I alone am the Honoured One!

Chapter 711: The Shackles of Pain, All that remains is Darkness [2]

Inside the vast space, Raphaela Celeste Ravenscroft felt a shudder in her soul.

"V-Vester?"

Her body stiffened and her gaze trembled with the blindfold coiling around her eyes "Is he.. overclocking again?"

"No.. his bloodline."

...

Back in the citadel, where the air reeked of blood and decay... Kaelith who was about to stab him, was surprised to see him breaking the chains.

His instincts, honed through centuries of battle, screamed at him... something was wrong.

'What the hell is that...' He muttered in his mind, looking at the black blindfold appearing around his eyes.

Huh? Selena was equally dumbfounded 'Where did he get that from... and how did he break the chains...'

Hm? Rhudamanth's gaze narrowed looking at Zhao Tian 'Darkness energy that belongs to the Eldritchfiends... and some other energy.'

Zhao Tian's body swayed from exhaustion.

The chains had broken, but the toll had not vanished as muscles trembled from strain.

However, in the next instant, yellow energy rippled around his body, patching the torn flesh and tendons.

Kaelith's grip on his sword tightened as he saw Zhao Tian healing his wounds with the light energy.

Without wasting a second, he directly plunged the sword deep in his gut 'I don't know what's going on... but my instincts are telling me to kill him.'

"Urgh..." Zhao Tian's body convulsed as he felt the sharp blade tear through his gut.

However, he gritted his teeth and grabbed the blade.

His fingers, slick with his own blood, wrapped around the blade and a shudder passed through the weapon as if recoiling from his touch.

Now that the chains are broken, he can easily escape into the artifact.

But he won't...

He need to reap some souls... for the one soul he lost.

Hm? Kaelith gripped the blade and tried to pull it back but was surprised to see that he couldn't pull it off.

From Zhao Tian's wound, black tendrils of energy poured out, creeping along the blade's surface as it slithered toward Kaelith's fingers like hungry serpents

With a slight cough, he raised his right hand, smacking the blade.

*CRACK* The blade instantly broke into two, and Kaelith pulled back his hand to look at the half-broken blade in his hand.

The other part is still embedded in his gut.

Gritting his teeth, Zhao Tian pulled the blade out of his body as a fresh surge of blood burst forth from his body, pooling down the citadel.

It was when he was on Earth, during the coup of Zhenzhu and in the battle he felt this energy for the first time. (A/n: Ch 325)

He remembers the women in his head talking about this and calling it 'overclocking'

From that day, he felt this weird energy in his body; he always tried to feel this energy again, but he couldn't.

Seems like this energy breaks out of him when he crashes out or is extremely angry.

The deep hole on his guy began to heal itself, and Zhao Tian slowly extended his hand.

The golden energy coalesced into his hand, forming a golden sword but swirling with dark energy.

Hm? Kaelith hurriedly twisted the half blade and slashed at him.

*CLANG* Zhao Tian raised his own sword to parry the blade as sparks of violent energy clashed in the air.

Kaelith's muscles tensed and veins bulged as he twisted his body, attempting to drive his half-blade into Zhao Tian's exposed shoulder

However, Zhao Tian turned his blade and parried the attack as a loud vibration crackled through the air.

The sheer force behind the clash sent a shockwave tearing across the citadel, powerful enough to rattle the very foundations of the ancient structure.

*CLANGGG* Because of the energy outburst, Kaelith was pushed back as he shot back from the Citadel and landed on the ground.

Raising his head, he looked at Zhao Tian's face as his eyes were blinded by the blindfold.

'What's with this sudden power... and can he even see?'

Rhudamanth stepped forward and his eyes squinted in intrigue 'Is this the power of the Honoured One?'

Zhao Tian suddenly felt a searing hot pain raging through his chest, and he raised his left hand, clenching his heart tightly.

"Urgh..."

Bearing the sudden pain, he stepped toward the dead body of Yao Jing.

However, before he could kneel beside her body, a crimson blur shot through the air, aiming toward him.

Kaelith's claws outstretched and aimed straight for Zhao Tian's throat.

All he wanted now is to rip this man apart before it was too late.

Zhao Tian quickly raised his sword and parried the bloody hand as he looked at the furious eyes of Kaelith.

*THOOM* The impact created a shockwave that sent cracks webbing across the citadel's foundation

With a burst of raw strength, Kaelith twisted his body and lashed out with his other claw.

Zhao Tian flicked his wrist and did a sudden slash with that blade.

"URGH!" A scream tore from Kaelith's throat as his vision blurred and his gaze snapped downward to see his severed fingers falling to the stone floor below.

Blood spurted from the fresh wound as Zhao Tian's golden-black energy seared through the exposed flesh.

"GRAGHH!!" Kaelith howled in pain, stumbling backward as he clutched the remains of his hand.

A sudden gust of wind howled through the citadel as Zhao Tian vanished from sight.

Before Kaelith could react, an overwhelming presence loomed before him, sending an ice-cold chill crawling down his spine.

WHOOSH!

A sharp breath escaped Zhao Tian's lips.

Then—

CLANGGG!

A devastating slash tore through the air.

Kaelith barely had time to raise his remaining hand in defense before the strike connected and the force of the impact lifted his massive body off the ground.

His eyes quivered as he was sent hurtling through the air like a broken doll and his body crashed into the citadel's outer wall with an earth-shattering BOOM!

The structure trembled under the force and massive cracks splintered outward as dust and rubble cascaded from above.

Before Kaelith could react, a brutal force slammed into his chest, pinning him against the cracked wall.

THUD!

Zhao Tian stood above him with his foot pressed firmly against his torso.

The vampire thrashed beneath his grip and his remaining hand clawed at Zhao Tian's leg.

And then—

SHINK!

A sword plunged through his left arm, pinning it to the stone like an insect trapped beneath a needle.

"URGHHHHHH!" Kaelith's body writhed in agony as he glared up at Zhao Tian, his crimson eyes burning with hatred.

"You think you can just-"

SHING!

A single slash.

A crimson arc painted the air.

Kaelith's words died in his throat and his head tumbled from his shoulders, rolling across the blood-soaked stone.

Only one soul has been reaped... many more to go.

White linings appeared in Zhao Tian's closed golden eyes and he saw the fluttering soul of Kaelith.

Soul?

He hurriedly turned his gaze to look at the dead body of Yao Jing and saw her soul diminishing.

'Jing'er...'
