Chapter 14: CH 14
In the next instant, Ais Wallenstein's golden eyes flickered with surprise as she stared ahead.
In the vast, open space of the dungeon, a lone young man moved swiftly through a swarm of monsters, dodging and weaving with agility that seemed almost inhuman.
In his hand, he wielded an unsheathed samurai sword—its blade flashing with streaks of yellow lightning as he darted between the towering beasts.
"What a powerful boy… Is he a newly advanced Level 5 or Level 6 from another Familia?"
The voice of Finn Deimne, the Pallum captain of the Loki Familia, broke the silence as he watched the scene with curiosity.
The others beside him—Riveria, Bete, Gareth, and the Amazon sisters, Tiona and Tione—nodded in agreement.
Even among adventurers, few could fight so many monsters simultaneously with such ease. Yet none of them had ever heard of this boy before.
Surrounded by Monsters
In the clearing below, the number of monsters continued to grow.
More than thirty Minotaurs, alongside hundreds of killer ants, poisonous lizards, and other beasts, had gathered, their eyes glowing with primal hunger.
Despite his speed and strength, Su Hai found himself beginning to feel the pressure. He could dodge the attacks, but the sheer number of monsters limited his movements.
At the same time, he sensed the presence of Ais and the other adventurers watching from afar, their gazes heavy with curiosity.
Realizing that it was time to finish his training exercise, Su Hai adjusted his stance.
Loki Familia Prepares to Intervene
From above, Tiona tilted her head with a hint of concern.
"Captain, that interesting little brother looks like he's starting to struggle!"
"Should we help him out?" Tione added, gripping her double-bladed axes tightly.
Finn narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.
"As fellow adventurers, we can't ignore someone in trouble. Let's move in and—"
Su Hai's Fire Release - Fireball Jutsu
Suddenly—
"Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu!"
Before anyone could react, Su Hai jumped into the air, soaring nearly five meters above the swarm of monsters.
His hands moved rapidly, forming a series of intricate seals. Taking a deep breath, he exhaled—
A massive fireball, over five meters in diameter, roared into existence, radiating searing heat as it hurtled toward the ground.
The moment it struck—
BOOM!
A shockwave of fire and heat exploded outward, engulfing the monsters below in a blazing inferno.
Flames roared across the clearing, reducing more than one-tenth of the horde to ash within seconds.
Reactions from the Loki Familia
The watching adventurers paused in astonishment.
"Fire magic… and that power…!" Tiona gasped.
"Looks like we won't need to interfere after all," Gareth rumbled with a chuckle.
"But that spell… The speed of his casting was abnormal," Riveria noted, her green eyes narrowed in thought.
Unlike most magicians, who needed time to chant spells, Su Hai had released his magic almost instantly, without uttering a single word.
"Was that… sign language magic?" she muttered, recalling ancient techniques rarely seen in modern Orario.
Such methods allowed magicians to unleash powerful spells without chanting, giving them a critical advantage in battle.
Thunder Breathing – A Storm of Lightning
As the last embers of the fireball faded, Su Hai landed lightly on the ground.
Before the remaining monsters could regroup, he shifted into a stance—his right hand gripping the hilt of his Nichirin Blade.
Yellow sparks of electricity danced along the blade's edge as Su Hai inhaled deeply—
"Thunder Breathing: First Form—Thunderclap and Flash, Sevenfold!"
In a burst of yellow lightning, Su Hai vanished—
Reappearing a moment later with his sword cutting through a Minotaur's chest, leaving a trail of flames in its wake.
Before the other monsters could react—
"Second Form: Rice Spirit!"
Su Hai spun, slicing through three more beasts in a single fluid motion.
"Third Form: Thunder Swarm!"
Flashes of lightning burst outward from his blade, striking the monsters around him with electrifying precision.
"Fourth Form: Distant Thunder!"
A yellow streak shot across the clearing, severing limbs and horns as Su Hai moved faster than the eye could follow.
The Final Strike – Seventh Form: Flaming Thunder God
With the last of the forms prepared, Su Hai gathered his strength—
Electricity surged through his entire body as he crouched low, channeling the power of Thunder Breathing's Seventh Form—
"Seventh Form: Flaming Thunder God!"
Launching forward like a bolt of lightning, Su Hai carved a path through the remaining Minotaurs, his blade engulfed in flames as each strike left a trail of burning ash in its wake.
As he came to a stop, the final Minotaur collapsed behind him, flames consuming its massive frame until nothing remained but a pile of ash and a glowing Magic Stone.
Aftermath
Silence fell over the dungeon floor.
All that remained were the faint crackles of lightning fading from Su Hai's sword and the shimmering Magic Stones scattered across the ground.
Su Hai let out a slow breath, allowing his heartbeat to settle as he surveyed the aftermath.
Applause and a New Meeting
"Clap, clap, clap…"
A slow round of applause echoed through the clearing as footsteps approached from behind.
Turning, Su Hai found himself face-to-face with the members of the Loki Familia—their eyes filled with curiosity and admiration.
Stepping forward, Finn Deimne lowered his spear with a smile.
"That was quite the display, little brother. Truly impressive swordsmanship—and that magic was something else entirely."
Pausing, he added, "We're from the Loki Familia. My name's Finn, and I'm the captain of this group. We just finished an expedition and were on our way back when we heard your fight. We were about to offer help, but… it seems we underestimated you."
An Unexpected Gift
Before Su Hai could respond, Tiona jogged over, holding a spare leather sack taken from one of the supporters.
"Here! Looks like you need this. We brought plenty, so take it!"
Su Hai glanced down at the scattered Magic Stones covering the ground, then nodded with a faint smile.
"Thank you. My name is Su Hai. I'm a member of the Hestia Familia."
Taking the sack, he quickly began gathering the Magic Stones, knowing that every piece was valuable.
Reactions from the Loki Familia
The group exchanged surprised glances at his words.
"The Hestia Familia?" Bete repeated, brow furrowed. "Never heard of anyone that strong from that Familia before."
"Isn't Hestia that goddess with no Familia members until recently?" Tione added, tilting her head in confusion.
"She must've hit the jackpot with this one," Gareth remarked, stroking his beard with a grin.
Finn's Interest
Finn, however, remained silent, observing Su Hai with thoughtful eyes.
"A new adventurer capable of fighting Minotaurs single-handedly… And that sword technique combined with magic… This boy could become a force to be reckoned with."
After a moment, he stepped forward and extended a hand toward Su Hai.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Su Hai. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of each other in the future."
Taking the offered hand, Su Hai shook it firmly.
"Likewise, Captain Finn."
Though their meeting had been brief, Su Hai could sense that this encounter would not be their last.
After all—
In a world filled with gods, heroes, and monsters—
Connections with the strongest could lead to unimaginable opportunities.
