I WAS PIXELATED!

Chapter 21: False Alarm

One time when Gimmick was 11, he and his parents had gone on a trip to Oregon. During their time there they visited Central Oregon Bungee Adventures. He was too scared to try bungee jumping so only his parents tried it. He remembered seeing his parents with the bungee cord strapped on to a harness on their chests, and jumping off. Seeing the dragon drop down, and spreading its wings, bouncing back up slightly from the air hitting its wings reminded him of that time with his parents in Oregon.

As the dragon approached Gim, he gripped his sword tightly ready for an attack. The dragon was approaching rapidly. 300 meters, 200 meters, 100 meters. It was now in clear view. A large blocky body made up mostly of scales. Two large nostrils sat on top of its wide-open jaw that resembled stone buttons. On its back the dragon had gray spikes in a linear pattern that shrunk as it got to its tail. The tail was long and thin, and its webbed bat wings had a gray outline to them. Unlike a bat, the Ender Dragon had all its limbs along with a pair of wings.

The dragon roared and when Gim was about to swing his blade, the dragon ascended, turning around and going back to circling the towers. The beam of white light emitted from the crystals simply followed its master, keeping the beast at full health. "Huh? What was that!" Gim yelled out at the dragon. "Don't be a coward and fight me like a man!" He pointed his sword at the direction of the dragon. "Err, or like a dragon." After standing on the stone platform awkwardly with his sword raised, he went back down the stairs, and decided it was better that he wasn't attacked.

He built up another stairwell leading to the next obsidian tower. Using his bow he shot an arrow at the crystal on top which exploded with a low resounding crack. Afar, the dragon let out an angry roar, but other than that it didn't react. It was no surprise to Gim. The dragon still had eight crystals that kept it at full health. 'I'll just take down all the crystals then you'll have no choice but to take me seriously.' He built up to the third obsidian tower, and once again burst the crystal with another arrow. He managed to repeat the process two more times, just as easily.

The dragon cried out in fury. It no longer could ignore Gim's dangerous presence. It flapped its wings, and flew to the center of the island. It remained hovering in the air, as its eyes began to glow a brighter purple for a few seconds. All of a sudden, the eyes of every single endermen on the island began to glow in response to the dragon, and they all turned to Gim.

Out of all the villagers, Thad was the only one capable enough to defend them against a horde of monsters if they ever invaded the village. However, he didn't think he would be needed thanks to Gimmick Stylus, and his care for the village. He did not expect the blonde player to use all the iron he had given him to bring four iron golems to life. He sat on his front porch made of cobblestone. Junior was a small distance away, where he could see him. He was laughing and playing with a small wolf pup, who was wagging its tail, and tickling the little boy with its tongue playfully.

The village had gained more life and a few villagers stepped out of their wooden shells. A few were sitting next to the iron golems, talking amongst each other, as one handed a red poppy to the gentle giants. Another was at work, composting seeds and other greenery near the crops. To his right, Lisa a female villager was inside a wooden fence, feeding a group of cows, and petting a baby cow with a warm smile on her face.

Lisa was a beautiful woman who had similar traits to him and all the other villagers. She was wearing purple robes and had long brown hair that reached her back. She also had a similar large nose. The only difference between her and the rest was the beauty mark that was plastered at the bottom left side of her nose. He had met her when her sister, Mina still lived in the village. He had been smitten by the beautiful lady's looks and they bore a child together. However, she left the village not too long after giving birth, leaving Junior and Thad alone.

Thad sighed, reminiscing about a memory full of sorrow. He had forgotten about her for some time, and just lived his life with his boy. He loved Junior. He was a brave and strong boy who loved to play with the village wolves and sometimes talked to the village guardians. Looking at the iron golems, Thad couldn't help but be worried about Gimmick.

'I wonder how that young man is doing? He seemed to be the type to enjoy a dangerous challenge. I bet he thinks he's having the best time of his life.' Thad smiled.

"I'm having the worst time in my life!" Gim cried indignantly, jumping and rolling out of the way as the dragon had begun to attack him. He got up and sprinted off, circling the island and dodging the angry mob of endermen. He had run right past the tower that had Steve imprisoned due to the sentient pursuers of his. Earlier when the Ender Dragon's eyes glowed, the endermen reacted to that and almost under orders turned to face Gim and began charging at him. A horde of endermen chased after him, many teleporting randomly and coming close to landing an attack on the blonde player.

As he ran, he turned his body and aimed carefully with his bow, he let the arrow fly to the tower he had left behind him and the crystal exploded. The dragon roared angrily, and spit out a projectile made of purple flames at Gim. At the same time, two endermen appeared right in front of him and swung both their arms, in an attempt to capture him. He swung his blade at both of them and they staggered back. Then, just before the purple ball of fire cooked him alive, he lunged out of the way, as he heard a hiss of pain and the two endermen disappeared in a brief cloud of smoke, dropping an ender pearl each. Gim quickly recovered, getting back up and picking up the two ender pearls before running away.

As he approached the next tower, he rummaged through his backpack as he ran, taking out his potion of jump boost and drinking it. Then using all his strength he jumped up and shot an arrow at the crystal ahead, cracking it. The crystal exploded, and the beam of light faded temporarily until the last three crystals continued pouring energy into the Ender Dragon. As he fell in midair, a group of five endermen stood directly below him, waiting for him to land. However, Gim was ready. He held his blade tight and pushed his body, giving himself some momentum. He began crashing down spinning his blade like a human twister, and pulverized the entire group.

The endermen stopped chasing him as their brethren were taken out with anything but difficulty. He used the short time he had to shoot the last remaining crystals from where he stood. "Two more." The arrow landed, and the crystal exploded. He aimed higher and let another arrow fly. "One more." The dragon lunged at him, knocking a few endermen in the way so forcefully they went flying off the island and into the endless abyss. He had gone full circle, the last crystal being across the first one he had taken out. He shot an arrow straight at the Ender Dragon's nostril. It pierced its scaly face, and the beast roared in disdain. He climbed up the stairwell he had originally built to get a better aim. He nocked his arrow against his drawstring and let the arrow fly once more. The crystal burst and the beam of light permanently faded.

Gim smirked, finally ready to battle the dragon properly.
