I Suddenly Became Rich, But I Have No Idea How to Spend the Money

Chapter 13

It had been about four weeks since I purchased the Lexus.

Finally, the day of delivery had arrived.

The LX was a highly sought-after vehicle, and I had been told that the process might take longer, but everything progressed smoothly and unexpectedly fast, leading to my car being delivered in just four weeks.

With the shipping date from the factory confirmed, I chose the closest Sunday as the delivery day.

I had been eagerly anticipating this moment, and the excitement had been bubbling up within me since the day before. However, as a fully grown adult over the age of twenty, I managed to get a good night’s sleep in preparation for the big day.

On the day of delivery, I arrived at the dealership right when they opened. Though I felt a little embarrassed, I went through the official delivery ceremony, received the keys to my brand-new LX, and drove home with a beaming smile on my face.

Going straight home felt somewhat dull, so I decided to take my new car for a drive. I set my sights on Kyoto.

I had plans to customize my LX in the future, but for the time being, I wanted to enjoy it in its pure, unmodified state.

After all, the joy of driving it was enough. There was no need for any enhancements just yet.

During my drive to Kyoto, I was overwhelmed with emotion. The ride quality of the Lexus LX was outstanding, and the fact that I had acquired such a magnificent car filled me with immense joy.

The journey from central Osaka to Kyoto takes about an hour. For a young man who had just gotten his hands on a car, this distance might have seemed a bit short, but I figured it was better than embarking on an overzealous long drive, exhausting myself, and risking an accident.

Still wrapped in excitement, I arrived in Kyoto and reached a hotel I had long wanted to visit.

Kyoto is home to numerous architectural marvels and famous landmarks. In recent years, the hotel industry in the city has seen remarkable growth, with many exquisite places to stay. Among them, there was one hotel I had always dreamed of visiting.

I had seen it in a magazine once and was immediately captivated.

It was the Suiran, a luxurious hotel located in Arashiyama.

I’m not here to advertise the Suiran, so I’ll spare the detailed descriptions, but if I were ever to host guests from overseas, without a doubt, I would have them stay here.

That’s just how exceptional this hotel is.

“My Lexus looks amazing in the early summer Kyoto scenery.”

As I handed my car over to the valet in the hotel parking lot, I took another look at my LX and thought so from the bottom of my heart.

Since I arrived around lunchtime, I decided to dine at the hotel’s restaurant. After my meal, I sipped matcha tea while admiring the breathtaking view of Arashiyama.

“This is the best…”

The words escaped from my mouth before I even realized it.

While basking in this feeling of fulfillment, I didn’t forget my gratitude toward Nakamura-san.

Ultimately, it was thanks to him that my fortunes had turned for the better.

I renewed my vow to repay him once I became an even greater person.

Since I was in Kyoto, I figured I might as well explore the city a bit.

“When in Kyoto, you have to try mackerel sushi.”

Many people might already know this, but Kyoto is famous for its delicious mackerel sushi. This is likely due to the city’s historical distance from the sea.

With that thought, I drove to a renowned mackerel sushi restaurant near Yasaka Shrine.

As luck would have it, my visit to Kyoto coincided with the early summer season, which meant the restaurant had just started selling their signature hamo (pike conger) sushi. Seizing the opportunity, I purchased both the hamo sushi and the mackerel sushi.

Afterward, I wandered around Kyoto in my car, taking in the sights at my own pace. Before heading back to Osaka, I picked up a generous amount of yatsuhashi as a souvenir for myself.

By the way, the Lexus LX I bought was in a pristine pearl white color.

Worried about water stains, I had contacted Lexus before delivery and arranged for the car to be coated with glass protection and wax.

Seeing the finished car only added to my satisfaction.

After about an hour’s drive back from Kyoto, I arrived at my newly secured parking spot—the one I had barely managed to find and lease before the car was delivered.

Parking my Lexus LX, I grabbed the mackerel and hamo sushi and made my way home.

“All that’s left is the house… I can’t wait…!!”

Once I moved in, I planned to invite Nakamura-san over for a small celebration.

Now, who else should I invite besides Nakamura-san?

Mom would probably help with the move…

Pondering these thoughts, I ended my day, savoring the sushi in my home.
