Chapter 91: Chapter 091 ↦ Alligator, Call Me Father!
Suddenly, Houtarou jolted awake.
The dream had left him completely shocked.
The vision had been incredibly intense. If it had only featured the lawyer Suzune, whom he hadn't dreamed about in a while, that would have been one thing — after all, she had appeared in his dreams before.
But this Precognitive Dream was different. Not only was Suzune's image more vivid than ever, but he had seen their two daughters, Rinrin and Nene, with startling clarity.
Could this mean he would marry her in the future? How was that even possible?
He had never thought of Suzune romantically, and she was adamant about not dating during high school. So how could such a future come to be?
This left Houtarou feeling deeply conflicted.
Yet that wasn't even the most unsettling part. What truly made him question reality was Arisu's appearance ten years later — that was genuinely frightening.
Though Suzune seemed unaware, from every angle he considered it, had his future self really developed that kind of relationship with Arisu too?
They even had a ten-year-old daughter — Alice Sakayanagi.
Furthermore, according to Suzune's information, Arisu had a high-profile relationship with him in their second year, followed by an abrupt breakup. Then she dropped out...
But wasn't he dating Kei?
And that sudden relationship and breakup... considering Alice's age, rather than investigating the reason for their separation, it seemed more likely that something serious had occurred at school.
Under those circumstances, she must have had no choice but to drop out for the child's sake.
"..." Houtarou began to question his entire existence.
However, a system notification sound appeared in his ear.
〖 Congratulations, host has completed Superhuman Physique Modification. After modification, supernatural abilities will strengthen with time and age. 〗
〖 Superhuman Physique: Breaking through human limitations. These limitations refer to the body's self-protection mechanisms that restrict certain reactions for self-preservation — such as the inability to use absolute strength and running speed limitations. Though in special circumstances, these limits can be broken through to produce miraculous effects, naturally with significant after-effects. 〗
In other words, he could now completely release these limitations, and his body had developed enough to handle it.
Houtarou pondered this as the system notifications continued.
〖 Additionally, congratulations on obtaining two supernatural abilities. 〗
〖 Clairvoyance + Restoration Ability 〗
〖 Clairvoyance: Ability to see extremely far distances and observe details down to individual hairs. 〗
〖 Restoration Ability: Can restore damaged things to their state from the previous day. 〗
〖 Note 1: Can also be used on living beings. For illnesses, can restore to previous day's condition. Drawback: After one day, the illness will return. 〗
〖 Note 2: Can only be used once per day on the same object or living being. 〗
Houtarou examined his two new abilities.
Clairvoyance worked like a telescope, but being part of his body meant he could use it anytime to see even greater distances.
The Restoration Ability's power to repair damaged items would prove useful. Though symptoms would return the next day when healing bodies, it could still work as a temporary fix.
For people close to him, he could use it daily — effectively preventing recurring symptoms indefinitely.
Not bad at all.
And then... hm?
He opened his eyes, feeling his body reach its ultimate level of strength. It felt frighteningly light, clear, and expansive.
He felt an urge to jump instantly. But with the room only 2.2 meters high, he instinctively knew he'd damage the ceiling.
Houtarou glanced at the phone on his bed and quickly searched for the Amazon rainforest.
Soon, thanks to his internet connection, he found a photo of the Amazon rainforest taken last year.
〖 Do you want to use Teleportation? 〗
Yes!

The moment he made his decision, a new scene materialized before his eyes — a deep green expanse.
In the distance, red spiders had woven their webs among the tall jungle trees. Though the sunlight blazed intensely, the rich, natural atmosphere was breathtaking.
This was the Amazon rainforest. With no one around, the freedom to jump felt exhilarating.
Houtarou was in a good mood.
"Ah—" He would never normally shout like this, but something about this place made him feel limitless.

Then he noticed sounds emerging from nearby. Something in the mud pond began swimming toward him.
From its underwater movement, he could tell it was an alligator.
Alligators, huh. And not just one.
Houtarou watched as the creature approached. Its eyes were still crusted with mud, as if surprised to find such large prey at this hour.
Oh! The law of the jungle, is it? Well, isn't this interesting?
He was in a good mood.

Half an hour of play later, Houtarou finally settled down.
People had always seen him as a weak, ordinary young man. While he acknowledged his ordinariness, he didn't want to be dismissed as just a pretty face.
And now, though his muscles remained unchanged, he could feel the raw power within.
Better yet, he glanced at the unconscious alligator floating belly-up in the mud pond beside him.
Though he'd never studied martial arts or fighting techniques, he figured if he could take down an alligator, handling people should be simple enough, right?
〖 Do you want to use Teleportation? 〗
Of course!
He just wanted to test his newly acquired abilities, not become the next Bear Grylls out there.

Houtarou returned to the luxury cruise ship.
Having a private room meant he could teleport back without worrying about roommates — spending money to avoid hassle was always worth it to him.
However, when he checked his phone, something was off.
It was June 14th, 5 PM. While it felt like he'd just woken from a dream, three days had actually passed for everyone else.
Though not particularly fussy about cleanliness, Houtarou decided he needed a shower.
Knock Knock!
Just as he finished showering and was drying his hair with the cruise ship's clean towel, someone knocked at the door.
His phone, lying on the bed, vibrated with an incoming call from "Hashimoto".
It had to be his classmate Masayoshi at the door.
"Oreki... Finally found you."
Embracing the luxury cruise atmosphere, Masayoshi was dressed in summer beach attire.

As soon as the door opened, the energetic Class A student snapped two quick photos of Houtarou and made a show of sending them to others immediately.
"?" Houtarou gave him a questioning look.
"Sorry, even though we're away from school, I still receive certain special assignments." Masayoshi explained quickly, pocketing his phone.
Oh. Someone had specifically requested photos of him?
Sensing that pursuing this question would lead to troublesome answers, Houtarou chose to feign ignorance.
After all, it was terrifying enough knowing he'd marry Suzune in the future — yet somehow also have a daughter with Arisu.
Was he a lolicon?
He wasn't mentally prepared for any of this.
"It was hard to get a chance to see you." Masayoshi said, handing over a neatly organized stack of documents.
"What's this—"
"This is the information our Sakayanagi faction gathered over these three days." He explained, "It includes details on all the first-year students — photos, names, and phone numbers, everything we could find."
Impressive. This Class A member certainly knew his espionage.
"We've managed to turn one Class C student to our side. We've also discovered that Ryūen controls Class C through violence — several students show signs of injury, and some want to rebel. Class B students are approachable but impossible to sway." Masayoshi reported, "They're all devoted Ichinose followers who truly believe she'll lead them to Class A. As for Class D, we've planted several spies, but those students... are rather peculiar."
In other words, he worried too much contact with them might lower his own intelligence.
Or perhaps those Class D students simply didn't grasp that accepting spy money meant they should actually spy.
With Arisu absent, Masayoshi was sharing three days' worth of her faction's intelligence with Houtarou.
This initiative could have been Arisu's request, or perhaps Masayoshi sharing Kōhei's concerns.
As new Class A members, they were determined not to lose their position. Hence their extra effort to maintain Class A's status.
They'd received concrete information from Kōhei that this exam's Point values could reach several hundred — meaning lower classes could potentially catch up immediately. No Class A student wanted that.
"Something's different about Class C lately—" Masayoshi added, "Ryūen suddenly allowed his students to interact with other classes. Before, at school, approaching them was impossible."
His voice carried a hint of unease.
This suggested the easily corrupted Class C student might be Kakeru's bait.
After discovering his students had been deceived by Houtarou and others, he had banned them from interacting with other classes.
According to Kikyō's frustrated account, when she tried contacting Class C students, she faced public punishment. Girls were forbidden from speaking to her, while boys were branded as perverts and lowlifes — effectively isolating Class C.
And now? Kakeru had lifted these restrictions. What could he gain from this?
Was he using his students to gather intelligence?
Yet ironically, with Class C's restrictions lifted, other classes could better understand their situation.
Houtarou respected Kakeru's capabilities, which made exploiting him all the more entertaining.
Based on his understanding of that tyrannical bully, Kakeru likely wanted to challenge Class A — but first needed to discipline his class again.
After all, what good was strategy if your class was full of spies? If your class took closed-book tests while others had open books, what was the point of competition?
He needed a reliable class where he alone held authority, free from spies.
After consideration, Houtarou saw an opportunity.
If Kakeru planned to purge spies from his class, they could strategically bribe some of his students.
Bribing spies would bring quick benefits. Since Kakeru wanted to test his students' loyalty, he'd show initial leniency. Even if he discovered bought students, he wouldn't act right away.
So bribing spies to take action could proceed smoothly.
While bribing spies would cost significant Points, those Points would eventually concentrate in Kakeru's hands after his spy purge.
They could then execute a plan to seize all his accumulated Private Points. Not only would they recover their investment, but they'd also earn extra Points — creating a perfect cycle.
"Perfect!"
Satisfied with his plan, Houtarou dried his hair with the towel.
After a quick review of Masayoshi's materials, he prepared to leave.
