Honkai Star Rail Starting With Judgement of Shamash

Chapter 20: Chapter 20 The Overworld

The weather in Belobog today is unexpectedly pleasant. The midday sun bathes the administrative district in a golden light.

Just like Mrs. Prince's mood at this moment.

"Mom! Mom! Will we see Dad soon?"

Mrs. Prince held her daughter's small hand as they headed downtown.

"Yes, sweetie. Your dad hardly sees us a few times a year. He's always busy with work. This time, I'm taking you to see if he has time for us."

Mrs. Prince chuckled. Her husband works in Rivet Town, so they rarely see each other. The rules for traveling between the upper and lower districts have become stricter, and it took her a long time to arrange this visit.

She requested time off for her daughter, made her husband's favorite sandwich, bought a bottle of good wine that cost her half a month's salary, and selected a flower from [Eversummer Florist] Flower Shop—ball peonies.

"No matter how busy he is, he'll probably put aside his work to spend time with his beloved daughter."

"Da da da da," the little girl hummed a nursery rhyme, clearly excited. She only sees her father once a year, so she was thrilled.

The warm scene, much like the rare sunny days in Belobog, made the cold feel nonexistent.

But the warm sunshine can sometimes make people forget the cold wind lurking in the shadows.

A car sped out of the driveway, heading uncontrollably toward the mother and daughter.

Everything happened in an instant.

Mrs. Prince barely had time to push her daughter out of the way with all her strength. Another moment, and the car would have hit her.

Unfortunately, things happened so quickly that Mrs. Prince couldn't push her daughter far enough away.

If not for a sudden intervention, a tragedy would have occurred.

"Unfortunately, I dislike watching tragedies."

With a silent sigh, Orion rushed in front of the car, which was only inches from the mother and daughter, and blocked them.

With incredible speed, Orion grabbed the front bumper of the car and lifted it.

Like a parent taking away a toy car, Orion's strength lifted the vehicle into the air, sending it over the heads of the mother and daughter and throwing it aside.

"Bah!"

The screeching sound of brakes left a long mark on the road.

"Ah!"

It wasn't until everything calmed down that people started screaming.

The scene was astonishing, like an ordinary person facing a wild bull but holding its horns with one hand and throwing it with the other.

"It's okay, ma'am."

Mrs. Prince clutched her daughter tightly, still in shock from the recent events. Broken wine bottles and spilled food were scattered everywhere.

Among all the destruction, only the ball peony remained intact.

"Cocolia, in your upper area, are people really that reckless?"

Orion looked back at the furious Cocolia. They had just left the underworld.

Before Orion could enjoy the warm sunshine, a disaster unfolded before his eyes.

If he hadn't been there, and if both mother and daughter had perished in the accident, the mother might not have survived.

They seem fine now, just a bit shaken.

The out-of-control car finally came to a stop. Despite the car owner being thrown, he hurriedly got out of the vehicle.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"

The car owner was an ordinary man with some blood on his forehead, but he was generally okay.

Cocolia was assessing the situation with the arriving patrol captain, and Orion took a good look at the upper area.

"In terms of civilization, it's pretty modern. Cars, trains, basic electricity, citizens' clothing, and general outlook are all much better than in the lower-class areas."

Orion observed the plants, trees, and people around but was more focused on the city's remaining energy.

The atmosphere was calm and clean. The upper area was undoubtedly in better shape compared to the lower area. For now, there was no threat of the city being overtaken by the rift, but...

A strong, prickling sensation came from the north. Orion looked in that direction.

The city's buildings were orderly. From this road, he could see what seemed to be the city's center, extending northward.

An energy that ordinary people couldn't sense but one he had personally experienced was gathering in the north.

The extent of this corrosive force...

"At least ten times stronger than what I faced underground..."

The pressure was palpable to Orion. Sealing the world was no easy task. If he wasn't careful, he could be in danger himself.

"The worst-case scenario is that I get eroded by the rift during the sealing process."

Terrible thoughts crossed Orion's mind. The erosion in the upper area was more severe than he had imagined.

"Let's go. Why are you standing there?"

At some point, Cocolia stood behind Orion and patted him on the shoulder.

"Just thinking."

Cocolia noticed the worry in Orion's eyes. For someone who seemed so powerful to show such concern, it was clear it wasn't just about the car accident.

"Could it be he already knows..."

They both had their own thoughts. Orion looked troubled. Since arriving on this planet, things have not gone smoothly. Despite doing his best, bad luck seemed to follow him, making him feel powerless.

"Let's go. I'll take you to find someone." Cocolia broke the silence. No matter what happened, she wouldn't give up without trying.

Before leaving, the mother and daughter thanked Orion, and the mother shared her daughter's name.

"Beatrice Prince."

Seeing the five-year-old child, Orion felt a bit better. This incident reminded him that his efforts were not in vain.

Following Cocolia, Orion walked toward the center of Belobog. The closer they got to the center, the more prosperous the area became, hopefully reducing incidents like the one earlier.

"Here we are?"

The "Neverwinter" workshop.

A store located in a posh area in the city center, with luxurious décor and a high-tech appearance. Orion sensed that this place was significant.

"What's Cocolia's plan for bringing me here?"

As Orion pondered, a young and beautiful figure emerged from the door of the machine room.

With a hint of purple in her platinum hair and wearing rock and roll-style clothes, this person was undeniably beautiful, like Cocolia.

When she saw Cocolia, she froze in disbelief.

"Cocolia?"

Quickly approaching, the woman examined Cocolia, then, before Cocolia could react, pulled her into a big hug.

Orion couldn't clearly see Cocolia's expression, but from the woman's concerned eyes, it was clear they had a close relationship.

As she hugged Cocolia, she glanced at Orion behind her with a playful smile.

"Oh, Cocolia, I haven't seen you in ages. You wouldn't be sneaking around finding a man, would you?"
