, Cousin Dudley never looked at him differently because of this. Instead, he cared more about Harry and actively guided him to get familiar with this miraculous power.

If we ignore the slight alienation and disgust that Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon have always had towards him, then his childhood might probably be considered perfect!

Harry shook his head and, according to the method his cousin had taught him, got rid of all the unpleasant thoughts from his mind.

Then he cheerfully caught up with his cousin's pace and curiously bombarded him with a series of questions, asking some detailed questions he had asked before or hadn't asked before, enjoying it tirelessly:

"Cousin Dudley! Is your Mr. Diggory the strange person who bowed to me and took off his hat in the store?"

"Yes, it's him! After he saluted you, I caught up with him and asked him the reason. He told me that you are the the Savior, the boy who lived, and a star in the wizarding world. He admires you extremely.

Later, I made an appointment with him. I exchanged some exercise books with your signature for quite a few basic books about wizards and magic. He was very willing and happy, and even gave me some magic coins called Galleons."

Dudley Dursley was eating beef jerky and patiently answering Harry's questions.

The calm and composed temperament shown in his every gesture had nothing to do with an eleven-year-old child. He was more like an elder who had seen the world but still retained his passion.

But his cousin Harry Potter and his parents, the the Dursleys, never realized this.

Because in their eyes, Dudley has always been like this, so innately talented, so extraordinary.

"Cousin Dudley! Can your headmaster, Dumbledore, ride a motorcycle? A flying motorcycle! I've always dreamed that I was on a flying motorcycle and flew for a long, long time!"

"Oh, Harry! I don't think you should associate a man over a hundred years old with this extreme sport. Even if he is the greatest wizard of the 20th century in the book, but with only nine years left in the 20th century, he's old, isn't he?"

"Is the flying motorcycle just a dream of mine?"

"No, maybe someone else on a flying motorcycle brought you here back then. Dumbledore is a headmaster. He must have some underlings, right? Just like me and my Dudley Gang, maybe he also has something like a Dumbledore Army."

"Can Dumbledore box too, just like you, cousin Harry?"

The journey wasn't far. Dudley and Harry chatted as they quickly reached their destination.

That was Number 4 Privet Drive, a spacious two-story building where they had lived together for nearly ten years.

It was around eight or nine o'clock in the morning; it was still early.

A gray-brown owl, clutching a yellowed letter, flew from the side and accurately dropped the letter into the mailbox in front of the house.

"Harry, I think your admission letter has arrived!"

Dudley watched the round-faced, chubby Scottish owl. Excitement sparkled in his eyes but then disappeared, replaced by a gentle and friendly look.

"Chirp, chirp, chirp..."

Dudley made the sound of calling, attracting the attention of the owl messenger that was about to fly away not far off.

This owl messenger didn't want to pay attention to the Muggle at first. It was still thinking about going back to the Owl Post Office at Hogwarts to have a couple of voles!

But its sharp big eyes caught sight of the delicious beef jerky that Dudley was holding high in his hand, and Dudley still had most of a bag of such beef jerky in his arms.

"Goo goo..."

Unable to resist the temptation of food, the owl messenger changed its flight path, took a detour, and flew straight towards the beef jerky in Dudley's hand.

Seeing this, Dudley's eyes and eyebrows curved. He held the Smelting stick in one hand to provide a perch for the owl messenger, and very generously took out pieces of beef jerky from the packaging bag under his arm with the other hand and fed it attentively.

The owl messenger was served very comfortably, and its wariness gradually disappeared. Its sharp beak kept gulping down the beef jerky.

It didn't even resist when Dudley reached out to touch its wings and the feathers on its back.

"Squeak!"

As the saying goes, 'Caution is the parent of safety.' If you're not careful, you'll end up in trouble.

But the owl messengers in the British wizarding world obviously haven't heard the wisdom from the mysterious Eastern country and easily fell into Dudley's hands, like losing out in a minor situation.

At this moment, Dudley threw down the Smelting stick and the bag of beef jerky and firmly grabbed the owl messenger with both hands.

The poor owl messenger, driven by fear, became manic and struggled violently in Dudley's hands.

"Harry!" Dudley called softly.

"Yes! Cousin!"

Harry, who was standing next to him, instantly understood what his cousin meant. Immediately, he stretched out both hands and aimed at the constantly swaying owl messenger from a distance, then began to concentrate and consciously mobilize the magic power in his body.

"Be calm... Be quiet... Relax... We mean no harm..."

As Harry mumbled, an invisible magic emanated from his hands and enveloped the manic owl messenger.

This poor owl messenger actually slowly calmed down, stopped struggling and moving around, and let Dudley hold it firmly.

"Good boy! Good owl!"

Dudley laughed.

As he laughed, he said to Harry, "Go and get your admission letter and have a look!"

Don't go inside the house. Stay here. We'll go in after we finish reading this.

Harry was startled for a moment, then he understood what cousin Dudley had in mind.

This was to prevent Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon, who hated magic, from stopping him from reading the letter.

Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon had always doted on cousin Dudley and indulged his every whim, except when it came to things related to wizards and magic.

Harry quickly walked to the mailbox and found the letter made of yellowed parchment that had been delivered by the owl messenger just now among several letters and bills.

Breaking the wax seal with the emblem composed of a lion, a badger, an eagle, a snake, along with other letters and decorative patterns, Harry Potter saw without any hitch the admission letter sent to him by Hogwarts.

"Cousin! It's really a letter from Hogwarts! They want me to start school on September 1st. I also have to buy a wand, teaching supplies, a pet, and first-year textbooks... I need to reply before July 31st!

How am I supposed to reply to the wizards at Hogwarts? Oh, right! Cousin, you've already caught the messenger!"

Harry lowered his voice and excitedly recounted to cousin Dudley what he had read in the letter, his joy beyond words.

But after the excitement, Harry suddenly thought of something and his mood couldn't help but drop.

"Cousin... If I go to Hogwarts, I won't be able to go to school with you anymore."
