Chapter 526: Chapter 526: Further Attempts at System Functionality

'System, you're too quick, aren't you? It was less than three seconds; I didn't get to enjoy it enough!' Andy complained inwardly.

System: "…"

The 'very' quick system, of course, didn't answer Andy.

That's because it doesn't have intelligence to answer questions.

"Well…have I gained any abilities?"

Even though he questioned it, Andy still went to the lavatory mirror first to carefully observe the handsome and refined face in the mirror.

Very good; there's not the slightest change.

Andy let out a sigh of relief.

There was no way around it—Voldemort's inhuman appearance was really creepy, and Andy was still unnerved by it.

'The system is truly awesome!'

Andy praised the system unenthusiastically before examining his own changes.

The first noticeable change was that spellcasting had become more fluid.

However, the change was not significant compared to before, and the improvement was not as exaggerated as after completing the magic transfiguration.

If completing the magic transfiguration is equivalent to putting on a new piece of equipment, then adding points to [Constitution] is equivalent to enhancing it by one level.

There is an improvement, but it is not obvious.

The system is obviously trying to bait Andy into spending more in-game currency.

Other than that. Well, there is no such thing as 'other than that'.

Andy knows the drill.

It's all about the in-game currency!

If you don't spend enough, how will the system give you new functions?

'Then I'll keep adding points!' Andy thought with gritted teeth.

There was no denying that the [Constitution] stat held great potential.

Unlike other stats, Andy figured that when the [Constitution] stat reached a certain level, it would really unlock new abilities.

Perhaps it would be that chilling cold!

"Tsk! That ability is a bit like that of a Dementor." Andy muttered.

When Dementors show up, the temperature around them drops. Azkaban is much colder than the outside world. Andy had been there before, and it was as cold as winter.

However, the coldness emitted by a Dementor does not have any special properties. It just makes you feel cold.

On the other hand, the coldness brought by the power of death can really freeze all senses, including the soul, the mind, and perception.

Andy has experienced it twice.

Let's not talk about the feeling of the first experience.

The second time was during the magic transfiguration. Andy relied on the [Will] attribute, which was as high as 7 points, to barely maintain his thoughts and self-awareness.

In other words, Andy was still able to think at that time.

But it was useless.

When perception was frozen and thinking slowed down, Andy completely lost his sense of the outside world.

More than half an hour felt like just a moment to Andy at that time.

This is a very useful ability.

Andy disliked it, but deep down he yearned for it.

This is a super AOE skill!

It not only has extremely high lethality but also possesses its own debuffs and crowd-control effects.

The best part is, there's no wand required!

In an instant, everything came to a halt, and everyone was at Andy's mercy.

Not only was it powerful, but it would also make him appear cool!

"This is a bit of a dilemma!" Andy unconsciously scratched his head.

Originally, Andy had wanted to complete the fusion of his mind and magic during the summer holiday.

But now Andy had an even more powerful new ability that he could get.

This was a dilemma!

Should he stick to the original plan? Or should he increase his [Constitution] stat to seven first?

"Hmm..."

Andy made his decision after just a moment's hesitation.

He would stick to the original plan!

It would only take five [Potential Points] to increase his [Magic] stat to five, which was not a lot and would not delay things.

The extra [Potential Points] before the summer holidays would even allow him to increase his [Constitution] stat to four.

Andy also had another possibility in mind.

With magic transfiguration, the talent point system added another [Constitution] stat.

So...

What if Andy completes the fusion of mind and magic?

Will the system add another stat?

Or change a stat?

This is entirely possible!

Although Andy's Fat Cat Patronus is also a product of the fusion of mind and magic, it is just a spell. As a living being, the Fat Cat Patronus is in between reality and fantasy.

But the fusion of mind and magic has no such limitations.

It would be like Obscurus, living inside Andy and becoming a part of him.

This would be a change in magic!

If the magic had changed, would it still be magic?

'Maybe the nature of the magic would become something else,' Andy mused.

There might be risks.

But it is worth a try.

In this period of time, Andy had looked up a lot of information about Obscurus and had many discussions with Grindelwald.

Both agreed that if the power of love could be used in the fusion of mind and magic, the risk would not be too great.

Besides, someone had already succeeded.

Lily Potter!

She had merged her love into Harry's blood.

It was hard to imagine how she had done it.

Grindelwald believed it might have been the result of an ancient magic.

What's more, Andy already had a successful experience.

When researching the Patronus Charm, Andy managed to integrate the feelings of love and happiness into the spell.

Andy's love might not be strong.

But Andy had not lost the ability to love.

'It's settled!'

Having made his decision, Andy waved his wand and dispelled the lingering chill from his clothes.

He couldn't mess up again.

***

Back in the library, Andy sat down opposite Hermione as usual.

The young witch was indeed a little suspicious.

She first tugged at Andy's clothes, then looked him up and down before saying, "You handled this well; there's not a trace left."

"What are you on about." Andy grumpily flicked Hermione on the forehead.

"Ouch!" Hermione let out a yelp, covering her forehead.

Fortunately, Andy had cast a spell earlier to prevent sounds from escaping; otherwise, Madam Pince would have been knocking on the door again.

"Don't deny it!"

Hermione put on a 'there is only one truth' expression and said, "You took a book out of the restricted section and suddenly said something that made you get a scolding from Madam Pince."

"Then you sat down and read for a while."

"But I noticed you didn't even turn a page."

"Then...you claimed that you needed to go to the restroom."

At this, Hermione looked at Andy with a smug smile and said, "Andy, tell me, did you really do nothing while you were out?"

Andy: "..."

It would be better to just call you the Detective Hermione!

"Of course I did."

Andy said with a smile, "I went to the toilet."

"Never mind!" Hermione said.

She was not particularly interested.

"Of course!"

Andy said with a face full of grievances, "I really just went out to take a leak. Hermione, ask yourself, When have I ever truly deceived you?"

"If it's a secret I can't tell you, I'll just tell you I can't tell you now, rather than lying to you."

Hermione looked a little ashamed. "Okay, I apologise. Andy, I shouldn't have doubted you."

Andy made a 'V' sign in his mind.

This is the victory of setting up a public persona!
