Chapter 64: Accidentally Killed Geese
Before Su Ye could argue, Geese Howard dismissed his own assumption.
"No, that's impossible. Jeffe's lover was an ugly, short, balding man. You look nothing like him!"
Su Ye was speechless. Sure, Old Su wasn't as striking as he was, but calling him ugly was a bit much. And "short, balding man"? That was pure slander.
Geese Howard's comments were clearly tainted by prejudice, fueled by his disdain for Dragon Country people and perhaps a tinge of jealousy. After all, his junior sister—beautiful and talented—had chosen Old Su.
If the junior sister had been his, wouldn't the master's legacy have been his too?
"Stop speculating. I have nothing to do with Jeffe. I'm here simply because I find you annoying and want to cause trouble."
With that, Su Ye launched a flaming punch straight at Geese Howard's face.
Geese's expression shifted. "Bajiquan? You're a disciple of Bajiquan?"
He knew well—anyone bold enough to confront him was either seeking revenge or here to clean up Bajiquan's reputation. Either way, hesitation wasn't an option.
"Raging Storm!"
Geese Howard raised both hands, gathering energy before slamming them into the ground. A violent burst of blue-purple energy erupted around him, like a colossal explosion.
In The King of Fighters, Terry defeated Geese's Raging Storm with just a basic Power Wave and even punched him off the tower. That unexpected ending shocked fans.
Now, Su Ye used the same Flaming Punch against Geese's Raging Storm. The result was equally surprising, especially to Mary.
Geese's ultimate move was imposing, covering a six-meter radius and towering over two meters high. Mary wouldn't dare charge into that.
But Su Ye charged through the storm, ignoring the damage, and landed a flaming punch squarely on Geese's chest.
With the strength of Spider-Man and the power of the Flaming Punch, Geese felt his chest cave in. His breath faltered, and he nearly vomited bile.
Su Ye didn't stop there. Following up with a rising uppercut, he sent Geese airborne, then launched into a series of kicks targeting Geese's groin.
Skill after skill, Su Ye unleashed a relentless combo, finishing with an ultimate move—Energy Fountain.
By the time Su Ye finished, Geese was unrecognizable. Falling from the sky, he hit the ground lifelessly.
Su Ye had finally demonstrated that Spider-Man's raw strength, paired with Bajiquan and chi techniques, could indeed kill someone—even a boss-level figure like Geese Howard.
Without even needing to fall from the tower, Geese's life force dissipated, and he died on the spot.
"You… you killed someone?"
Mary stood frozen, utterly shocked. She was just an 18-year-old aspiring private investigator, unprepared to witness a death—especially that of Geese Howard, the top boss of South Town.
Su Ye was surprised too, though it felt oddly fitting.
Terry could kill Geese in a rage after losing Angelina. With Spider-Man's powers, why couldn't he?
Blame Geese for calling Old Su ugly, which enraged Su Ye enough to unleash his full strength.
That combo? It was for Old Su.
However, killing someone in front of an intern detective was problematic. So, Su Ye casually kicked Geese's body off the rooftop.
"Out of sight, out of mind."
Walking back to Mary, Su Ye stopped just inches from her. Their breaths mingled in the cool night air.
Mary trembled but held her ground, refusing to let her legs give out.
"Want to hear a story? The tale of Geese Howard and Jeff Bogard."
Mary wanted to retort, "Who the hell wants to hear a murderer's story?" But looking at Su Ye's face, feeling his burning breath, she found herself nodding involuntarily.
Geese had mentioned Jeff and some "lover" earlier. Maybe it was worth hearing. After all, listening to stories and finding clues was an essential skill for any private investigator.
Mary mentally justified her decision and nodded again.
"Over twenty years ago, Geese Howard was a penniless illegitimate child, kicked out by his family. To gain strength, he apprenticed under a master of Bajiquan. That's where he met his junior sister, Jeff."
"But Geese was ruthless and ambitious. Their master, seeing this, chose to pass the legacy on to Jeff instead."
"Years later, Geese used his martial arts to carve out an empire in South Town, using whatever means necessary. I'm sure you, as a detective, know all about his methods."
"But even with power and territory, Geese wasn't satisfied. His master's legacy remained his obsession. For that, he killed Jeff."
"And the so-called 'lover' Geese mentioned? That was my father."
Su Ye wrapped up the story, his gaze fixed on Mary's widening eyes.
"So, do you still think I'm just a cold-blooded murderer?"
Mary quickly shook her head. If Su Ye's story was true, he wasn't a murderer but a hero avenging his family. Given Old Su's connection to Jeff, it wasn't wrong to call this avenging his "mother."
Still…
"How do we get out of here now? Looks like the building's surrounded." Mary glanced downward, avoiding Su Ye's eyes.
For a girl her age, a hero's tale of vengeance was dangerously captivating. If she stared too long, she feared she might lose control and cling to him.
"Don't worry. I've got a way."
Su Ye smiled reassuringly and wrapped an arm around Mary's waist, just like when they climbed up.
"Close your eyes. No matter what happens, don't open them until I say so." His voice was soft but firm.
"Okay." Mary obeyed, clinging to Su Ye's waist instinctively, just like before.
With one hand supporting her, Su Ye leapt off the rooftop of Geese Tower.
