Chapter 472: 472 Invincible: The Invasion of the Zombie Army, The Threat of Rex Splode, The Dupli-Kate Flirtation and Superhero Recruit.

People were still crying over the loss of their heroes, but the world is cruel, for there are always those who couldn't care less if you're having a bad day.

In the center of Chicago, once again, a portal opened, and the people immediately began to run, as they knew what was coming. This world is harsh and unpleasant, with many dying in every invasion.

Allen watched as Flaxan soldiers emerged wearing a new model of armor. Their tanks, once white, were now stained black and red.

These Flaxans marched in an orderly manner, not appearing scared, nor showing any emotion. Allen squinted his eyes—this was unexpected, but they didn't attack civilians. They were cold, advancing with a clear goal in mind.

Allen moved forward as the crowd hurriedly passed by him. A couple of people recognized Allen, others found it strange that someone was walking in the opposite direction. After all, Allen didn't dress like a superhero or a supervillain. They all, as if drawn to something, stopped to watch him walk.

The young man continued, while people unconsciously avoided bumping into him and cleared his path. He wore a smile that combined amusement and confidence, his eyes filled with interest and curiosity, with a calm and elegant posture, exuding an overwhelming, imposing aura.

The screams began to diminish, the people stopped running, and the fear vanished. Something was whispering to the people not to worry, not because the savior was there, but because the truly terrifying thing was not interdimensional invaders, ancient gods, or cosmic beings. The truly terrifying thing was the human walking calmly with that smile. But don't worry, because he was on their side…

The Flaxans' sensors went crazy. Their enemy had appeared, and the change in the army was already visible. Thousands of soldiers with technological armor pointed their weapons at Allen, as their suits seemed to activate.

"Flaxan gentlemen, you're forbidden to come to this world. I thought my warning was enough," Allen smiled playfully while mocking them. "Of course, you can leave, destroy your portals, and I won't pursue you, or you can stay and receive a hefty fine for your crimes~"

Thousands of shots rang out simultaneously, and Allen created a Kido barrier. However, to his surprise, the lasers began to corrode it as if they were some kind of acid.

"Well, you chose the second option. Don't say I didn't warn you!" Allen raised his hand, forming a gun with his fingers. "Bang."

One tank was destroyed, but the others took out black spheres from their backs. These spheres began to spin. This created a black curtain covering the tanks.

"..." Allen narrowed his eyes and used his telekinesis to destroy those tanks. However, it didn't work.

"Hey, that's cheating!"

[They are gravitational force fields…]

"First, my spiritual energy shields, then my telekinesis... You really went out of your way to screw me, didn't you?..." Allen chuckled but didn't stop his actions. He used his palm to launch multiple cuts through space. The tanks were sliced apart effortlessly, along with the gravity spheres. "Unfortunately, I have many abilities, and I doubt you can counter them all..."

By this point, the Flaxan soldiers should have fled in panic, but they didn't. They kept shooting at him. Allen disappeared and grabbed one Flaxan, then delivered a blow to his chest that broke several bones, but the alien didn't flinch.

"Hmm, normally people die after I do that…"

The Flaxan raised his hands with the trembling weapon and aimed it at Allen, but that trembling wasn't from pain—it was because of the injury Allen had inflicted.

Allen vanished and appeared far away. "If this is the situation, it's better to disintegrate them directly…"

Wednesday – Allen, cut them into pieces.

"Yes, Your Majesty." Allen didn't even question Wednesday before doing what she asked. With a snap of his fingers, dozens of dismantling cuts took out a third of the Flaxans. But unexpectedly, they didn't scream in pain, nor did they stop attacking. One who was cut in half grabbed his rifle and continued firing.

Makima – They knew their soldiers feared you, so they turned them into this, so the same thing wouldn't happen.

It was an army of zombies. Whether they were missing an arm or a leg, they didn't complain and kept attacking.

"Zombies… Oh, come on! I don't like zombies! They bring back bad memories"

The shots were heading toward his new position, and Allen created another spiritual energy barrier that quickly melted. However, before it could finish, he regenerated it even faster.

Yoruichi – Is it fun to give them hope?

Diana – I don't think it'll help much if they're zombies. They won't be scared...

Angelica (Gilgamesh F.) – You're free to have fun, but the longer you take, the more likely someone will steal the prey...

No one in the Chat was worried about Allen. He shrugged and summoned Divine Comedy. Without wasting any time, he unsheathed it and raised it.

"Lasciate ogni speranza, voi che entrate (Abandon all hope, ye who enter here)"

The Zanpakuto created by Crown Clown gleamed momentarily as its figure reflected in windows and mirrors. Like puppets with their strings cut, all the Flaxans fell to the ground, never to rise again.

...

Rukia – What did you do?!

Nanao – It's impossible...

Rangiku – Huh?~

Unohana – It's a terrifying technique. Allen forced their souls to pass into the afterlife while they were still alive… honey, be careful with that technique.

The Flaxians were not dead, even though Allen refers to them as zombies; their minds just were lobotomized or something similar.

"Don't worry, it only works so easily because they had already lost their free will..."

A person's will is a form of strength. Something like Haki, the manifestation of it. A person who has lost their will cannot resist this technique, which is called "Inferno di Dante."

It seemed like it was all over. Some people stood still, staring in shock, saying nothing. No matter how the Flaxans attacked, they couldn't even land a scratch on Allen, and it seemed he always had more powers hidden up his sleeve.

Allen smiled, seeing that the portal wasn't closing, so he walked intending to cross it. However, at that moment, Eve descended from the sky.

"Mr. Walker!"

Allen looked in her direction, and the superheroes from his team and Invincible were also coming. It seemed like they had rushed, but they arrived too late... the party was over.

"You're a bit late, girl" Just as Allen was distracted, the portal closed, preventing him from entering his world. Allen sighed, returning to his lazy attitude.

"I'm sorry," Eve said apologetically. She wasn't in the mood to be a superhero that day, but upon hearing that the Flaxans were there and that Allen was fighting them, she rushed over. Unfortunately, she didn't arrive in time. No one did—not even Omni-Man, who had watched from the sky a moment before leaving. He had thought about entering the portal, but decided against it and increased his level of caution against Allen.

Robot, Rex, and Invincible stayed at a distance. Meanwhile, Eve continued to approach Allen.

Her eyes, tired and somewhat red, had a spark as if her crappy day had improved just by seeing him. Maybe many others feared him and felt pressured around him, but for Eve, he was a greater source of comfort, and she felt at ease around him.

Eve smiled as she landed in front of Allen and immediately looked with curiosity at the katana in his hand. She had seen it appear out of nowhere. But what struck her was that this time, she couldn't see Allen's attack, which made her assume it wasn't related to any molecular manipulation abilities.

"It's called Clown Crown: Divine Comedy Version… it's a sword made of spiritual energy…"

Eve's eyes widened. Although she was accustomed to superpowers, something like spiritual energy was very strange. Allen, of course, would keep his promise to answer Eve's questions.

"In this world, souls exist. Spiritual energy would be the strength of a soul compared to others… I don't know if anyone other than me can do this, but souls definitely exist in this world…"

Eve was stunned, then her eyes lit up. If it had been anyone else, she might have doubted their words, but everything that came from Allen's mouth had an absolute certainty that made it impossible to question. Eve took out a notebook to write down what Allen said.

"Haha, you don't have to write it down, there won't be a test," Allen laughed sincerely at seeing Eve's cute act.

She froze, because although Allen was always smiling, whether it was mocking, malicious, or confident, seeing his genuine smile was rare.

Allen smiled, pretending not to notice that the girl was captivated for a second, "What's the matter? Is there something on my face?".

"N-no!" Eve remained stunned, but realizing it, she turned around, embarrassed.

*Cough

While Allen looked at Eve with amusement, a girl in a purple suit approached him.

"Excuse me…"

"Yes?"

Allen looked at the girl and recognized her; it was Dupli-Kate. She had a mischievous smile as she looked Allen up and down.

"Excuse me, I'm Katherine Cha, and... I just wanted to ask you yeah, do you have a girlfriend?"

"Huh?!" Eve, who was by his side, confused by Kate's sudden approach, almost cursed at how direct Kate was.

"Yes, in fact, I have several girlfriends, some wives and mistresses as well."

"Hahaha, that proves you're an amazing and charming man!~" Kate played along but Allen wasn't kidding. Kate leaned forward with a flirtatious touch, "Then you won't mind one more girlfriend?"

Allen smiled with a playful gleam in his eyes. "Girl, that's illegal…"

Kate, understanding what Allen meant, got closer, stood on tiptoe, and whispered, "Only for two more months~"

Albedo – That bitch!

Bocchi – Here we go again…

Makima – ...

Esdeath – Tsk…

...

Eve frowned, but seeing what to see in a joking conversation, she didn't bother; you know, what kind of girl would believe that Allen has a harem?

As Eve and Kate talked to Allen, the rest felt like spectators and began to grow impatient, especially Invincible, who hadn't been able to shine as much as he would have liked. There was also Rex, who felt uncomfortable with Eve so close. He had indeed intended to deceive her with Kate Cha, but it was still unpleasant to see her flirting with another man so soon.

The portal closed, meaning there was nothing to be done, and Rex didn't want to stay anymore. As he put his hands behind his neck, he clicked his tongue, "Tsk, I told you it was useless to come..."

Robot looked at Rex, "It didn't matter if the odds of The Regulator failing were 0.003%, we had to come..."

Rex stared stiffly at Robot, "You made me come for less than a one percent chance we'd have to fight."

"Rex, we're no longer Teen Team, we're the New Guardians. People, the world expects us to be present..."

Robot's words hit Rex, and he decided to stay quiet. Still, watching Eve follow that bastard like a puppy was unpleasant. Of course, thinking about Eve's personality, she wouldn't try anything with him; at least, that was Rex's thought.

'We're done. There's no point in worrying about this. It's better to make fun of stupid Invincible... wait, he doesn't seem jealous. It's more like he's worried about Eve. Well, he's right. The fact that we're not dating doesn't mean I'll let some bastard take advantage of her...'

With that justification, Rex walked over, mocking Mark for not having the courage to do it.

"Hey, you!" Rex said with disgust, walking up to Allen and grabbing his clothes, "I don't trust you. I don't think you have good intentions, and I'll make sure to keep an eye on you, idiot."

The crowd was in shock. No one expected Rex to do something like this. There was no justification for his actions.

"This is unexpected..."

Allen remained calm, looking at Rex's hand on his clothes, before smiling. The temperature of the room seemed to drop as Allen frowned. He wasn't someone who would get upset over a few insults, but no one liked being insulted without reason.

"Hey, kid..."

Allen grabbed Rex's hand and broke it. Before Rex could scream, Allen covered his mouth and stared directly into his eyes.

"At what point did you think you had any right to talk to me like that?"

"Mmm!"

"Am I your father? Your uncle? Your grandfather? Your friend?! Am I in debt to you?!"

Rex desperately shook his head. Invincible tried to intervene, but Allen looked at him for a second, sending chills down his spine. Invincible took a step back.

Rex turned pale as he realized what he had just done. He had lost all courage and had to endure the pain of his broken hand. His frustration had made him forget who he was dealing with. This guy had appeared out of nowhere and massacred a bunch of aliens without flinching. He even questioned Omni-Man and stood up to him. (they learned that from Cecil).

Some people confuse cordiality with weakness. The reason Rex can speak to Allen this way without being terrified is because Allen allows it. This was an act of good faith, but his courtesy was met with insults. That definitely put Allen in a bad mood.

"In all my life, I've never met anyone so eager to be killed!" Allen mocked, seeing Rex cry. "Don't start a fight if you're going to cry!"

Allen released Rex and he took a step back, about to apologize, but it was too late, and everything went black for Rex.

"...I'll only let you go through this once for Eve..."

...

Hours later, Rex woke up in a hospital bed. His body ached all over, and he noticed that his head was bandaged. He was still alive, so it seemed that Allen had shown mercy.

"Hello, Rex..." said Robot, sitting beside him. "Your actions were reckless..."

"..." Rex couldn't respond...

"I assume from your look that you've learned your lesson... I'm afraid you won't be able to participate in the selection of new members for the Guardians..."

"...!"

"Don't worry, you have a place in the New Guardians..." Robot stood up from his seat. "You can thank Allen Walker for that. He interceded and gave you a chance..."

"...?!"

"Rest, Rex..."

...

(The Next Day, New Guardians Base)

The next day, at the New Guardians headquarters, there was a call to add more members, as there were very few. Various heroes attended, some unknown, others well-known. Of course, unlike in the canon, Cecil had already accepted the Teen Team as the core members of the New Guardians, but even so, Robot, as the leader, felt that they should be reevaluated.

Allen also attended, invited by Eve, although he planned to attend anyway to check out the aspiring guardians of the globe. It's a shame they don't realize what they're getting themselves into.

Allen arrived at the headquarters on time, only to be greeted by a Robot drone that guided him to the training area, where a crowd had already gathered.

"You came," Eve smiled as she approached to greet him.

Allen looked at Eve but didn't immediately respond. His eyes scanned the place, then he looked at her again, "Yes, but it seems most people aren't aware of the dangers they'll face in the future..."

In short, Viltrumites. The New Guardians are the first line of defense and the last against the Viltrumites. But as expected, it's Invincible, the protagonist, who ultimately ends up getting beaten up by the Viltrumites, including his father.

Allen nodded at Robot and headed for the bleachers with Eve following behind to watch from there. Kate seemed frustrated and stood up to follow them, sitting next to Allen and earning a disdainful look from Eve.

"What's wrong, Katherine? You don't like that place?" Eve huffed.

Kate didn't expect the sudden attack, but instead of backing down, she smiled, "Same to you. Just look at Invincible. He's alone. Why don't you go keep him company, and let me entertain Allen..."

"If by entertain you mean to annoy him, I won't let you..."

"Can you guys fight later, or go do it somewhere else?" Allen said calmly, but with his gaze fixed on a man wearing technological armor, the only superhero aspiring to be part of the Guardians without powers.

Both girls were embarrassed by their actions and fell silent after being scolded.

Robot explained that he already had everyone's information, so it would be a round of battles to assess their abilities.

A few dull matches passed by. Allen seemed to be watching walking corpses. No strength, no speed, no adaptability. These superheroes would just be cannon fodder...

Then it was Eve's turn. She smiled and looked at Allen before flying down, seemingly wanting to show off her abilities. Allen smiled and watched.

Eve's opponent was a muscular blonde man, with a Hulk-like physique, but still looking human. Of course, the only resemblance was his physique, as his strength was around Captain America's level.

The man winked at Eve, flirting with her, which made her angry, so she decided to beat him up.

Eve easily dodged his attacks and fired energy blasts at his legs, causing him to lose balance. Eve wanted to use her punch with solidified energy to strike back, but at the last moment, she looked at Allen, and Eve seemed to change. Her gaze became more focused, and the energy turned into plasma.

"...!"

Allen vanished and appeared to stop Eve's attack.

"Girl, do you want to kill your opponent?"

Eve smiled before passing out. Allen caught her and took her to the bleachers, telling Robot that she had just passed out from exhaustion. He laid her down on the bleachers with her head resting on his lap, which made Kate grumble, but Allen didn't care.

Allen continued to watch the fight without paying attention to the girl watching him from afar.
