I'm Already Invulnerable, I Want to Play DPS. And Look Badass Doing it

Chapter 16: 16-Fresh Out of the Instance, Shocking a Bunch of Old Guys!

---

Su Mo then turned his gaze to the final item.

[Fear Scarecrow's Eyeball: Can be embedded in a weapon. Adds 50 Spirit and a chance to inflict hallucinations on enemies.]

[Description: When you gaze into it, it gazes back at you!]

All great stuff—but none of it seemed useful to him!

The only decent thing was the [5-Kilometers Slope Blade Saint] achievement.

As for [Scarecrow Overlord]? Against foes he couldn't beat, three summoned scarecrows would just be cannon fodder. Against ones he could, he didn't need them.

A tasteless, tossable trash achievement.

At least this time's gear didn't include nonsense like [Trajectory Shift Left]—it should fetch a hefty sum, right?

"Open panel!"

[Name: Su Mo]

[Level: 6]

[Awakened Abilities: Absolute Defense, Heart of Slaughter]

[Strength: 594]

[Defense: Max]

[Speed: 57]

[Constitution: 74]

[Critical Chance: 11%]

[Spirit: 5]

[Skills: None]

[Free Attribute Points: 36]

After beating the Fear Scarecrow, he'd leveled up to 6, gaining 5 to all stats except critical chance.

The first clear netted him 30 free points, but the boss kill only gave 6—kind of a raw deal.

With his strength nearing 600, he was torn: dump all 36 points into strength, or spread them out?

After a moment's thought, he decided to figure it out later and closed the panel.

Glancing at his wrecked Guandao, Su Mo still felt a pang of regret.

Time to upgrade this thing when he got out!

[Leave Instance!]

Outside, a crowd of big shots was still puzzling over the situation.

That golden beam suggested a new instance had spawned.

But aside from the abandoned 5-Kilometers Slope, there was nothing else here.

The kids hanging around were clueless too.

As for the guy who'd gone in solo and hadn't come out, they figured he was probably toast.

"You Trial Hall folks specialize in instances—been staring at it forever and still no clue?"

"We're just guardians, not researchers. If we can't crack it, we should report it up. This feels fishy… Who are you?!"

The two old men chatting jumped when Su Mo suddenly appeared before them.

Even Su Mo flinched at their startled yell.

The Tianfu City Lord eyed him, puzzled. "Level 6? How'd you get here?"

Holding his Z-shaped Guandao, Su Mo scratched his head. "I just came out of the instance. What's the issue?"

"Came out of the instance?!"

"Just now?!"

"You mean you came out of 5-Kilometers Slope?!"

"You JUST came out of 5-Kilometers Slope?!"

The barrage of shocked questions left Su Mo baffled.

He couldn't grasp why they were freaking out—leaving an instance wasn't that big a deal, right?

Still, he nodded. "Is there another instance here besides 5-Kilometers Slope?"

"You're in a Tianfu High uniform—you're a student there?"

Su Mo nodded, then moved to leave. He didn't want to bother with these weirdos.

He was itching to get his weapon reforged and maybe find a skill that suited him.

Fighting the Fear Scarecrow had exposed a weakness: no skills. All his damage came from raw punches and kicks.

With that boss, he'd lucked out finding its weak spot—otherwise, who knows how long it'd have taken.

Seeing him walk off, the big shots were dumbfounded.

They'd held high positions forever—who didn't suck up to them? What was with this kid?!

Are youngsters this rude now?

"Wait, young man! I'm the vice-principal of Tianfu High!"

Su Mo nodded. "I know."

"No—you know I'm the vice-principal and still act like this?"

Su Mo blinked. "How should I act?"

That shut them all up.

Yeah… how should he act?

He wasn't begging for favors or needing help. Plus, he'd graduate in days. His attitude seemed fine.

Vice-Principal Chen coughed awkwardly. "Ahem, here's the deal—we've got some questions. Answer honestly, and I'll get you bonus exam points. How's that?"

Su Mo paused, mulling it over. With his strength, did he need bonus points?

He shook his head. "I don't need points."

"Hey, kid, you—"

The Tianfu City Lord cut Chen off. "Old Chen, you can't even ask a question right—no wonder you're still a vice-principal after all these years.

Kid, your weapon's trashed. Answer us, and I'll fix it up—maybe even upgrade it. Deal?"

That sounded familiar—like something he'd heard recently.

Since he needed to fix his weapon anyway, Su Mo nodded. "Fine, ask away!"

"Kid, did anything weird happen in the instance?"

Su Mo shook his head. "Nope. What's weird about an instance?"

The Trial Hall elder frowned. "That's not right. No oddities out here mean they're inside.

You sure nothing strange happened in there?"

They'd just been debating sending someone in to check.

But with a level 10 cap, none of them could enter—then Su Mo popped out.

Su Mo was stumped. "What's strange about an instance? It's just monsters—what else would there be?"

"So how'd you get out? I hear that instance is brutal."

Su Mo shrugged. "Killed all the monsters, then left."

"Killed all the monsters?!"

"You killed ALL of them?!"

"Kid, do you know what you're saying?!"

"You'd better own up to that claim!"

"My grandson tried this instance 10 years ago—full of level 8 and 9 elites. How'd you kill them all?!"

Chen almost asked if he'd used his student ID, but seeing it still on Su Mo's chest, he held back.

If he didn't use it, how'd he get out?

Did he really clear the whole thing?!

Chen piped up, "Kid, can you tell me what's inside that instance?!"
