I Became an Unknown Professor at the Academy

Chapter 204

Bwiar’s Temple

“You ate well!”

Na Yeon-ju finishes her meal, leaving her plate spotless, and stands up. The senior disciple, Lee Yesol, who was sitting in the highest seat, sips her tea and asks with a faint smile.

“I heard you had plans with the other apprentices today?”
“Yes!”

Yeon-ju’s smile brightens, bringing joy to not only those around her but also the other priests and paladins.

“Come here for a moment.”
“Yes, of course.”

At Yesol’s gesture, Yeon-ju quickly approaches and stands before her.

“I heard that you’ve been very considerate towards the other children. What about today?”

Yesol takes out a black card with the symbol of Bwiar, a ‘phone’ inlaid with platinum, from the inside of her wide sleeve and places it in Yeon-ju’s hand.

“Make sure to return it after you’re done.”
“Oh, but I have my own allowance…”
“Huhu, it’s fine.”

Yesol had been asked by Baek Woo-jin to take extra care of Yeon-ju, but it was natural for the cute and beloved youngest disciple to receive such attention wherever she went.

Especially when compared to the other apprentices, including Maria, who were not as pure and untainted as Yeon-ju, the desire to protect and care for her grew stronger, making everyone want to do something extra for her.

“You said you were leaving at three, right?”
“Yes, but I’m meeting them a bit earlier.”
“Oh?”
“Yes, I have to stop by the training hall for a bit. I’m going there with them.”
“Hmm, so it’s the training hall?”

Yesol’s gaze narrowed slightly before she smiled playfully and nodded.

“Just make sure to return before it gets too late. If anything happens, you must contact us immediately.”
“Yes!”
“Then go ahead and leave.”
“Hehe, thank you!”

Yeon-ju tightly clutches the black card to her chest, bows, and then turns to head upstairs. Since it wasn’t an overnight trip, she wasn’t allowed to wear casual clothes, but she needed to carry her wallet and smartphone, so she went upstairs to her room.

“Senior, aren’t you being a bit discriminatory?”
“Discriminatory?”
“Yes!”

Maria, sitting next to Yesol, pouts and speaks up.

“I was the youngest disciple with Maria, but why didn’t you ever lend us something like this?”
“…Edyn, please.”

Maria covers her face with both hands, feeling embarrassed, while Edyn shows no signs of stopping her whining.

“Well, that’s true. But Edyn?”
“…”

Edyn’s eyes narrow slightly as she meets the gaze of the senior disciple.

Edyn flinches, and the other priests and paladins in the room burst into laughter at this unusual side of Edyn, who usually exuded a strong and masculine aura.

Edyn’s face gradually turns red.

Yesol speaks up before Edyn can sulk further.

“I heard you spent most of the allowance I gave you. Where did you use it?”
“Huh?”

Edyn’s pouting lips suddenly disappear.

“Do you need the card?”
“No, I was just kidding. Ha, ha.”

-Pfft.
-Haha, you won’t even get your money back. Why are you whining?
-Our Cherry Princess must be feeling left out.

“That’s not it at all!”
“Why do I have to feel embarrassed for you?”

The room fills with laughter for a while.

**

“I’ll be back!”

Yeon-ju, with all her belongings packed, bows and leaves the temple.

“Hmm~”

Yeon-ju starts humming a strange tune, which she must have picked up from Baek Hana, as she heads towards her meeting spot.

“Yeon-ju, over here!”

Yeon-ju approaches the fork in the road, where a girl waves her arms above her head.

“You didn’t have to follow, it’s fine.”
“No, I like walking around.”

To be precise, she enjoys riding around.

“But to be honest, I’m a bit surprised.”
“Why?”

As Yeon-ju tilts her head in confusion, the girl walking beside her speaks up.

“Well, I asked the others, and they said you’re always busy on weekends. And on weekdays, if you don’t have plans with other friends, you return early. So, I was worried, but when I suggested this, you agreed, so I was surprised.”
“Hehe, our schedules just happened to match. After today, I’ll probably be busy again.”

Baek Woo-jin and Baek Hana.

Their meeting at the mansion had naturally been canceled due to the two of them.

Originally, they were supposed to gather at the training hall for muscle training, but this time, just like the previous one, muscle soreness…

“Yeon-ju?”
“Huh?”

Yeon-ju snaps out of her thoughts at the call of the girl, Lee Ji-eun.

“Why are you blushing all of a sudden? Do you feel sick?”
“No, I’m fine…”

Yeon-ju quickly shakes her head to clear her mind.

“Where are the other two?”
“They’ll be here at three.”

Ji-eun.

As they walk together to their Fracture Mechanics lecture, Na Yeon-ju, the only freshman in her class, notices that Lee Ji-eun is accompanied by two other classmates.

“I wanted to buy something secretly, so I took this mission,” Ji-eun explains, a hint of secrecy in her voice.

“Oh…” Yeon-ju’s curiosity is piqued, and she asks, “What kind of item is it?”

Ji-eun playfully replies, “It’s a secret.”

Yeon-ju tilts her head, then looks back at Ji-eun. In truth, this is their first outing together, so there’s nothing she needs to repay. However, she had planned to surprise her with a gift, but now that seems unlikely.

“So, what’s this mission about?” Yeon-ju inquires.

“About two hours. I just need to heal some students who got injured during sparring,” Ji-eun responds.

Yeon-ju’s smile falters. “Sparring? I thought there was no risk of injury during sparring?”

“Me too. But they said they needed it, and I’ve already received the fee, so I can’t refuse,” Ji-eun explains.

Yeon-ju senses something amiss. Although her specialty is driving, as a priest of Bwiar, she possesses a keen intuition.

‘It’s probably nothing serious,’ she thinks to herself. After all, they’re in a fantasy world filled with magic.

‘Whatever it is, it’ll likely be minor,’ she reassures herself.

Yeon-ju resumes walking with a smile, but her pace quickens as she notices the stares of other freshmen. “They’re staring at us.”

“Our uniforms do stand out a bit,” Ji-eun remarks.

As they continue walking, a massive white structure comes into view. “Wow… It’s huge,” Yeon-ju exclaims.

‘That’s the first-year training facility,’ she realizes. Even in terms of size, it surpasses the temple they currently reside in.

‘And this is for freshmen…’ Yeon-ju is in awe.

Suddenly, Ji-eun tugs on Yeon-ju’s sleeve, making her turn her head. “What’s wrong?”

“Over there… Isn’t that… isn’t that Baek Hana?” Ji-eun asks, her voice trembling.

Yeon-ju’s eyes widen in surprise. She recognizes the figure with white hair, walking with an air of displeasure. “It’s her…”

Baek Hana strides with a cold gaze, her expression clearly conveying her anger. Yeon-ju swallows, knowing this isn’t the time to approach her.

“Ji-eun, let’s go inside quickly.” Yeon-ju, usually speaking in a standard tone, is now nervous, her voice shaking.

“Eek!” Ji-eun screams as Yeon-ju urges her to enter.

“Why? Why are you screaming?” Yeon-ju asks, turning her head.

“She’s coming this way!” Ji-eun exclaims, her voice excited.

Yeon-ju turns back, her eyes meeting Baek Hana’s cold gaze. The senior she admires, usually calling her name from a distance, now approaches like a predator, her aura intense.

“H-hello, Senpai… I mean, hello!” Yeon-ju greets, bowing at a right angle as Baek Hana stops in front of her. Ji-eun follows suit.

“Hello,” Baek Hana replies, her voice devoid of emotion.

“This is the first-year training facility. What brings you here?” she asks.

“Th-that’s…” Yeon-ju stammers, her instincts warning her against revealing everything. She trails off, her mouth dry.

“Ah! I-I…” Ji-eun interrupts, her response too quick.

Yeon-ju closes her mouth awkwardly, about to pinch Ji-eun’s buttocks when—

“I see. And your name?” Baek Hana inquires.

“I’m Lee Ji-eun, a trainee of Bwiar,” Ji-eun introduces herself.

“I see.” Baek Hana acknowledges, her tone making it clear she’s pleased.

“I came with Yeon-ju. We’re here to heal injured students from sparring,” Ji-eun explains.

“Are they your friends?” Baek Hana asks.

“No! I was asked to do it, so I don’t know them,” Ji-eun clarifies.

“I see.” Baek Hana nods, her blue eyes briefly resting on Yeon-ju’s face before returning to Ji-eun. “I’ll guide you.”
