Honkai Simulator: I'm Really not Seele!

Chapter 23: Seele! Bronya finally found you!

As evening approached, Kiana and her three companions finally arrived at the residential area that Bronya had suggested as a suitable resting place.

Just as they reached their destination safely, Kiana, blessed with uncanny luck, suddenly felt an intense premonition that something good was bound to happen.

Before Mei and Bronya could even decide on which house would be the best for them to stay in that night, Kiana confidently volunteered to lead everyone to find this "good thing" she sensed.

Mei, the most gentle of the three, couldn't bear to reject Kiana's enthusiasm outright. Meanwhile, Bronya, who usually had a sharp tongue when it came to Kiana, uncharacteristically held back any snarky remarks.

Kiana was taken aback by the lack of mockery from Bronya but, being someone who didn't particularly enjoy getting scolded, she saw no need to question her good fortune.

However, Bronya had her own concerns. Ever since stepping into this place, she had been faintly aware of a familiar, sweet, milky fragrance—one that belonged to none other than her long-lost sister, Seele.

Though three years had passed, there was no mistaking it. It was Seele's scent.

But that was impossible. Bronya had seen Seele fall into the depths of the Quantum Sea with her own eyes.

"...It must be an illusion," she muttered to herself, shaking her head. The only explanation was that she was simply missing Seele too much, leading her to hallucinate the familiar scent.

Yet, as Kiana's wild and absurd luck continued to guide them closer to Lunelle's location, the scent grew stronger—so strong that Bronya could no longer dismiss it as mere imagination.

And soon, they arrived at Lunelle's doorstep.

Inside the house, Lunelle had just finished showering. As she dried her hair, a sudden series of knocks on the door startled her.

Facing this unexpected situation, Lunelle hesitated.

Should she pretend that no one was home?

Or should she just bite the bullet and tell them not to disturb her?

However, considering that they were currently in the high-risk zone of Nagazora City, she had to be cautious. If Kiana was outside, then it was likely that all three of the major figures had come together.

Lunelle knew full well that her voice was eerily similar to Seele's. If Bronya happened to hear her speak...

After weighing her options, Lunelle decided to remain silent, hoping that they would leave if no response came.

But her plan failed before it even had a chance to succeed.

"If no one answers, I'm coming in!" Kiana announced boldly.

Even through the door, Kiana's keen senses detected the alluringly sweet, milky scent emanating from within. It was so enticing that she could barely stop herself from drooling.

"Kiana? If someone really is inside, wouldn't it be bad if we just barged in?" Mei asked hesitantly.

"Mei, if someone was in there, wouldn't they have answered by now? I think this place is most likely abandoned, or maybe even occupied by zombies! What if there's something valuable inside? I'll just kick the door open and take a look!"

Kiana knocked a few more times. With no response, her curiosity—and hunger—grew stronger. Without hesitation, she raised her leg, ready to kick the door down.

"Stupid Kiana! This house is already on the verge of collapse. If you kick it, it might fall apart entirely!" Bronya finally spoke up, stopping Kiana just in time.

"Huh? That's true... But the door is already deformed. If I don't kick it, how else do we get in?"

"It's just a door, and it's not even made of Soul Steel. Bronya has a safer way."

Without further delay, Bronya summoned Heavy-Armored Bunny, deactivating its quantization mode.

"Bronya! Don't tell me you're planning to just blast the door open?!" Kiana exclaimed.

"Stupid Kiana, Heavy-Armored Bunny doesn't only have bombardment mode." Bronya rolled her eyes. "Re-equip Bunny 19C, activate melee lance mode."

With Bronya's command, the cannon arm of Heavy-Armored Bunny transformed into a sharp lance. As a weapon from the previous civilization, its Soul Steel composition made it incredibly versatile. With precise movements, Bronya effortlessly sliced through the already damaged door, cutting it away neatly without making much noise.

The entire process took less than ten seconds.

But the moment the door was gone, Bronya, driven by the overwhelming scent of Seele, rushed inside without hesitation—faster than even Kiana.

Inside, Lunelle had just finished dressing in clean clothes. She had been debating whether to use the remaining moments of peace to find a hiding spot when—

BANG!

The bathroom door was slammed open.

"Ah!!!"

Lunelle, unprepared for the sudden intrusion, let out a sharp cry. But that was her mistake.

Her voice—ethereal, delicate—was nearly identical to Seele's.

Realizing this, Lunelle clamped a hand over her mouth, praying that the intruder was Kiana and not—

"Seele! Bronya has finally found you!!!"

Too late.

Before Lunelle could react, Bronya's soft, emotional voice rang through the room. Without a second thought, she threw herself at Lunelle, wrapping her arms tightly around her waist.

The hug was desperate, as if Bronya feared that letting go would make Lunelle disappear.

The Heavy-Armored Bunny, sensing the emotional moment, automatically returned to its quantum mode to give them some space.

Lunelle, still in shock, hesitated. What was she supposed to do now? This was her third wife—no, wait, she wasn't even Seele! But with her transformation abilities, it was unlikely that anyone in this world could resemble Seele more than she did.

If she really wanted to take Seele's place as Bronya's "first wife," it was more than possible.

But that was a dangerous thought. If Seele ever returned from the Quantum Sea, wouldn't she tear Lunelle apart?

With that realization, Lunelle steeled herself. She had to push Bronya away.

She tried.

But...

"Huh?"

Why... couldn't she break free?

Her stats were clearly higher than average, enough to overpower an ordinary person. So why was she unable to pry Bronya's arms off her waist?!

"Ugh..." Lunelle's face twisted in embarrassment.

Wasn't Bronya supposed to be a ranged Valkyrie? How was she this strong?!

Desperate, she resorted to words. "U-uh... Young lady, who is this Seele you're talking about? I think you've got the wrong person."

Bronya's grip only tightened. "Impossible! Seele is Seele! Bronya would never mistake her!"

No matter how much Lunelle tried to explain, Bronya refused to let go.

Lunelle, utterly exhausted, wanted nothing more than to ask the heavens why her plan to stay hidden had failed so spectacularly.

And then, as if things couldn't get worse—

Kiana and Mei arrived at the scene, eyes widening as they took in the intimate sight before them.

Lunelle felt her soul leave her body.

There was no way to explain this now.

With witnesses present, even if she jumped into the Yellow River, she wouldn't be able to wash away the misunderstanding.

Truly, all she wanted was to hide and quietly grow stronger.

How did things end up like this?!
