Chapter 6: Otto, The Green Bishop, Says—Are You Messing with Me?
"Yes, this is indeed a very unique place. If I get the chance… I'll definitely come back to watch again."
After sending her message, Fu Hua took a deep breath and refocused her mind on self-cultivation.
Meanwhile, Hokuto put away his phone, only to hear the system notification chime in his ear.
[Congratulations, Host, on successfully completing your first live stream.]
[Based on the stream's popularity, you have been rewarded with 2,800 Crystals!]
A post-stream reward?
Hahaha, not bad at all!
After doing some quick calculations, Hokuto realized that including the Crystals he had earned mid-stream, his total haul from this session was 3,920 Crystals.
Not to mention the small amount he had collected from clearing story missions—his total had already exceeded 4,000!
If he could earn this much every day, then he'd basically have enough for a ten-pull every day, with extra to spare!
The rewards were incredibly generous—this system was actually proving useful.
Feeling pleased, Hokuto savored his little victory before packing up his construction tools and brushing the dust off his clothes, getting ready to start his shift.
But the moment he turned to leave the warehouse—
A group of Valkyries appeared right in front of him.
Most of them were wearing the standard-issue Immortal Blades combat suits, their faces hidden behind uniquely designed masks.
But among them, one stood out.
A woman dressed in an elegant maid uniform, her alluring figure enhanced by black stockings and polished leather shoes.
It was Rita Rossweisse.
"Vice Captain Rita, Captain Durandal has been acting kind of… strange today. I don't know what's up with her, but something feels off."
"Oh? Gossiping about your superior behind her back is quite impolite. If you don't have a proper reason… I might just have to punish you on behalf of Lord Otto~"
Rita stopped in her tracks, a charming smile still gracing her lips.
But despite her graceful demeanor, there was an unmistakable pressure in her voice—one that immediately made the Valkyries tense up.
The two gossiping subordinates exchanged nervous glances before instinctively huddling together in fear, as if worried they'd be disciplined right then and there.
After all, as the vice captain of the Immortal Blades, Rita certainly had the authority—and the strength—to do so.
Hokuto, on the other hand, watched them coldly, unimpressed.
It wasn't like he had any grudge against these Valkyries.
It was just that they treated him—the lowly temp worker—with the same dismissive attitude.
Like regular employees looking down on contract workers.
They didn't think much of each other.
So he had no interest in their little conversations either.
Rolling his shoulders to loosen up, Hokuto simply walked past them.
Right as he passed, Rita happened to say—
"So she was distracted during training? That's odd… Captain Durandal isn't the type to lose focus. Alright, I understand now."
As she spoke, she casually flicked her gaze toward Hokuto as he passed by.
With her keen senses, she had already noticed him watching them earlier.
At first, she had suspected him of being a spy from Anti-Entropy, here to gather intel.
But after seeing him walk away so indifferently?
She let go of the thought.
"Vice Captain, that man… was he spying on us?"
"Yes, I noticed it too."
Just as Rita had dismissed her suspicions, her two subordinates whispered a reminder.
"Perhaps he's simply curious about Valkyries."
Rita reassured them before speaking in a thoughtful tone.
"More importantly, figuring out what's on Captain Durandal's mind takes priority. If you notice anything, report it to me. Perhaps we can uncover something valuable."
"Understood!"
The two Valkyries saluted and accepted the mission.
But their curiosity about Durandal's distraction got the better of them, and they couldn't help but ask—
"Vice Captain Rita, what do you think is causing this? Could it be… romance?"
Rita's lips curled into an amused smile.
The idea of Durandal being distracted by a man was absolutely ridiculous.
Later That Night—Hokuto's Dormitory
After grabbing dinner at the employee cafeteria, Hokuto returned to his dormitory to shower and change.
Lying down on his simple bed, he started planning out how he could squeeze in more game streams during work hours.
There was no helping it—streaming was just too profitable. Giving it up would be an absolute waste.
Besides, there wasn't much going on at work right now.
His only task was repairing the Schicksal Airport facilities that Kiana had wrecked during the last battle.
As for Otto?
The Archbishop was currently busy with other matters and had no time to supervise.
This was the perfect chance to stream!
Hmm… I still have a few thousand Crystals left. Tomorrow, I'll roll for Herrscher Bronya's weapon.
Sure, one ten-pull on the weapon banner was a gamble.
But as long as he pulled something useful, it'd be worth it.
For a new account, having a strong character and decent Stigmata made a huge difference in progression.
With that thought in mind, Hokuto yawned and dozed off.
Meanwhile, At Schicksal Headquarters…
A blonde-haired Valkyrie pushed open the doors to the Archbishop's office.
"Lord Otto."
"What is it, Durandal? At this hour, you should be in the training room honing your combat skills. If you've come here, I assume you have something to report?"
At his desk, a golden-haired man sat in front of a computer, fingers flying across the keyboard.
Classified documents flickered across the screen as he swiftly scanned through them, his attention fully locked onto his work.
He was so focused that he didn't even look up at the approaching Durandal.
Only after he had finished reviewing the last batch of documents did he finally turn his head toward her.
Letting out a tired sigh, Otto asked,
"Well? Why aren't you speaking? If you have nothing to say, then leave."
As the Archbishop of Schicksal, he was constantly swamped with work.
On top of that, he had to keep an eye on Kiana in Sky City.
He barely had any time to spare.
Durandal knew this, which was why she got straight to the point.
"Actually… I believe I may have discovered another Herrscher."
The moment those words left her lips, Otto's hands froze mid-typing.
Another… Herrscher?
"Durandal… You are not the type to joke around."
Otto finally put down his work, turning his full attention to the captain of the Immortal Blades.
His gaze sharpened.
"Report everything you know immediately. Depending on the credibility of your information, I will decide on the necessary countermeasures."
