I, the Ruthless Villain, Strangled My Fiancée at the Beginning and Left the Protagonists Terrified

Chapter 16:

Chapter 16: Diverting the Trouble

Shen Wuxiao welcomed Lin Fan into the villa and guided him to the sofa.

As Lin Fan sat down across from Shen Wuxiao, his hand brushed against something beside him. Out of reflex, he glanced at it—and froze.

It was women’s underwear.

“Uh…” Lin Fan was momentarily speechless.

So this brother really did live an extravagant life.

Shen Wuxiao noticed but didn’t react. He didn’t mind at all. That piece had been left there from the previous night’s “entertainment,” and he had no intention of cleaning it up.

Maybe Lin Fan would form his own assumptions. That wasn’t a bad thing.

“Brother Lin Fan, what you said over the phone—that you’re looking for Shen Wuxiao—are you serious?” Shen Wuxiao asked, once again wearing a concerned expression.

Lin Fan nodded solemnly. “Yes. Since you know him, can you tell me more? I’ll owe you a favor.”

Shen Wuxiao sighed. “Brother, forgive me for asking, but are you looking for him because you know him personally, or… because you want revenge?”

Lin Fan hadn’t revealed his hatred for Shen Wuxiao to anyone. Now that it had been guessed so directly, he became a little guarded.

“What makes you think I’m out for revenge?”

Shen Wuxiao slammed the table and said, “Shen Wuxiao has a long list of enemies. He’s ruthless and arrogant—of course many people want to kill him.”

“His personality is unstable, and he basically has no real friends. Most of them either fear him or secretly hate him.”

“So, I figured you’re here for revenge.”

Then Shen Wuxiao suddenly looked at him with mock surprise. “Brother, don’t tell me Shen Wuxiao is the guy who slept with your wife?”

“If that’s the case, let it go. A woman isn’t worth risking your life over.”

Lin Fan was speechless. Why was it always about being cuckolded? He’d heard this joke so often lately, it was beginning to feel prophetic.

“Brother Sikong, don’t overthink it. I have my reasons. I just want to understand more about this Shen Wuxiao.”

Lin Fan’s heart was filled with the desire for revenge. What he really wanted now was a photo. If he could confirm Shen Wuxiao’s appearance, then even if the man ran to the ends of the earth, he’d find him.

Shen Wuxiao pretended to be cautious again. “Brother, what I’m about to say is serious. You must keep it to yourself.”

“If word gets out, my whole family could be in danger.”

Lin Fan nodded firmly. “Don’t worry. I’m not someone who forgets favors. Everything said here today will stay between us. I won’t tell a soul.”

Shen Wuxiao appeared relieved.

“In that case… I’ll risk it all and tell you.”

“Brother Lin Fan, Shen Wuxiao is no ordinary man. His status is extremely high.”

“How high?” Lin Fan leaned forward, his expression serious.

“Third or fourth floor? No… hundreds of floors high. Let me put it this way: if he wants to, he can practically control all of Dragon Nation.”

Lin Fan was truly stunned this time.

He had served in the army for many years and was well-versed in military matters, but this sounded far-fetched. Still, he didn’t know much about the inner workings of the city. Maybe it wasn’t impossible.

Shen Wuxiao continued, “He has a cruel and unpredictable personality. And he’s ridiculously handsome—even more than Pan An. The dream man of millions of women.”

“There are enough women chasing after him to form a circle around Zhonghai three times!”

“There’s even a rumor that he especially likes married women—ideally the ones who already have four or five-year-old kids. That’s his type!”

“…????”

Lin Fan really wanted to interrupt. Was that necessary? This was way too detailed… and a bit tasteless.

And were these supposed to be compliments?

Did he really need to know Shen Wuxiao’s preferences in women?

Besides, who doesn’t like wives?

Still, Lin Fan chose not to interrupt. He continued listening.

Shen Wuxiao kept praising himself in a roundabout way while pretending to “inform” Lin Fan. It didn’t matter—Lin Fan noted every detail carefully.

“Brother Sikong, do you have a photo of him?” Lin Fan asked seriously.

“I’ve searched everywhere and found nothing. No pictures, no background. All I found were photos of some doctor who performs circumcisions.”

Shen Wuxiao shook his head. “Although many know his name, no one’s ever seen his face publicly. Those who’ve met him know, and those who haven’t… never will.”

“So if I had to describe him in one word—handsome.”

He poured Lin Fan a cup of tea and continued casually, “I once visited a friend in the Jinnanwan Villa District. Coincidentally, I saw Shen Wuxiao coming out of one of the villas.”

“I asked my friend, and that’s how I found out it was him. It’s a shame—my friend’s gone abroad now. He would’ve known more.”

“But one thing stood out—the scale. That entire villa was surrounded by bodyguards in black suits. It was packed.”

Lin Fan’s expression shifted. He instantly took note of that location—Jinnanwan Villa.

He asked indirectly, “That area must be full of rich people, right? Do all the villas there have bodyguards?”

Shen Wuxiao shook his head. “Brother Lin Fan, do you think Dragon Nation is that dangerous?”

“Only someone like Shen Wuxiao, who has a long list of enemies, would need so many guards.”

“At the time, every other villa looked deserted. Only that one villa was swarming with people.”

Lin Fan silently made up his mind.

Even if he wasn’t sure Shen Wuxiao lived there permanently, he’d still check it out today.

If he saw a villa heavily guarded, then there was a high chance Shen Wuxiao was inside.

If not, he’d start searching the empty villas nearby. There would definitely be something that revealed Shen Wuxiao’s traces.

Shen Wuxiao had said all he wanted to say. He leaned back and gave a serious warning.

“Brother Lin Fan, Shen Wuxiao really isn’t someone we can afford to provoke.”

“My family’s got money, but when it comes to power—we’re nothing.”

“If he really slept with your woman, I suggest you either fix your hat… or find another woman.”

Lin Fan was speechless again.

Could he not bring up that stupid hat every time?

Still, now he had a lead.

A solid direction.

And revenge to take.

“Alright. Thank you, Brother Sikong. I, Lin Fan, will never forget this favor.”

“Today’s conversation will remain between us—no third person will ever know about it.”

After sitting for a short while and having some tea out of courtesy, Lin Fan stood up to leave.

He had to head to Jinnan Bay tonight and begin his investigation.

Once Lin Fan had walked out the door, Shen Wuxiao remained seated, watching his figure through the tall glass windows. A sneer crept across his lips.

He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

The call connected quickly. A respectful voice came through the line. “Young Master!”

“Uncle Wu, inform the Haisha Society that someone might try to infiltrate their young master’s villa tonight. Tell them to send extra men—preferably armed.”

“Yes, Young Master!” Uncle Wu didn’t ask any questions. His only job was to follow orders.

Shen Wuxiao ended the call and leaned back on the sofa, a sly expression in his eyes.

The Jinnanwan Villa District he had casually mentioned earlier… was in fact the residence of the young master of the Haisha Society.

That young master was known for being arrogant and temperamental.

Because of the nature of his operations, he naturally had many bodyguards around him at all times. Gang members, rough and ruthless, stationed there for his protection.

Lin Fan had memorized every word he’d heard earlier and would definitely go there tonight.

And when he arrived and saw a villa surrounded by men in black, he would instantly think back to Shen Wuxiao’s “clue.”

Everything would fall into place in Lin Fan’s mind.

Without hesitation, he would try to sneak in—convinced he’d finally found Shen Wuxiao’s hideout.

And maybe, if Shen Wuxiao had said nothing else, Lin Fan might’ve succeeded. His skills weren’t to be underestimated.

But now that Shen Wuxiao had sent a warning to the Haisha Society, those guards would be on full alert.

With dozens of gangsters ready, how could anyone break in unnoticed?

Sitting on the sofa, Shen Wuxiao crossed his legs and smirked coldly.

“Brother Lin Fan… please, don’t get shot to death tonight.”

“I’m really looking forward to crushing you with my own hands.”
