Hogwarts : Max Level Unforgivable Curse

Chapter 18: **Chapter 18: The Frightening Pride of a Young Wizard**

Dylan was in Professor McGonagall's office, asking numerous questions about the magical studies he had been delving into.

Professor McGonagall even provided him with answers to some of his questions about magic beyond just Transfiguration.

**[Message]**: Your proficiency in Transfiguration has increased! Current progress: 35%!

Dylan glanced at the panel.

His proficiency had increased by 0.5%, now reaching 3.5/10, and he was on the verge of advancing to level four.

Dylan had gained considerable insight into how to perform Transfiguration spells on inanimate objects.

As long as it didn't involve living creatures or Animagus transformations, he could now easily and convincingly use Transfiguration spells on inanimate objects.

Of course, to transform something, he first needed to understand it thoroughly.

Only by mastering the principles and structure of an object could he freely use Transfiguration spells on it.

It wasn't as simple as saying he wanted to transform something and then magically achieving a perfect transformation.

If he didn't understand the structure of the object, even if he could transform it, he would only be able to create a superficial "form" based on his impression of it.

For example, if he transformed an apple into an alarm clock without understanding the internal workings of an alarm clock, he would end up with something that looked like an alarm clock on the outside but still had the core of an apple inside.

After Dylan left, Professor McGonagall rubbed her stomach.

"That young wizard certainly has a lot of questions…"

She got up to grab a bite to eat, but as she walked, she couldn't suppress the smile on her face.

"Still, I've guided another student into the hallowed halls of Transfiguration."

After leaving Professor McGonagall's office, Dylan headed straight to the Great Hall.

By now, many young wizards were already seated and having lunch.

There were less than two hours left before afternoon classes began.

Plenty of time.

As soon as Dylan entered the Great Hall, he noticed two people waving at him.

It was Harry and Ron.

Beside them, Neville, who was too shy to raise his hand, was staring at him eagerly.

Dylan walked over.

"Wow, Dylan, you're amazing! You earned our house a full 10 points in Transfiguration class!" Ron exclaimed excitedly.

He then glanced at Hermione, who was sitting nearby eating her lunch.

"Unlike some people who brag about how great they are but only managed to earn 5 points."

Hermione shot Ron a glare, then looked at Dylan before lowering her head and continuing to eat.

"Hmph!" Ron tilted his head back proudly.

Dylan: "…"

He shook his head. "Whether it's 5 points or 10 points, they're all points for our house. It's better than earning no points at all or even losing points."

Ron stiffened at those words.

Hermione, on the other hand, almost couldn't hold back a laugh.

She glanced at Dylan, who had already taken his seat, with a hint of surprise.

Harry looked at Ron, who had fallen silent, and then at Dylan, who had started eating.

He quickly tried to lighten the mood. "After class, did you go ask Professor McGonagall some questions, Dylan?"

Ron also turned to look at him.

Dylan nodded. "Yes, I had some questions about Transfiguration. I wasn't sure if my understanding was correct, so I went to ask her."

Harry was impressed. "You're learning so fast, Dylan."

Ron, after holding it in for a while, finally blurted out, "And you've got a sharp tongue too!"

Dylan smiled helplessly. "I'm just stating the facts. Whether it's 5 points or 10 points, it's all good for our house. We're a team, and there's no need to compare. Points aren't what's important—self-awareness and happiness are."

Ron looked puzzled. "How can points not be important? They determine whether we win the House Cup at the end of the term!"

Dylan shook his head slightly and didn't say more.

Ron was still too young, and it was normal for him not to understand certain things.

There was no need to bombard him with big life lessons right now.

Ron pouted. "It's a shame I can't even get a matchstick to budge. Neville and Seamus can already turn matchsticks into iron rods!"

He gloomily stabbed at the vegetables on his plate with his fork.

"And that teacher is so strict!"

Dylan immediately knew that Ron was still upset about Professor McGonagall scolding him and Harry in front of the whole class that morning.

From the perspective of someone who had lived two lives, it really wasn't a big deal.

But for a young wizard with a strong sense of pride and competitiveness, it was hard to let go.

Ron continued to mutter.

"We weren't late on purpose. That stupid staircase went crazy and sent us to the fourth floor."

"And then that weirdo Filch chased us like a madman."

"Honestly, you have no idea how hard Harry and I had to run to make it to class on time!"

After a moment of thought, Dylan swallowed a piece of well-done beef and spoke calmly.

"Hey, Ron, I know you're upset about being scolded by Professor McGonagall, but I have to say, everything she said was for your and Harry's own good."

"What? She was so harsh—how could that be for our own good? I think she just wanted to make an example of us to establish her strict teacher image!"

Ron scoffed. "I bet she does this to students from other houses too!"

Dylan: "…"

The pride of a child is truly a formidable thing.

"And the worst part is, that awful Malfoy came over after class to laugh at me and Harry!"

Dylan blinked.

So that was the real issue.

He had gone straight to Professor McGonagall's office after class, so he hadn't heard about this.

He patiently asked, "Ron, do you know what an Acromantula is?"

Harry, Ron, Neville, Seamus, and even Hermione all looked over.

"What's that?" Harry asked.

"It's a vicious, carnivorous magical creature."

Dylan explained, "Acromantulas eat humans. In fact, eating humans is part of their nature."

"That's terrifying!" Neville gasped.

Dylan nodded. "But that's not the scariest part. Do you know what is?"

"What?" Harry and Ron asked in unison.

"The scariest thing is if you turned into an Acromantula yourself, but then forgot you were a wizard. You'd resist turning back into a human and eventually become a monster that eats people, stuck in the form of an Acromantula."

As Dylan finished speaking, the young wizards around him widened their eyes in shock.

"Of course, that's just an example."

Ron let out a sigh of relief, but before he could fully relax, Dylan continued.

"Besides turning into an Acromantula, you could also become a slimy Basilisk, an ugly Grindylow, or a stinky Boggart…"

*Gasp!*
