HI3: I Don't Want to Be a Valkyrie

Chapter 132: Chapter 39: Replenishing the Void

"Rozaliya, Cellinia..."

Liliya, Ram on her back and Rem by her side, followed her perception of where Rozaliya was heading. Along the way, they took care of some more witch cultists before encountering Rozaliya and Cellinia.

"Liliya, you've found survivors?" Rozaliya rushed toward her sister, gazing at Ram on Liliya's back and Rem beside her.

"Yes, they might be the only ones left," Liliya nodded.

"That seems about right. We've already searched other areas, but found no other living members of the Oni Clan. Just countless witch cultists in black robes," Rozaliya observed Ram and Rem on Liliya's back, her gaze lingering with a mix of curiosity and wariness.

"Indeed. Lady Rozaliya encountered a self-proclaimed priest among the cultists. They were incredibly powerful, but you still managed to crush them," Cellinia watched Rozaliya with clear admiration, practically a devoted fan of her elder now.

"A priest... That explains how such foes could be so formidable."

While Liliya and Rozaliya were talking, Rem was also looking carefully at Rozaliya in front of her.

Then, Rem was surprised to find that Liliya and the Rozaliya in front of her looked just like herself and her sister Ram—identical to each other.

Then... the color of their hair was also... one pink, one blue. What a coincidence.

This made Rem deeply curious about Rozaliya and Liliya.

-

"What's wrong with her?" Cellinia asked, her gaze shining with curiosity and concern as she looked at Ram on Liliya's back.

"It's her horns—the ones on her head were severed."

"Ah... that..." Cellinia's knowledge of oni-related matters was admittedly limited.

"Well," Liliya continued, her eyes flitting to the nearby houses that were now almost entirely consumed by fire, "let's focus on clearing out all the witch cultists first. Then we can leave this place!"

"Right..."

Timed Mission: Rescue the Oni Clan twins, eliminate the Witch Cultists (Completed)

-

An hour later, after seeing the mission's completion screen, Rozaliya and Liliya finally breathed a sigh of relief.

There was also a hint of surprise; they had initially thought they would need to revive Ram to complete the mission. They didn't expect that defeating all the cultists would suffice, even if he remained unconscious.

Still, it was a good outcome. They had instantly earned 300 crystals, along with numerous experience chips and Valkyrie fragments.

After distributing the ability and mechanical experience chips to Rozaliya and Liliya, each girl leveled up once more.

-

After ensuring everyone had gathered, Liliya was about to decide to return to the town when she noticed Rem looking sadly at the village nearby. Liliya fell silent.

"Let's find a place to bury all the fallen members of the oni clan," Liliya said, directing her words at Cellinia, Savage, and the others.

"... " Upon hearing Liliya's words, Rem, who had been holding her sister, shot a surprised glance at her. She never expected Liliya to suggest such a thing.

"Thank you," Rem couldn't help but whisper in a voice so soft only she could hear it.

"... Yes," Cellinia and the others were also taken aback but nodded. They turned to begin preparing, looking for a suitable place for the burials.

Though not densely populated, the oni village still numbered in the hundreds. Burying each individually would have been too cumbersome.

After selecting an appropriate site, Rozaliya unleashed a Ultimate Attack on the ground, creating a long trench hundreds of meters wide. She intentionally controlled her power to form the trench, ensuring it was exactly two meters deep throughout.

The others simply needed to arrange the bodies neatly in a straight line.

Once all the bodies were laid in the pit, Rozaliya took out her Great Sword. In less than ten minutes, she had successfully buried them all.

Though it was a simple and crude method, it was far better than leaving the bodies unattended. Rem and her sister could return to pay their respects if they had the time.

Quest: Provide Magic for Ram

Quest Description: Dehorned members of the oni clan gradually die as their body's magical energy diminishes, with a lifespan of mere minutes.

Quest Requirement: Periodically provide magic to Ram until leaving this world.

Quest Reward: 20 crystals

Friendly Reminder: The host's honkai energy can replace magical energy.

-

After leaving the oni village, Rozaliya and her companions returned to the town. Once they delivered the jungle giant's commission, they earned 3,000 gold coins.

Then, they found a tavern where they decided to stay temporarily.

-

As Liliya and Rem settled Ram on the bed, a bounty quest was triggered.

Staring at the quest before her, Liliya fell deep into thought.

It was Rem's voice that finally brought Liliya back to reality.

"L-Liliya...sis, is everything okay? Is there...is there something Rem can help with?" Rem asked, noticing Liliya's blank stare fixed on Ram.

"No...no, it's nothing, just feeling a bit drowsy," Liliya replied, shaking her head calmly. Her body was once again beginning to feel heavy with sleepiness.

"Drowsy? Then you should go get some rest, Liliya-sis! I'll take care of Ram. Don't worry about her," Rem suggested, seeing how tired Liliya looked.

"Hmm, but before that... I need to top up Ram's mana first! Otherwise... she might be in danger." Liliya's eyes remained fixed on Ram lying on the bed.

"Top up her mana?" Rem echoed, puzzled. However, her eyes quickly widened in understanding.

She watched as Liliya deliberately cut her finger and then placed it into Ram's mouth.

Mana transfer...

This was indeed a method to transfer mana, albeit not as effective as fluid exchange...

As time passed, Ram's complexion gradually became rosier, no longer as pale and lifeless as before. Seeing this change, Rem couldn't help but feel overjoyed.

When Liliya felt it was enough, she carefully withdrew her finger, which instantly healed itself.

Having successfully replenished Ram's magic, it seemed as though some clarity had returned to her mind. Her eyelids fluttered slightly before gradually opening fully.

"Sis."

Beside the bed, Lem watched Ram awaken and, overcome with joy, immediately embraced her sister tightly.

"Rem...?" Ram blinked, bewildered. Still dazed from her ordeal, she struggled to comprehend what had transpired. A splitting headache plagued her, and her body felt incredibly weak and drained.

After several long moments, Ram finally began to recover her senses. As she glanced at Lilya, memories surfaced—just before losing consciousness, this young woman had saved Lem, and now it appeared she had saved Ram too.

"I couldn't fully mend your horn," Lilya explained, "but I should be able to periodically replenish your magical energy..."

"Thank you..." Ram hastily expressed her gratitude.
