I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 452: Chapter 452 Leaving Luluci Country

Menchi had not been focusing her Nen Capacity and energy in the field of combat.

Instead, she chose to develop abilities that match her profession as a Gourmet Hunter.

However, her progress in developing these abilities had been slow.

Even though she had never slacked off, to this day, all she had achieved was giving her dishes the ability to 'relieve fatigue'.

However, the ideas that Moses had previously provided her with, such as restoring Potential Aura, increasing strength and speed, or accelerating the output rate of Nen, had not made any progress.

This slow development also indirectly affected her growth in terms of combat power.

It wasn't that Menchi lacked talent, it was more that the potential of her [Glowing Cuisine] was unimaginably high.

In contrast, this ability required an extremely long time to mature.

This resulted in Menchi had to invest vast amounts of time and energy in it, leaving little room for mastering advanced Nen Techniques.

If Menchi could eventually bring her [Glowing Cuisine] to full maturity, she would become one of the most unique Gourmet Hunters in history.

Because-

With the concept of [Glowing Cuisine], there is actually the possibility of helping ordinary people to awaken their Nen without any risk.

But Menchi had yet to make any significant breakthroughs with [Glowing Cuisine], and sometimes, this slow progress left her feeling impatient.

Although Moses would often comfort her by likening the process to 'slow-cooking a stew', but developing such an ability over years, or even decades, was undeniably a difficult thing for any Nen User to endure.

This is one aspect. Another was Menchi's fear that she might let Moses down with these ideas and suggestions.

She worried that she wouldn't be able to reach the heights he had already envisioned for her.

Whenever she thought about this possibility, her borderline perfectionist nature would make her feel unworthy of the title 'disciple'.

Of course, she also knew that Moses never cared about such things.

But she is different.

Now-

A path had appeared before Menchi, a chance to quickly advance to a Single Star Pro Hunter, and she wanted to seize it.

Moses didn't know what was going on in Menchi's mind. He was now completely focused on the Divine Script.

After a while…

When Ging returned to the shelter, he immediately noticed the clothes that Moses and the others were wearing are completely dry, which is clearly thanks to some kind of Nen Ability.

Ging didn't inquire further, but instead smiled and asked, "Want to join me in visiting Tumonkatan's tomb? If we're lucky, we might be able to see the legendary golden mask that Tumonkatan supposedly stole from the Sun God."

"Sure."

Moses readily agreed.

It wasn't that he was particularly interested in the so-called golden mask, he just figured that it was better to explore the tomb with Ging than to wait around.

"Is there really a Sun God in this world?"

Shizuku asked Ging, not hiding the curiosity in her eyes.

Ging met her curious gaze and responded seriously, "There is, and there isn't."

Shizuku nodded slightly.

Seeing Shizuku's reaction, Moses and Menchi couldn't help but complain in their heart, 'You're satisfied with such a vague answer?'

Shizuku, however, didn't pursue the question of whether the Sun God existed. Instead, she followed up, "Then what is the Sun God?"

"The God who resides on the sun and controls the vitality of all things."

Ging replied with a faint smile.

Looking back at ancient ruins, many of the remaining records were steeped in mythology.

But in reality, many of those records originated from the Dark Continent.

On that continent, beyond the world they knew, there were countless entities far beyond human comprehension.

It is precisely because of the existence of the Dark Continent that it is difficult to determine whether the myths passed down since ancient times are mere fabrications or not.

This was why Ging had given such a vague answer.

Hearing Ging's explanation, Shizuku couldn't help but show a look of surprise, and then furrowed her brows in deep thought, trying hard to imagine what the Sun God might look like.

She was thinking-

If the Sun God lived on the sun, wouldn't his body be like charred coal?

Then, the god was probably very tall and thin, and in order to make it easier to get down from the sun, the god probably had wings.

Meanwhile, Moses, Ging, and Menchi all looked at Shizuku who seemed to be in deep thought.

For some reason, they could all vaguely guess what she might be thinking.

"Let's just head to the tomb."

Moses suggested upon seeing this.

Ging agreed without hesitation.

Soon, Ging led Moses and his group to the tomb.

Given his fame and status, along with the assistance he'd provided tonight, Ging now held authority on par with Heram in the excavation efforts.

Of course, this authority was temporary and limited to the excavation of Tumonkatan's tomb.

Before long, Moses and his party entered the tomb.

Passing through corridors and passageways, they headed straight for the depth of the tomb.

At this moment…

Heram was leading a team to inspect the Underworld Palace built on the platform.

Moses stood on the platform in front of the entrance and saw the platform surrounded by trenches on all four sides, while the Underworld Palace was bathed in faint green glow.

'If the golden mask Ging mentioned was real, it would likely be inside that palace.'

Moses glanced at the Underworld Palace but quickly shifted his attention to the trenches.

"This is... the place where the dead are buried."

Standing at the edge of the drawbridge, Moses looked down into the now-empty depths of the trenches.

The countless bones that had once been piled up in the trench had already turned to dust outside, carried away by the wind and rain to an unknown destination.

Moses gazed into the depths of the trench and inexplicably thought of the ruins of the Monka Expeditionary Force.

At that time, he had been repeatedly teleported by a suspected Divine Script ability, and he had never found out the true entrance to the ruins.

'Maybe I can find some time to go and see the Divine Script on that mountain.'

Moses then followed Ging to take a close look at the Underworld Palace, which contained ancient craftsmanship, and saw the golden mask engraved with the 'Sun Disk' pattern.

However, what he found even more valuable than the mask were the murals.

Some of the content on them provided a more direct understanding of certain aspects of ancient times.

After spending some time wandering around the tomb and seeing everything worth seeing, Moses said something to Ging before leading Menchi and Shizuku out.

Upon leaving the tomb, Moses had a chance encounter with the Muscular Barbie officer from before.

The other party's waist, abdomen and right thigh were wrapped in thick bandages, suggesting she had suffered serious injuries.

After exchanging a few words, Moses learned that the member of the Erimo Bandit Group who had assassinated General Danny had ultimately escaped the military's encirclement.

Compared to her injuries, it seemed that this fact bothered the female officer, Ida, much more.

After parting ways with Ida, Moses and his group headed to the temporary residence prepared for them by the military.

By the following evening, Ging returned, looking quite satisfied.

"Let's go have a drink."

This was the first thing Ging said upon seeing Moses.

And so, that very night, Moses and his group boarded an airship and left the Luluci Country.

According to Ging, it would take about five days to reach their next destination.

Moses, going with the flow, let Ging take care of all the arrangements.
