Hogwarts: I can see Magic Paths

Chapter 15: Chapter 15 - Returning Home

While Professor Flitwick didn't have time to help them, not that they were counting on it in the first place. The old professor did point them to an area where they could practice as well as a few "Secret" clubs they could potentially join. Only either they were rejected outright or in a nicer way such as the club members yet to see promise in them to allow them to join.

So, ignoring them Felix decided to practice with Angel and John at the base of the clock tower. It used to be the arena of an underground dueling club about a century back and is still used from time to time. It was also during this time, Felix learned Angel is the most nimble and flexible among them. While John was more stationary and his own worst enemy since he seemed to be indecisive in choosing spells during the duel.

Felix himself was more average in dueling. He wasn't good but wasn't bad either. When he trained with Angel he could trade spells, and when he practiced with John. Once more he trades spells, almost forming a fifty-fifty stalemate with his opponent. Which means if his opponent is good then he is great, but if his opponent is bad, so is he.

Now after a few weeks of dedicated practice and opening up a small shop at Hogwarts for the Reading Glasses to increase one reading speed and Light Pens. Felix was now on the train heading home with Angel and John, while in his pocket were quite a few coins in them.

'If I open up shop a few more times I should make enough for the next four school years.' Felix thought to himself.

While he doesn't have many of each enchanted item on hand due to the limit of materials and time. They were fairly popular among the students with the glasses especially within Ravenclaw. After reading faster, they are able to finish homework or read more books with them.

"You sure cover most of your bases with this." Angel said, looking at a pamphlet of Felix's products.

Currently there are only two things, but in the future he will have more and update the pamphlet which will notify others. Since Felix charmed the pamphlet to update so they are up to date on what is for sale. However, on that pamphlet was also various prices and different versions of those products. From cheap glasses that will wear off in about a month to those that will last centuries or forever if they are well taken care of.

It was just those that last centuries weren't cheap and Felix felt only more of the rich purebloods will be able to afford them. Since the current price is more than what the Firebolt will be in the future. Which also means if he gets an order for one or even one that will last ten years, he basically got enough to carry himself through school.

"I thought it would be convenient for comparing prices." Felix said with a shrug. "Short term it is more expensive, but long term it's cheaper."

"Still, why did you give us the double reading speed glasses when there is an option for 128x speed?" John asked.

"Well, that would be a bit overkill." Felix replied. "Even Headmaster Dumbledore only wants one that allows him to read seven times faster that will last three years."

"The Headmaster bought a pair." Angel and John said surprise. "Couldn't he just make a pair himself."

"He might be a knowledgeable and powerful wizard, but that doesn't mean he knows everything. If I give him the blueprints to make them then he could, but he also supports students' activities as long as they aren't harmful." Felix replied honestly. "Granted, he only is testing the water and if he likes them, by the time they expire he might buy a better pair."

"Still it's amazing, the Headmaster is a customer of yours." Angel gushed.

John and Felix lightly rolled their eyes at Angel rambling about it. They knew she was a big Albus Dumbledore fan, while not as bad as obsessive fangirls for idols or movie stars. The Headmaster was basically her idol as she tends to lose her words or freeze up when Dumbledore strolled by or chatted with Felix.

While Dumbledore may just be a bit cautious due to his last name, Felix felt the old man was just worried about him sprouting a prophecy. Since he is considered a seer and demonstrated it a few times before. For if he did sprout a prophecy, it would probably most likely contain something related to Voldemort.

"So you guys have any plans over Christmas?" Felix changed topics.

"I am going to hang out with my grandfather and father while showing my progress in Transfiguration." John replied. "Also meet my brother's girlfriend since he seemed to have managed to capture the one he had his eye on."

"Hanging out with my parents and maybe visiting my uncle Charlus." Angel replied. "What about yourself?"

Felix thought for a moment. "I probably will just hang out with my father and maybe visit Mr. Granger."

What he didn't mention was probably the rounds of doctor appointments due to missing them for the last few months. Which will be a pain due to him over using his gift in the last month to finish the various books for his professors. The other issue due to William being busy at work since this time of year he tends to become very busy.

"Did you guys hear about the scandal within Ravenclaw? Apparently Gilderoy Lockhart has caused quite a stir." John said. "He claimed to have mastered the second year's spells, but nearly burned down the entire common room."

"Is this before or after stating he will create the Philosopher's Stone? He also stated he would make one before he graduates." Angel snorted in annoyance.

"Making a Philosopher Stone huh. I wonder which route he would take to achieve it." Felix hummed to himself.

Felix felt like he got whiplash at how fast his two friends whipped their heads in his direction. Then he began to wonder why they whipped their heads at him and gave him such a look. A look he couldn't tell what they wanted to convey to him.

"Route?" John asked.

"You know how to make the legendary stone." Angel questioned.

"A few, but making it is very tricky and while many envy the Elixir of Life and turning metals into gold. I feel It's better just to use the stone as a power source for some large scale projects." Felix replied. "I thought about making a few as your Christmas Gifts, but my practical ability and resources are lacking at the moment. Not to mention gifting a couple rocks seems kind of rude, so I changed my gift."

"I would take this rock any time." John stated. "I would use the Elixir for my grandfather and father."

"I would also use it for my parents. They aren't very young." Angel said. "I just find it hard to believe you know how to make the Philosopher's Stone. Others spend a lifetime trying and the only known creator is Nicholas Flanel."

Pulling out his journal, Felix flipped to a certain section where he listed various ways to create the Philosopher stones and benefits and issues one may have if made a certain way. He could just use his path system to create the most perfect version of it, but even at a quick pace it would take a few years.

Upon seeing the data and having spinning eyes at the complex and dense writing, Angel and John just handed it back. They couldn't understand it, for while they could understand the words, but when together. It was a jumble mess, much like Hagrid feels when Felix would stop by for materials.

"I meant to ask you this, but how do you know so much?" Angel asked.

"Yeah," John nodded. "You know some weird magic that even older students don't know."

"It's an innate magic gift of mine." Felix replied with a shrug.

Angel and John just gave him a look, but Felix could only shrug as it was true. It was his magical gift or talent, so even if others are skeptical, he could only shrug. So they soon moved on to a different topic as they waited for the train to arrive at their destination.

When the train finally arrived at their destination, Felix stopped his friends on the platform. Where he soon pulled out wrapped presents and handed it to each of them.

"While it is a few days before Christmas, I will hand you your presents now. Access to owls is a bit tricky where I live so I just give them to you now. For when you open it, that's up to you."
