A dozen great wizards gathered here, conducting a new round of double-slit interference experiments.

Although Lynn had conducted a similar experiment a few months ago at an academic seminar and had proved with indisputable experimental results that quantum possesses both wave-like and particle-like properties.

But this result was really hard for people to accept, firstly because of this so-called probability wave, which completely defied common sense and nearly overturned the entire foundation of magic studies!

How could the world possibly be random?

The truth could never be constantly rolling dice!

As for the observer effect, it had led quantum theory to a very strange place where human consciousness could actually have a decisive influence on quantum phenomena, or perhaps the microscopic particles were conscious and could detect their observation.

This theory made many great wizards who studied micro theories incredulous, so much so that many people suspected that the so-called probability wave and observer effect were just concepts fabricated out of thin air by the star of magic to explain phenomena.

Just like before the theory of planets emerged, they all firmly believed that the land beneath their feet was flat and that the sun, moon, and stars all revolved around the land.

Indeed, they had mistaken appearance for reality, so quantum theory must be the same!

To verify this hypothesis and stabilize the crumbling foundation of magic studies, these fifteen great wizards who had made significant contributions in the micro domain decided to improve the double-slit interference experiment.

Among these people were scholars from the particle faction as well as founders of the wave faction like Jeffrey.

Many had been quite unhappy during the arguments a few months ago, nearly coming to blows, but now they had set aside their differences and united to test the validity of quantum theory!

As for the methods of verification, they were varied and filled with wild and fantastic ideas, but overall, it was focused on the opposition between the wave and particle properties.

The biggest headache for the wizards was the issue of tracking the paths of microscopic particles, but fortunately, with the gradual opening of the magic network, this issue was resolved to some extent.

These great wizards each had three opportunities per week to mobilize the computing power of the magic network, ten minutes each time, adding up to forty-five minutes for the fifteen of them!

They had to be frugal with its use, which was why they chose to gather together rather than study independently.

"Double-slit interference experiment number twenty-seven, all checks normal!"

Jeffrey, who was in charge of this experiment, quickly adjusted the steps of the experiment. This week, their experimental goal was very clear, which was to verify whether observation could have an absolute effect on the transformation of wave-particle properties.

Jeffrey's idea was very simple—since the transformation of electrons occurred when they passed through the double slits, why not let the electrons pass through first and then explore what would happen in the latter half?

Because they had not observed the first half, the electrons should not be aware of being observed and might just display wave-like behavior, thus allowing them to catch it!

While explaining his concept, Jeffrey set up the electron accelerator. The concepts and experiments over the past few months had taxed his mental energy greatly. He had conducted many similar experiments before, but due to difficulties in observation, he had never achieved very satisfactory results.

Today, there would inevitably be an answer—Jeffrey was absolutely certain. He had waited too long. The last time he had been in Fire Oil City and witnessed two colleagues being devoured by a terrible energy wave, the fear of quantum phenomena had loomed over his mind like a nightmare.

Jeffrey knew that if he did not solve this issue, he might never dare enter the formation to advance to a legendary level!

"Gentlemen, let's begin," Jeffrey took a deep breath, adjusted his mindset, and then activated the magic network.

An invisible magic domain enveloped the entire scene, and others like Rafael also connected to the magic network, using the shared perception feature.

The electron accelerator was quickly activated, and one electron after another, accelerated at high speed, flew towards the middle partition.

Jeffrey was completely focused, his mind strung to its limit, and the other great wizards also dared not be distracted.

Because the accelerated electrons flew very fast, even with the reaction speed of great wizards, it was very difficult to notice.

"Particle, it's a particle!"

Almost the instant the accelerator was activated, a great wizard shouted out loud, a point of light had already appeared behind the partition.

In order to better capture how individual particles appeared in multiple locations simultaneously as a probability wave, interfering with itself and forming several interference stripes, the domain for detecting magic had almost touched the partition in order to capture this moment.

Jeffrey hesitated for a moment, then agreed with this guess, moving the sensing domain back by five centimeters, but the result remained the same. He then gritted his teeth and moved it back another ten centimeters, leaving less than a centimeter's distance from the sensing screen.
