Chapter 196: Chapter 196 I Am Here!

Carrying Aida, Logan navigated through the chaotic surroundings, gripping his sword, Shimizu, tightly in his right hand as he made his way back to the original E section.

"Sakura, go help Naruto and Shikamaru break free from the Genjutsu. I have a mission to give them."

"What? What mission could there be right now? And more importantly... what's going on, Kakashi-sensei?"

"Don't worry about that now. Just follow my orders, and hurry!"

After dispatching the enemy, Kakashi turned to where Sakura was hiding in the middle of the seats, giving her instructions. Just as he was about to assist Guy, who was struggling in battle several meters away, a dark figure leaped toward him.

"Kakashi, where are the Medical-nin?"

'Hattori?' Kakashi suppressed his initial wariness, but when he saw Logan's condition, his eye widened. Logan was drenched in blood, his killing intent palpable, and he was carrying someone on his back. It had been a long time since Kakashi had seen the usually affable teaching assistant look so intimidating, like someone who had been on a killing spree.

Putting Aida on the ground, Logan shook off some of the heat from his recent battles. Carrying someone while trying to cut through the battlefield had made him a conspicuous target, and as expected, he had encountered three or four enemy Ninja along the way. With no time to waste, Logan had shown no mercy and swiftly cut them down with Shimizu.

"There won't be any Medical-nin in a situation like this." Kakashi looked down at the seriously injured Aida, "Sunagakure premeditated this attack and teamed up with Otogakure. Haven't you heard the noise outside? The village is in chaos now. "

Frustration welled up inside Logan as he looked at Aida's face, which was lined with age. The wrinkles and a few strands of gray hair that had fallen loose highlighted how time had worn him down. The severe injuries had stripped away Aida's usual stern, unsmiling demeanor, exposing the toll that years of Ninja life had taken on his body.

Aida's right hand, affected by Sakon's technique, hung lifelessly like a rag. Logan tore open Aida's clothing to reveal skin drained of color, looking sickly.

"Sakon..." Logan muttered the name with a dark, brooding tone as his frustration grew.

Suddenly, the sharp sound of shuriken flying close by pierced the air. Kakashi deflected them as they neared, while more Otogakure's Ninja emerged from the shadows. Logan gripped Shimizu, its bloodstained blade reflecting the clear sky above.

The sound of wind whistling through the air signaled something approaching. Amidst the chaotic environment, Logan couldn't quite discern what it was, but he knew it wasn't an incoming projectile or a Ninjutsu clash. It was something beyond the physical.

He immediately knelt down, feeling the rough ground beneath his knee, and placed his left hand on Aida's dusty Jonin vest. The clashing of kunai grew louder as Kakashi forcefully knocked back another opponent just a few meters away.

"Hattori, forget about the Medical-nin for now. The village was somewhat prepared for this attack. Once the initial chaos subsides, the situation will stabilize, and reinforcements will arrive at this battleground in the venue." Kakashi called out to Logan between his ongoing fight with the Otogakure's Ninja, "For now, we need to reduce the number of enemies!"

Logan didn't respond immediately. He glanced down at Aida, who was in a semi-conscious state. Memories of two nights ago at the izakaya surfaced… an evening where they had met and reminisced about old times in their team, the atmosphere light and filled with nostalgia.

'With that right hand... Uncle Aida probably can't continue as a Jonin Instructor anymore.'

'Or perhaps even as a Ninja at all.'

"Well, not being a ninja isn't so bad. At his age, he should've retired when his reflexes started to decline." Logan murmured. That sensation beyond the physical grew closer, a feeling of reality.

The thought of the 'Hyuga Clan's Compound' flashed through his mind, how Aida's wife had smiled while pouring tea during a visit to their quiet, dignified home, with two children peeking at their guest.

Logan stood up and wiped Shimizu clean, removing the blood and restoring the blade's pristine sheen.

"Hattori, are you even listening to me?" Kakashi glanced over, noticing Sakura was now releasing Naruto and Shikamaru from the Genjutsu, 'Time was of the essence. Sasuke had gone after Gaara... and there were still two Sunagakure's Genin and a Jinchuriki who could transform into a Biju at any moment.'

After cutting down the Otogakure's Ninja with a surge of power, Kakashi turned back to address Logan again.

"I understand."

When someone important is in danger, Logan felt anxiety, anger, and even guilt. This shift in his emotions brought about another change, he finally recognized what had been approaching him before. During the Chunin Exams, there was a moment when he felt distant and detached from it all, feeling that everything didn't matter, but now, everything was coming closer.

Boom!

A massive explosion echoed from the distant horizon. Logan turned his head slightly and saw that the towering buildings in the distance were shrouded in smoke and dust. Several huge snakes appeared and slithered through the chaos, demolishing houses, breaking through Konoha's walls, allowing hostile Shinobi to flood in. The sounds of battle grew louder, filling the air.

Logan's sleeve was tugged gently. It was Aida, who had regained a sliver of consciousness. Blood was still oozing out from the wounds on his face, and his eyes showed confusion, "Why the hell are you still next to me?"

"..." Logan had many sarcastic retorts in mind, 'If I left, you'd really be done for.'

"Go and deal with the enemy quickly." Aida managed to say with effort, "Kid, you'd better stop fooling around. These wounds won't kill me."

Emotions surged within Logan, and he opened his mouth, wanting to say more, 'How old are you? Can you stop pushing yourself so hard? What about your family if you die?'

"You are a Ninja of Konoha. Now, go..."

Logan froze for a moment. He understood Aida's mindset and refrained from saying what he had initially intended. After a brief silence, he repeated the two words he had just said.

"I understand."

In the distance, the huge snakes continued their rampage, with Ninja clashing against them. Closer by, Konoha, Sunagakure and Otogakure's Ninja were locked in battle, the entire area plunged into chaos.

"Kakashi, please look after him for me. He's a longtime friend of mine. I'm counting on you."

Kakashi was stunned when he heard Logan's sincere tone. He then nodded and said, "No problem."

Logan had brought Aida back to this area because it was where Kakashi, Guy, and the other Elite Jonin were positioned, making it relatively safer.

"Okay, I'll leave first." Logan said as he raised Shimizu, and with a flash of white light, his fighting spirit erupted.

"Hey, where are you going?" Kakashi noticed that Logan's expression was not right, and there was something wrong with the direction he was facing...

Logan pointed Seihiro in a specific direction. In the blink of an eye, he took off at high speed, leaving a parting remark.

"There's someone I want to kill. I'll also pay a visit to their leader along the way."

Kakashi wanted to stop him, but it was too late. He could only watch as Logan's figure shot forward, rapidly approaching higher ground.

Kakashi's expression changed when he saw where Logan was headed, as it was the main rooftop.

'Orochimaru?'

Logan's body moved swiftly, the wind brushing against his face, almost feeling solid. The sound of it howled past him as he ran parallel to the ground along the wall, Yu Xiaobai was running on the wall parallel to the wall. A hostile Ninja suddenly appeared, but with a cold glare, Logan blasted through the air, creating a shockwave that rippled outward. Lightning crackled across his body as he surged past the enemy at a speed far beyond their comprehension. By the time the enemy's lifeless body slid down the wall, Logan was already an untraceable blur, leaping off the edge of a roof. Walls, people, and seats flashed by as his view ascended higher and higher ——

Indeed, the Chunin Exams felt very close to him now, and Aida's words echoed once more in his mind.

"You are a Ninja of Konoha..."

In fact, he is not a Ninja of Konoha, but but that didn't matter anymore. He had found something worth respecting, something he wanted to protect, and a sense of reality that was now undeniable.

A part of Konoha came into view as Logan, along with Shimizu, reflecting everything like water, landed heavily on the main rooftop.

Corpses, ANBU, and a rectangular purple barrier—the Four Violet Flames Formation.
