Chapter 129: You Will Ultimately Die by My Hands
“They’ve finally arrived?”
Li Xun showed no sign of surprise.
Back in the Phoenix Origin Secret Realm, he had already anticipated this day. Initially, he thought the Beast Taming Sect would intercept him on his way back from Zhen Tian City. However, he hadn’t expected it to be delayed until today.
If they had come a month earlier, he might have been somewhat concerned, but now, he had no worries at all.
If necessary, he could choose to break through to the Life and Death Realm at any moment.
While the tribulation of advancing to the Life and Death Realm would be a great ordeal for him, it was a deadly zone for others. In a critical moment, he could use it to kill enemies—or even as a life-saving measure.
Most likely, no one would expect that a mid-stage Divine Power Realm cultivator could instantly summon a Life and Death Realm heavenly tribulation, catching his opponents off guard.
Buzz!
The Royal Spirit Boat let out a soft hum and transformed into a stream of light, disappearing into Li Xun’s palm.
“Nephew Li, what are you…?”
Elder Chen furrowed his brow slightly. At this moment, Li Xun putting away the Royal Spirit Boat clearly indicated that he intended to wait for the three Beast Taming Sect elders to arrive.
But the question was—
Wasn’t he being a bit too overconfident?
“As Elder Chen said, Yunzhou is filled with hidden dangers, and there are countless powerful figures lurking in the shadows. Moreover, the Great Chu Dynasty is still hunting down Fa Zhao.”
“If we are entangled with these three Beast Taming Sect elders within Yunzhou’s borders, it wouldn’t be a good situation for us,” Li Xun explained.
“That may be true, but facing them here… Nephew Li, are you confident?” Elder Chen asked gravely.
He knew Li Xun had a Life and Death Realm puppet, but puppets lacked independent thought and could only hold off one enemy. Elder Chen himself could take on another, which meant Li Xun would have to deal with a Life and Death Realm expert on his own.
He was genuinely concerned that Li Xun might not be up to the challenge.
Unless…
Elder Chen glanced toward the distant figures of the two Great Chu Dynasty powerhouses.
If those two were willing to intervene, today’s battle could be resolved easily.
However, the problem was that those two belonged to the Great Chu Dynasty. If they rashly entered Great Zhou’s territory and made a move, they would be handing Great Zhou a pretext to retaliate.
In the short term, it might not seem like a big issue, but if war ever broke out between the two dynasties, today’s actions could become a major political weapon for Great Zhou.
Only fools would recklessly intrude into Great Zhou and attack freely.
More importantly, the primary task of those two powerhouses was to prevent Fa Zhao from escaping Yunzhou into Great Zhou.
If, due to their distraction, Fa Zhao managed to escape, they wouldn’t dare return to Great Chu—because even if they did, they would face severe punishment.
Given all these factors, Elder Chen felt the current situation was highly unfavorable for them.
He glanced at Li Xun solemnly and made up his mind. If things went south, he would immediately take Li Xun and escape. With his late-stage Life and Death Realm strength, if he was determined to flee, the three Beast Taming Sect elders wouldn’t be able to stop them.
“Rest assured, Elder. Since I dare to stay here and wait for them, I have confidence in protecting myself.”
Li Xun’s voice was full of assurance.
“In that case, very well.”
Hearing Li Xun’s confident response, Elder Chen felt slightly relieved.
Before long—
Boom—!
An overwhelming wave of power, as bright as the scorching sun, surged from the horizon. It rolled in like a breaking celestial river, flooding hundreds of miles of space in an instant.
In the far distance—
Three small dots rapidly grew larger.
As they drew closer, Li Xun could now clearly see the three monstrous beasts.
On the left was a black flood dragon, stretching hundreds of feet long. Its entire body looked as though it was cast from steel, and under the sunlight, each of its scales gleamed with an icy luster.
In the center stood a white-furred ape, its burly frame resembling a towering white mountain. Its vigorous life force surged like a crimson tide, shaking the heavens in all directions.
On the right was a blue-feathered eagle, crowned with a single horn crackling with electric blue lightning. Every flap of its wings stirred the air, sending waves of wind and thunder howling across the sky.
Each of these three monstrous beasts was in the Life and Death Realm, their combined presence exerting an almost suffocating pressure, as though three demon kings had arrived.
Atop the heads of these beasts, three figures stood tall. Their expressions were indifferent, but a murderous intent flickered deep within their eyes as they gazed coldly at Li Xun from a distance.
“Li Xun, your time has come!”
Elder Mo, standing atop the black flood dragon, let out a wild laugh as his gaze locked onto Li Xun. After a long and exhausting pursuit, they had finally caught up to him just outside of Yunzhou.
“No one can kill a disciple of our Beast Taming Sect and walk away unpunished. Whoever does so must pay in blood!” Elder Miao declared grimly.
A terrifying killing aura radiated from him, almost taking physical form. The vegetation below withered and crumbled into dust in eerie silence.
“Elders, there’s no need to waste words with him!” Another Beast Taming Sect elder spoke coldly.
“This place is close to Yunzhou, and many powerful figures are on their way here to hunt down the remnants of the Great Bright Monastery. If we delay any longer, unexpected variables might arise!”
With that, he urged his beast forward.
The blue-feathered eagle under his feet erupted with divine light, resembling an ancient blue luan descending from the heavens. It dove toward Li Xun with overwhelming force.
Even before it fully descended, the terrifying pressure spread across the land, causing the ground to tremble violently. Cracks spread in all directions, carving deep fissures into the earth.
“Nephew Li, remember—your survival is the priority!”
Elder Chen reminded him solemnly. Stepping forward, he drew a long sword, transforming into a streak of divine light as he charged toward the incoming blue eagle.
The battle instantly entered an intense phase, with dazzling flashes of light engulfing the heavens and earth.
“Boy, where is your Life and Death Realm puppet?”
Elder Miao sneered. He was well aware that Li Xun had a trump card in the form of a powerful puppet, and from the beginning, they had been cautious of this potential threat. Now, he and Elder Mo attacked from opposite sides, maintaining a great distance to prevent Li Xun from using the puppet to block them both at once.
“As you wish,” Li Xun replied calmly.
With a flick of his sleeve, a black streak of light shot forth. A surge of peak Life and Death Realm power erupted from it as the puppet charged toward Elder Miao.
The emotionless puppet struck with lethal intent, unleashing boundless divine abilities that shattered the land within a hundred-mile radius.
In an instant, the world trembled, chaos swirled, and an aura reminiscent of the world’s creation and destruction surged forth.
“It seems… you will ultimately die by my hand!”
Elder Mo grinned hideously, his eyes burning with murderous madness as he charged toward Li Xun.
Beside him, the black flood dragon roared toward the sky. Its massive, steel-like body surged forward like an unbreakable wall, exuding an oppressive force that weighed heavily on everything in its path.
