At the hero provisional examination, the rules were being explained.

"Only the first 100 to pass the first stage will be considered for the next exam; all others will be disqualified..."

"Three of these targets will be placed randomly on each participant's body. Your goal is to protect these three targets and disqualify any other two participants to successfully pass the exam..."

The government official tiredly explained the rules while holding a circular target and a red ball in his hands.

"Whoever lights up the third target will be considered the person who took down the other participant."

Kurokai looked curiously at the three targets attached to his back, left leg, and right shoulder. He was also given six red balls for attacking. For this exam, his advantage was massive.

But that wasn't what caught his interest.

"You really didn't tell them, Eraser?" Ms. Joke said in a low voice, noticing the surprised faces of U.A.'s students.

"Because it's unnecessary," replied Aizawa.

Turning her head, she looked at the yawning Eraserhead, her gaze hardening.

"Aren't you being arrogant? Do you think other participants and my students are so easy to beat?"

Aizawa paused, then looked at Joke and smiled.

"Yes."

It seemed he had unknowingly picked up some bad habits from a devilish brat. He wasn't like this before. That brat stole his innocence.

Ms. Joke's brows furrowed, but before she could say anything, she saw Aizawa smugly pointing at the arena.

Doubtfully turning her head, she froze in place.

Inside the arena.

All the balls flying through the air were now suspended in place.

All of U.A.'s students, except Bakugo and Todoroki, felt relieved seeing the balls that had been rushing toward them suddenly freeze in place.

'Kurokai!'

They silently cheered in their minds.

Meanwhile, Kurokai was silently observing the shocked faces of the other participants. Suddenly, he felt the air around him shift, rushing toward the suspended balls, forming a tornado.

Kurokai turned his gaze and noticed a student from Shiketsu High. It was the boy who had been enthusiastically greeting Midoriya and the others earlier. His quirk clearly had something to do with air manipulation.

But unfortunately for him, no matter how much 'air' he moved, it couldn't shake even one of the suspended balls.

Watching his face turn blue, Kurokai shifted his gaze. Then, under Inasa Yoarashi's shocked eyes, the red balls he was holding were suddenly yanked out of his grasp, joining the others in the air.

"What?..."

He shouted in surprise. With all three balls gone, Inasa now had no way to score points, especially since the other participants' balls had also been taken.

Inasa's mouth twitched as he noticed that all the balls participants had saved were suddenly flying out of their grasp.

Kurokai's voice echoed through the arena.

"Here, take them back."

With a wave of his hand, he sent all the balls flying randomly toward the participants.

"Shit!"

They hurriedly used their quirks to dodge. Fortunately, Kurokai hadn't targeted anyone in particular; otherwise, they'd all have been disqualified in seconds. Still, many lost at least one target, and a few unlucky ones lost two.

The arena fell silent. Everyone instinctively looked at Kurokai, instantly identifying him as their strongest opponent.

Kurokai glanced at the participant who didn't survive his attack.

'One more, and I'll pass the exam...'

Selecting a nearby boy with a single target left, Kurokai raised his arm and froze him in place. But just as he was about to finish him off, he sensed someone jumping toward his back.

'A sneak attack? On me?'

He calmly turned his head to meet the intruder. His eyes widened.

The attacker was the only girl from Shiketsu High—Camie Utsushimi. She was falling toward him with her arms wide open, as if asking for a hug.

Kurokai blinked twice and did what any sane man would do.

He opened his arms to receive her.

The arena fell silent.

A soft, warm sensation pressed against Kurokai as their eyes met. Time seemed to freeze. Camie closed her eyes, leaning in as if for a kiss.

'Is she for real?'

Her arms wrapped around his neck, her chest pressing against his.

'What is this? Why is this?'

Her lips drew closer.

'Has my popular phase finally come?'

I was probably a trap.

No, it wad definitely a trap.

But.....

But....But..... perhaps... it's not?...

Kurokai lowered his head, as if replying to her advance.

As their faces neared, Camie suddenly opened her eyes and smiled mischievously and exhaled a puff of smoke directly into his face.

Glamour.

It was her quirk, used to create visual and auditory hallucinations.

Kurokai's vision blurred.

"I didn't think it would work so well," Camie said, her voice sweet. "I came up with the plan after seeing your little stunt on camera with Mt. Lady..."

Before Kurokai could react, all three of his targets were hit.

"Kurokai! Disqualified!"

It happened too quickly. None of the U.A. students could react in time.

Midoriya who just finished digesting the situation, shouted in shock.

"Kurokai-kun!"

Kirishima smiled weakly.

Tokoyami shook his head, disappointed.

Todoroki...just stared in silence.

Momo was stunned.

Asui looked at him with dull eyes.

In the audience stands

Ms. Joke slowly turned her head to Aizawa.

"Eraser, your student...just lost..."

She waited.

But Aizawa didn't respond.

"Eraser? Hello? Are you ignoring me?"

She walked up and waved a hand in front of his face.

"Hello? Hello?"

She paused, noticing his unblinking eyes.

"...Oh, he fainted."

Villains Hideout.

"Anything you want to tell me? Eri?"

Mechamau asked in a curious voice, seeing Eri who suddenly walked up to him, avoiding his gaze, holding a magazine in her hands.

"That.....mechamaru....."

She continued in her hesitant voice, pointing cutely at the rollercoaster in the magazine she was holding.

"Can we....go to the amusement park?"

Her big watery eyes stared unblinkingly at him.
