Chapter 19: The Torture of Training and the Escape Plan
"Come on, faster! We need to complete 50 more laps around the village before the sun sets!"
"Your punches are weak and soft. Haven't you eaten?!"
"How can you, a grown man, kick like a little girl?!"
...
"Shiro, you're really pathetic."
After a whole day of hellish training, Tobirama Senju made his final evaluation.
"You have the chakra capacity of a tailed beast, but you don't have the physical strength to back it up. Your body is way too weak."
"When I was your age, I could defeat 1,000 of you in one go."
"You're so weak! How can you be this weak?!"
...
Shiro, exhausted and with his legs cramping up, collapsed to the ground. His mouth twitched continuously.
Damn!
If I weren't completely drained right now, I'd have used a little bit of my Shiro-style genjutsu on you!
"It looks like improving your physical strength can't wait any longer."
"Starting today, you will go to the Ninja Academy during the day and train according to the schedule I set for you at night."
"I'll come by and check on your progress."
As soon as Tobirama finished speaking, Shiro rolled his eyes.
"Tobirama-sama, I'm just a kid who's not even ten years old yet. Won't you feel bad about doing this to me?"
"Just think about it, what can a nine-year-old child do?!"
Tobirama thought for a moment and then answered seriously.
"When I was ten, I killed 817 enemies on the battlefield. My older brother was even tougher at that age; he wiped out over 2,000 enemies in one battle. My younger brother, Waken, didn't live past ten, but..."
Shiro had no words to respond.
Alright, fine. All of you in the Senju family are incredible, I get it.
But I'm not from the Senju family!
I'm just a regular civilian kid from the village…
"Shiro, you need to understand that a ninja who only has a large amount of chakra without strong physical conditioning won't survive in combat."
Shiro thought to himself, I get it, I get it… but can you please look at the training plan you gave me?
Run 120 laps around the village.
300 sets of push-ups, 30 per set.
200 sets of sit-ups, 30 per set.
150 sets of frog jumps, 500 meters each.
500 sets of alternating punches, 100 per set.
500 sets of alternating kicks, 100 per set.
...
Aren't you going a little too far with this?
This training load is almost as bad as Lee's, are you trying to make me open the Eight Gates or something?!
I know you're just trying to help me, but this is too much love…
I really can't do it! (T_T)
No matter how much Shiro complained inside, Tobirama confidently promised,
"As long as you follow this training plan I've tailored for you, I guarantee you'll master the Nine-Tails' power within a year."
Thanks a lot!
But if I keep training like this, I might not even make it through the year.
"Alright, I've said everything I needed to."
"We're done for today. I'll be back tomorrow night."
As soon as Tobirama finished speaking, he used the Flying Thunder God technique to vanish from Shiro's sight.
Shiro silently collapsed to the ground, not even wanting to move a finger.
"Before you leave, can you at least take me home…"
Tears unconsciously streamed down Shiro's face.
What kind of life suffering have I endured tonight?!
He remembered happily leaving the Ninja Academy and going home, not even having time to eat dinner before Tobirama suddenly appeared, grabbed him by the collar, and dragged him to the forest.
Then the inhumane physical training began.
Anytime Shiro slowed down or didn't do the actions properly, Tobirama's iron fist would land on his forehead.
It was both a mental and physical torture!
Finally, he got through it, but…
He said he'd come back tomorrow night. Ughhh…
Shiro suddenly felt a bit of sympathy for Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzo.
Maybe the reason they both became corrupt and twisted after gaining power was that life under Tobirama as a teacher was just so damn hard...
Once the heavy burden was lifted, they just completely let themselves go.
I can't take this anymore. I need to figure out a way to escape this hellish training!
Otherwise, I might end up mentally breaking down!
Shiro forced himself to get up, his steps unsteady, and walked in the direction of home.
When he finally reached home, Shiro collapsed onto his bed, instantly falling into a deep sleep, almost as if he passed out in seconds.
What?
You ask about food?
When faced with death, is a meal really that important?
...
"Shiro-kun, you look terrible. Are you sick?"
In the Ninja Academy classroom, Hinata looked at Shiro, who was pale and trembling, and asked in a concerned whisper.
"I'm fine, Hinata. I just had a bad dream last night," Shiro replied, trying to act calm, but inwardly he was crying.
Hinata, you'll never know what I went through last night...
Hinata fell into confusion.
A nightmare from last night, and he's still trembling today…
What kind of nightmare could it have been?!
(Shiro: Don't ask, it was really, really terrifying… (T_T)…)
Hinata put on a thoughtful expression, looking cutely lost in thought!
Unfortunately, Shiro wasn't in the mood to develop a relationship with Hinata. He was staring intently at the countdown timer floating in front of him.
One hour!
One more hour, and the system will simulate again!
An hour passed quickly, and at the moment the timer reached zero, Shiro jumped up from his seat and dashed toward the door of the classroom.
Iruka, standing at the podium, looked confused and asked,
"Shiro, where are you going?"
Shiro's figure disappeared from Iruka's sight in the blink of an eye, and only the faint sound of two words floated back from outside the classroom.
"Skipping class."
Iruka: angry!! (╬д)!!
Classmates: d(д)!!!
Hinata: (í _ ì)...
As a student, to say "I'm skipping class" so casually, I must really thank you for that, Shiro!
Iruka muttered in his heart, furious.
