I Spread my Genes to Level Up in the Apocalypse

Chapter 239: Establishing a Sect!

Ray paused in place, his eyes narrowing slightly.

He wouldn't trust this guy even a little, despite their alliance. There was a key difference between them that could never be bridged—the difference of their universe or realm!

However, his purpose for this alliance was merely to gain an understanding of that mysterious energy. Now that Ray had uncovered its secrets, he didn't mind turning around and battling this Demon God once again.

Casually, Ray nodded and agreed to the Demon God's demands and the questions he posed.

After a long time, a portal materialized in the real world. From it emerged two figures: a tall human and a black bear.

"You take care of your demon race. As for me, I have something important to attend to."

"Hmm." The Demon God nodded and shot off as a streak of light, traveling rapidly across light-years.

Ray, meanwhile, landed casually on the ground and glanced around.

"Hehe."

Before him stood a group of weary and injured cultivators, their gazes tentative. Fear lingered in their eyes, but so did a flicker of hope.

"Hello," Ray said with a smile.

Though his voice was soft, it resonated clearly in their ears, as though he were speaking directly beside each of them.

"We greet the Lord," one of the smarter cultivators said, bowing deeply in reverence.

The others quickly followed suit, all lowering themselves in submission before him.

Ray smiled mysteriously, saying nothing as his eyes swept over them.

The tension was palpable, thick with uncertainty. Their very lives hung on the edge, waiting to be determined by a single word from Ray.

This was the essence of true power—an ultimate strength capable of obliterating anything and anyone. Before such might, they were as insignificant as insects, easily crushed at will. Actually, they weren't even worthy of being called cockroaches in his eyes.

"Haha, why are you all so nervous?" Ray said, his tone light as he sat down. A throne materialized behind him, cradling him in comfort. With an easy smile, he added, "I'm just here to make an announcement of some sort."

Silence.

Everyone remained bowed, their heads low, not daring to utter a word. Ray, too, sat in silence, his gaze lingering meaningfully on each of them.

The smart cultivator hesitantly spoke, "What is the announcement, my Lord?"

Ray's hearty chuckle echoed through the air as he replied with a broad smile, "The announcement is that I'm founding a sect—the Heavenly Dao Killing Sect. And the good news? Everyone here is joining."

"Woah, what?"

"Huh?"

The crowd was left stunned, their expressions frozen in disbelief. They exchanged bewildered glances, struggling to process what they had just heard.

"What? Didn't you all hear me?" Ray's smile vanished, his expression turning icy.

"No, no! We are honored to join such a pristine sect!" The smart cultivator reacted quickly, bowing deeply and frantically banging his head on the ground.

Ray nodded in satisfaction, then fixed his gaze on the remaining cultivators.

"What about you all?" he asked, his tone calm yet laced with authority.

"We will definitely follow you, my Lord," they answered in unison, bowing deeply.

"Haha, good, good," Ray said with a pleased smile. He turned his attention to the smart cultivator who had bowed first. "What is your name?"

"My name is Cao Yuan, Lord," the cultivator replied respectfully, bowing once again. Then, with some hesitation, he asked, "May this junior dare to ask his Lord's name?"

"Well, it's Ray."

"What a weird name," Cao Yuan thought to himself but didn't dare say it aloud.

Ray's gaze turned sharp, as though piercing through Cao Yuan's very thoughts.

"Did he think he could hide his thoughts from me?" Ray muttered to himself, shaking his head dismissively.

Still, he needed a guinea pig, and two candidates had already caught his attention.

Ray turned his gaze to the side, where a woman with long, flowing golden hair stood silently, her cold expression unwavering. Still, beneath her icy stare, Ray could distinctly sense a hidden warmth.

"Come, Luo Shuchun," Ray called out with a chuckle. "You are the first disciple of our sect, and this guy, Cao Yuan, is the second disciple."

Luo Shuchun bit her cherry-red lips, hesitating for a moment before gracefully walking through the air. Her steps seemed to land on invisible stairs as she descended slowly, her every movement exuding elegance.

"What do you want from me?" she asked, her tone carrying a hint of annoyance.

"Didn't you hear me?" Ray's brows twitched.

"No," she replied flatly.

"Too bad then, I don't repeat myself twice."

"Then too bad as well—I'm leaving." Luo Shuchun pouted, her cold expression unchanging.

"You…" Ray looked at her, a mix of disbelief and speechlessness.

"You're really interesting. Why don't you bow to my power like these people?"

"Because I feel like you wouldn't mind," Luo Shuchun replied honestly, her cold demeanor unshaken.

"You're right—I don't really mind," Ray said with a laugh, tilting his head toward the sky. "For some reason, you really remind me of Vanessa and Freya."

"And who are they?" she asked, her cold face giving way to a puzzled expression.

"Well, you can see for yourself."

Ray waved his hand, and the void instantly distorted. Within moments, the figures of two women appeared, their forms shimmering as they emerged from the rift.

"Ray, why did you call us?" asked a pink-haired woman with a frown, her attention divided between Ray and the mirror in her hand as she inspected her own reflection.

Beside her, another woman was holding a small child, gently feeding him. The little boy's wide eyes sparkled with curiosity and excitement as he eagerly took in his surroundings.

"Freya, Vanessa, how are you two?" Ray asked, rubbing the back of his head.

"How would we be?" Freya replied, her cheeks puffed out in mild annoyance.

"Healthy and happy?" Ray guessed with a small grin.

"Yeah, I guess so," Freya said with a shake of her head. "Now send me back—I need to take care of our children."

"Fine," Ray said, nodding. With a casual wave of his hand, Freya vanished from sight, leaving no trace of her presence.

Vanessa remained silent, her gaze shifting to the cold woman with long, flowing golden hair. "Is this your new woman that you're showing off to us?" she asked with a teasing smirk.

"Hey, don't look at me like that," Ray replied, raising his hands defensively. "She just reminded me of you girls, that's all."

He shrugged casually before continuing, "Anyway, wanna build a sect with me?"

"Sure," Vanessa replied with a yawn, her tone indifferent. "I was bored anyway."

"Good."

And just like that, the Heavenly Dao Killing Sect was born!
