I Don't Need To Log Out

Chapter 204: Samera Marsh (2)

The stillness of Samera Marsh was shattered by the sound of rippling water.

June's grip on Infernal Spire tightened as her sharp eyes scanned the murky surroundings.

Arlon stood beside her, his sword resting on his shoulder, unfazed by the eerie atmosphere.

The Named Monsters here weren't among the strongest Keldars they had encountered, but the marsh itself seemed to breathe with unseen threats.

A low growl reverberated through the fog, followed by the shifting of massive limbs.

Then, from the depths of the marsh, the first of their foes emerged—a towering Keldar, humanoid but grotesquely deformed, its skin cracked like dried lava with molten energy pulsating beneath.

It carried a jagged halberd, its eyes burning with intelligence and malice.

"Zhul," Arlon muttered. "Level 150."

June smirked. "Perfect."

Arlon needed higher levels of Keldars to level up. So the higher the level, the better it was.

With a sudden movement, Zhul swung its halberd in a wide arc, sending a scorching wave of force toward them.

June reacted instantly, raising Infernal Spire and conjuring a massive ice barrier, its crystalline form crackling as the fire met frost.

Steam exploded around them, obscuring vision momentarily.

June didn't hesitate. As the mist cleared, she wove her hands through the air, conjuring an intricate spell.

The blue-white hue of her ice magic swirled with the crimson of fire—a fusion she had been experimenting with ever since receiving the fusion skill.

"Glacial Pyre."

The moment the words left her lips, jagged shards of ice wreathed in blazing flames shot toward Zhul.

The conflicting elements didn't cancel each other out; rather, they amplified one another.

The moment the spears of ice struck, the fire superheated them, causing them to burst apart with explosive force.

Zhul roared, staggering as its molten body cracked under the conflicting magics.

Before it could recover, Arlon closed the distance with Blink, his sword coated in raw energy as he unleashed a devastating slash across its torso.

The Keldar howled, but another presence was already looming behind them.

A second Named Monster emerged—this one lithe, with dark tendrils spiraling off its body like living shadows.

Its claws gleamed like obsidian, and its hollow gaze locked onto June.

"Careful," Arlon warned, kicking off Zhul's dying body and landing beside her. "That one's fast."

"I've got this," June said, raising Infernal Spire once again.

Zeleth blurred forward, its form flickering like a phantom.

Before it could strike, June's magic erupted—a fusion of fire and ice spiraling outward.

The humid air around them crystallized as the frozen flames spread, creating an area of unstable energy.

She liked ice magic more than any other element, but since she received the Infernal Spire as a gift from Arlon, she learned fire magic.

The fire magic was more destructive thanks to the Infernal Spire, but she didn't want to let go of her ice magic.

And thanks to the fusion skill she received, she didn't need to. She fused ice and fire magic to the best of her abilities. Continue reading on My Virtual Library Empire

Zeleth leapt back, but June was faster. She channeled the energy into a concentrated beam and let it loose.

The beam struck Zeleth mid-dodge, freezing one half of its body while searing the other.

It shrieked as Arlon dashed forward, using the opening to land a lethal blow.

With one clean strike, he severed its head, its body dissipating into embers and ash.

June exhaled, feeling the weight of exhaustion from pushing her new fusion magic. "I think that worked."

Arlon nodded. "Yeah. And we're just getting started."

They exchanged a glance before pressing deeper into the marsh, where even greater threats awaited.

---

Their journey started fast.

Arlon had considered scouting the area first, mapping out a safe route, but that plan fell apart the moment they set foot in the marsh.

The Named Monsters attacked instantly.

Unlike the mindless beasts they had encountered before, these Keldars were intelligent.

However, their intelligence didn't manifest in speech or diplomacy—only in battle.

They were towering creatures, each at least twice the size of an average human, their monstrous forms exuding raw power.

They didn't speak like the NPCs back in town, only the war cries they liked to shout.

Instead, they moved with a silent, eerie precision, their hulking bodies navigating the marshland with unsettling ease.

But neither Arlon nor June hesitated.

June had already reverted to treating the Keldars like mobs in a game, her mind set solely on battle.

Each wave of enemies fell under the relentless power of her fusion magic, flames and frost intertwining into a deadly storm.

And Arlon? He was already used to it. The battlefield was where he thrived.

With a flicker of golden light, Arlon activated his Eyes of KET**, his vision sharpening as enemy information flooded his mind.

He scanned each Keldar, assessing their strengths and weaknesses.

While not all were Named Monsters, most of them bore the distinction, their levels ranging between 145 and 160.

It wasn't the most efficient leveling ground, but it was enough.

Arlon was already far ahead, and he knew the enemies here would be sufficient to push him to level 150 without any interference from the other players.

He tightened his grip on his sword and pressed deeper into the marsh, June following close behind.

The thick fog curled around them, and the sound of shifting water echoed ominously. They knew more threats lurked ahead.

And they were ready for them.

---

Arlon and June had been hunting in Samera Marsh for three days, and now, it was Friday.

The marsh was vast—so vast that even Arlon, despite all his knowledge from his past life, couldn't claim to have explored every inch of it.

Twisting pathways, shifting landscapes, and near-endless fog made navigation a challenge, even for someone with his experience.

Yet, for all its size, Samera Marsh had little to offer beyond its experience points.

There were no hidden treasures, no grand dungeons, and no rare materials worth farming.

It was a place designed purely for grinding levels, a proving ground for those strong enough to endure it.

Still, Arlon continued forward, his goal clear.

He was level 147 now—on the verge of triggering the title quest that would mark a major milestone in his journey.

But that wasn't the only reason he was heading toward the Samera Stone.

He had another agenda.

Agema had left something behind. He was sure of it.

The greatest magician in Trion's history wouldn't have scattered her legacy randomly across the world.

There had to be a reason, a pattern, a purpose behind everything she did.

And right now, the Samera Stone was his best clue.

June had also made significant progress, leveling up to 113.

Arlon had been sharing experience points with her, knowing full well it slowed his own growth.

But he didn't mind. In the long run, strengthening June would only make things move faster, not slower.

She was already proving her worth time and time again.

By the end of the day, they finally reached the Samera Stone.

A massive monolith, ancient and imposing, stood at the heart of the marsh.

Its obsidian-like surface pulsed faintly with a deep violet glow, as if the stone itself was alive.

The mist around it seemed heavier, thicker—almost unnatural.

But something was wrong.

"What the hell!?" Arlon exclaimed, his usual composure breaking for the first time in a while.

June tensed, gripping her staff. "What is it? Isn't this stone what you were looking for?"

Arlon didn't answer immediately. His mind was racing, scanning every memory he had of this place from his past life.

Something was different

Isn't this...
