Mrs. Weasley had prepared mountains of ham pies and roasted chicken that nearly made the table collapse. She had also made towering jellied puddings that wobbled precariously and an enormous cream cake.
"Mum, your cake's big enough to stuff Harry inside," Fred remarked with a grin.
"And that pudding could fit Ginny in it - what a sweet combination," George added with a cheeky wink.
Ginny accidentally knocked her plate to the floor with a loud clatter. Orli let out an exasperated sigh while Harry carefully pretended not to notice.
Mrs. Weasley wouldn't let anyone go to bed until they were completely stuffed, insisting on fourth helpings for everyone.
The next morning, all the children received their Hogwarts letters. Ginny got her long-awaited acceptance letter, while the others received their new term book lists.
The letters still instructed them to catch the Hogwarts Express from King's Cross Station on September 1st. However, the book list made everyone exchange worried glances.
"Blimey, look at all these Gilderoy Lockhart books! What's yours like, Harry?" Fred leaned over to peek at Harry's list.
"You lot need them too! Even Ginny! And Percy will need them as well... That's five complete sets for our family!" George exclaimed after checking Orli and Ginny's lists, exchanging a meaningful look with Fred.
"These books won't come cheap, and they're all newly published..." Mrs. Weasley hesitated, wringing her hands. "Perhaps we could get some second-hand items for Ginny's first year."
"Don't worry, Mum. Remember our little 'side business'?" Fred pulled out a small pouch that jingled promisingly as he handed it to Mrs. Weasley.
"There's 80 Galleons in there - our savings from last term and summer," George explained proudly.
Mrs. Weasley stared at the money pouch in astonishment before glancing at Orli. She opened her mouth to speak, but Orli quickly cut in:
"Don't worry, Mrs. Weasley. I've earned even more than they have."
Though the twins hadn't revealed their entire savings, they had contributed the majority of it.
"Mum! This means no second-hand books! No second-hand robes!" Ginny bounced excitedly.
"Orli, thank you, dear child." Mrs. Weasley wrapped Orli in a tight embrace.
"Oi, Mum! We gave the money - we're your actual sons!" Fred protested indignantly, earning himself a stern look from Mrs. Weasley.
"Thank you so much, Orli! You're brilliant!" Ginny grabbed Orli's hand gratefully.
"Funny, someone was saying 'I don't want her in my room!' just the other day," George mimicked in a high-pitched voice, promptly receiving a sharp stomp on his foot from Ginny.
Just then, an enormous but ancient grey owl flew in looking rather worse for wear and crashed straight into the sink. It was Errol, the Weasleys' family owl. Ron fished him out and extracted a slightly damp letter from under his wing.
"It's from Hermione!" He announced, reading aloud:
"Dear Ron, and Harry and Orli if you're there,
I do hope you'll use a different owl next time, Ron - I seriously doubt this poor bird will survive another delivery.
I've been busy with my holiday assignments and hope you've all made a start on yours too. (Especially you, Harry and Ron!)
My parents and I are heading to London next Wednesday for my school books. Shall we meet up in Diagon Alley?
Love from, Hermione"
"Well then, we'll go next Wednesday too," Mrs. Weasley decided as she cleared the table, sweeping away Errol's scattered feathers.
"Perhaps we should think about getting a new owl. Poor Errol's getting on a bit," she added thoughtfully.
"Mum, can I have one? I need an owl - Harry and Orli both have their own!" Ron pleaded.
"You've already got Scabbers - it should be mine!" Ginny protested.
"That's enough, both of you! Even if we do get a new owl, it'll be for the family!" Mrs. Weasley's tone brooked no argument.

Author's Note:
Research indicates that when Dobby worked at Hogwarts, Dumbledore offered him 10 Galleons per week (equivalent to 40 Galleons monthly). Given Dobby's status, this likely represented the minimum wage in the wizarding world (though Dobby later negotiated it down to 1 Galleon weekly). Thus, the twins' contribution of 80 Galleons from their savings is significant, especially considering Orli's business is just starting and the twins recently purchased new brooms. The Weasley family's financial situation will gradually improve over time.
