Chapter 39: Go to Home

"It's a pity that I had to leave Nobu in that forest, the kid has two quirks, and that's worth a lot. I needed to save my people, I could not do anything against the Junta. I don't know if the guy abandoned us, got lost, or was captured by the Junta." Bucephalus thought to himself, adjusting the sleeve of his white shirt. He asked his man to dispel the small illusion of a blue tattoo, and now all the colors of the padma were visible on his forearm, including black. Bucephalus and his men came to the cartel's estate - his estate. Black Lotus, Burma Bull, Bucephalus... These were the aliases he was known by in Myanmar.

-What do you have?- Bucephalus asked the informant.

-Several field commanders, the name of the initiating general of the operation is still unknown.

-Then we'll start from the bottom. Wait until they leave the military base and kidnap them." He gave the order to his men. "This is war, let them think that we swallowed it. We need to find out if the old men did this or if a new upstart daddy's boy decided to prove himself." Gabido, being the youngest among the other generals, received this position from his father, of course he had a military education and little experience in waging war, and his enemies continue to underestimate him. "We also need to increase the security of the poppy plantations. This is the heart of the cartel, they will not dare to attack here." Firespitter and Triss (the man who animates the trees) immediately went to rest, while Bucephalus needed to settle the layered problems of the cartel. He started to get a migraine from this.

But Bucephalus is not easy to break, he has conquered the body and spirit with his quirk, so fatigue, endurance, pain are nothing to him. It is as if Ki fed him from unknown reserves, and like a tireless warrior he continues to move forward. He received a call from one of the timber camps, some bandits, hearing about the weakness of the cartel, considered this the best time to attack for profit, Bucephalus gathered his strength into a fist and went to crush the skulls of his enemies. With him stood his people, subordinates tested by years and once his teachers. Seeing this, Bucephalus only strengthened his determination: "The cartel will stand, my friends and subordinates are with me. It's time to show fangs."

In parallel to this, recruitment was carried out and many who wanted and hated the Junta were allowed to be tested. Among them, most were useless (garbage) quirks, of course, even the most useless quirk can be developed, but is it worth the effort? Probably not. While the cartel fighters were trying to get some of the general's field commanders to leak information, Nobu almost died of malaria. He was lucky to get a vaccine that was in the doctors' warehouse. Perhaps it is worth skipping the symptoms of malaria, they are unpleasant. "For several days in a row they conducted surveys, where I was from, what languages I knew and some other little things, but after Gabido found out that I had recovered, we went to another place, he called it a secret place."

Immediately after leaving, it became known that one of the commanders who was conducting the operation was captured by an unknown group, and his convoy came under fire. In general, everyone survived, their goal was definitely to capture the commander. Nobu really didn't care where he was being taken, after such an illness he was glad of any rest. Gabido ordered to find out who was behind the capture of the commander, and when they finished with Nobu, it was necessary to conduct an operation to save his man. And he had his own plans for Nobu. From the questionnaires he handed out, Gabido found out all the information about him, except for his quirks. "It remained a mystery how the Japanese got to Myanmar, maybe it was his connections from the secret services who tried? Maybe this is a loyalty test? Well, teleportation is a rare ability these days, so it's not an impossible scenario."

The most interesting thing is that Gabido noticed the quirk column. The person was required to describe it in a few words. Nobu put a dash, he didn't want to report it, which is quite logical. Nobu saw the sea when their car drove onto some pretty impressive pier, where a barge was waiting. He assumed that this barge was for him, for him to return to his homeland was the best gift from Gabido. As soon as it became known that Nobu would get on a Japanese ship through this barge, he began to thank Gabido. Gabido was happy, but he was ordered to put Nobu on this particular barge, which should then dock at the port, where Nobu would transfer to a Japanese ship.

"You'll thank me if you never return to this land again," Gabido quipped. And it was true, the country was cruel and unfriendly, chaotic, she even doubted whether the capital's care centers in Myanmar worked to help children in such situations. And so, the barge set off from the shore, and on it was a small crew of armed guards and a couple of sailors. Piracy is not uncommon on this river. Nobu saw how the barge was transporting sand on a truly industrial scale. "I wonder what industry uses so much sand? All I know is that they mix sand with gravel and mortar to get cement, and cement is used everywhere."

Finally, Nobu could forget about the shootings and it seemed safe everywhere, deep down he knew that this was a false feeling, but how he wanted to be in peace and quiet, away from the shelling, at least for a couple of days. He often forgot that he was still a child, with all these hardships among adults. "How evil adults are. I don't want to grow up."

That's it. All children dream of growing up, so that they would be considered equal, but this child, from what he saw, did not want to be among that cruel world of adults. Where violence is constantly manifested, where no one thinks about people. Nobu no longer even knows what is good and what is bad. Is it good to kill for survival? And if for the sake of saving others, does something change? He hopes that someone will answer his many questions. So he fell asleep.

The serene waves beat against the side of a small ship, which was approaching a city, beyond which there is an ocean. Somewhere there were Japanese islands, his family - Nezu, he did not consider the rest as family. No mosquitoes, no bullets, no slavery will stop him. Nobu spent all the time on the barge alone, dangling his legs from the deck and wrapped in a blanket.

He watched the sky, then the nature, people sailed by on their popular fishing kayaks on the rusty water. The locals used fishing rods. At first, Nobu thought that people were looking at the barge only because of its unusual appearance, but it turns out that they were looking at the barge with admiration, seeing in it the pearl of Myanmar, its treasure and national heritage. In history, the first people always founded powerful civilizations in the floodplains of rivers, where they had access not only to fresh water, but also fished and traded.

Nobu is glad that he made the right decision in relation to the Junta. Not only did he survive, but he will also be able to get out of this country. He hoped that it was safe.

So he dozed off, barely twitching from changeable dreams of a cruel nature, where his bloody hands destroy enemies, kill people. He sincerely did not want to do this and greatly regretted each killed one, this pity also had to be killed in himself, because this feeling was the strongest weakness.
