I Only Tame Dragons

Chapter 200: The Last Sacrifice

Seraphina gritted her teeth. He wasn't just keeping up—he was forcing her to work for every hit.

With a burst of speed, she feinted left before spinning and bringing her blade down from above. Horizon tilted his head slightly, his eyes narrowing in amusement as he sidestepped just enough for the strike to miss.

Then, he retaliated.

His sword came at her from the side, fast, controlled, and lethal. Seraphina barely had time to block, her arms straining as she met his attack. The impact sent her skidding back across the ice, her boots struggling to find traction.

Von seized the opportunity, firing another volley of bullets.

Seraphina twisted, barely dodging, but one bullet clipped her wing, forcing her to drop lower to the ground.

Frigid advanced, raising his shield. He slammed it into the ground, sending a wave of frost surging toward her. Ice coiled around her feet, slowing her even further.

Horizon was there in an instant.

He struck. She blocked. Their weapons clashed over and over again, neither willing to back down.

The audience was enthralled.

This wasn't just a fight. This was a battle between two titans, each refusing to yield.

Seraphina was alone—but she wasn't finished yet.

With a final burst of energy, she pushed forward, her golden flames roaring to life once more.

The battlefield had been reduced to a frozen war zone, the once-scorched ground now layered with frost and broken remnants of shattered spells. The ice still clung to Seraphina's golden wings, but she refused to let it hinder her. Her breathing was heavy, her body aching from exhaustion, but her grip on her Celestial Blade remained firm.

Horizon stood across from her, his sword steady in his hand, his back straight. Unlike before, there was no longer amusement in his eyes—only focus. He wasn't holding back. He was fighting to win.

The Dracolich loomed behind him, its skeletal body radiating dark energy, while the Giant Hawk circled above, its metallic feathers sparking with electricity.

They were the last threats standing.

And Seraphina . . . was alone.

She wasn't afraid.

She dashed forward, her golden wings propelling her with speed faster than lightning. Her sword slashed toward Horizon in a streak of divine light, and he met her head-on, their blades colliding in a burst of energy. The impact sent a shockwave through the battlefield, cracking the ice beneath their feet.

They moved like phantoms, blurs of steel and radiance, neither willing to yield. Seraphina's strikes came harder, faster, but Horizon blocked them with calculated precision. Every swing, every feint, every desperate attempt to break through his defenses—he countered them all.

She gritted her teeth. He was reading her movements too well. Was he really a tamer? He could be a swordmaster.

Horizon twisted his sword at an angle, forcing Seraphina to overextend. In that brief second of vulnerability, he struck.

His blade slashed across her armor, sending her staggering back, golden sparks flying from the impact. She barely managed to plant her foot before Horizon closed the distance again, his next strike aimed straight for her heart.

And that would have been the end—

If Aria and Dawnfire hadn't acted.

From the edges of the battlefield, the two remaining Wingless Valkyrie, barely standing, raised their hands one last time.

Aria's voice rang out in a desperate melody as she chanted, her magic intertwining with Dawnfire's flames. The air shimmered with the combined force of their final spell. A golden, fiery barrier exploded outward, engulfing Seraphina in a protective shield.

The moment Horizon's sword connected with the barrier, the entire battlefield lit up.

A pulse of radiant energy blasted Horizon backward, his form momentarily engulfed in light. He skidded across the ice, planting his sword into the ground to keep himself steady.

For a split second, Seraphina had the opening she needed.

She launched forward, her blade glowing with the combined energy of Aria and Dawnfire's final gift. With a battle cry, she slashed downward at Horizon— Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire

And for the first time in the fight, he was too slow to block.

The blade tore through his armor, leaving a deep wound across his chest. Blood splattered against the frost-covered ground, and for a moment, it looked as if Horizon would fall.

But Von and Frigid didn't hesitate.

Von fired a barrage of bullets toward Seraphina, forcing her back, while Frigid slammed his shield into the ground, unleashing another wave of ice to slow her movements. Horizon coughed, his body trembling from the wound, but he still stood.

Aria and Dawnfire, having used the last of their mana, collapsed where they stood, unconscious.

Now, only Von, Frigid, and Horizon and his summons remained.

Seraphina's eyes flashed with determination. Even as exhaustion tried to pull her down, even with the overwhelming odds against her, she refused to let this battle end without giving it her all.

She moved like the wind.

Before Von could react, she was already at his side.

One swift strike—and he crumbled to the ground, momentarily unconscious. She used a skill that would knock him out for a moment enough to buy her time to deal with Horizon. As long as she could defeat Horizon, the rest was easy.

Frigid barely had time to lift his shield before she spun, her golden blade slamming into the thick ice barrier. The force was so great that it shattered his defenses, sending cracks through his entire armor.

One final blow to his chest—and Frigid fell.

Seraphina exhaled sharply, standing in the center of the battlefield, her golden aura flickering like a dying flame.

She had taken out everyone.

Everyone except Horizon and his summons.

The battlefield fell into an eerie silence.

Now, it was just Seraphina and Horizon, standing alone.

The Dracolich and Giant Hawk remained, but they did not move. Horizon didn't command them to.

He wanted to finish this fight himself.

Seraphina lifted her sword. Horizon raised his own.

They didn't speak.

They just charged.

Their blades collided in a final, earth-shaking clash, the sheer force of their attacks sending a massive shockwave across the battlefield. The audience watched, breathless, as two titans fought with every ounce of strength they had left.
