"Kekeke~. It doesn't matter who I am. Because he and I are one and the same. And I know who you are too. Don't worry—I have no intention of hurting you."

"I see... But I can sense a strange aura from you. What exactly are you? Why is your aura different from the other demons?"

"That's because I'm not like the rest of you. We are calamity demons. In both the present and the future—we will always exist."

The future...?

I don't understand...

"I don't know what you mean. But as long as you don't intend to hurt my son, I have no problem with you."

Draws blade—

"Good. I also want to see your power. Let's find out who will win this battle."

Without further delay, the other side of me charged at Sieg's father.

Fortunately, Sieg's father managed to evade the strike from that darker side of me.

Even so, a few minor wounds appeared on his abdomen.

"Impressive... This is the pressure of a Demon King. You're a monster," praised Sieg's father, not forgetting to acknowledge the power flowing through my body.

He could tell, just from that pressure, that I was indeed a Demon King.

Surely, there was no doubt that I was capable of defeating those on the Demon King level.

"Are you so sure? Why don't you look at your finger?"

Spurt!

Indeed—blood spurted from one of Sieg's father's fingers.

He hadn't expected to be attacked without even noticing it.

If he had, wouldn't he have at least tried to dodge?

"Hahaha... You're full of surprises. I'd love to see what happens when you fight Asmodeus..."

...

"Lilith! You're destined to marry Asmodeus. Stop trying to resist! That brat can't take you away from this castle!"

"Demon Emperor... Why are you forcing me?! Am I really that useless? Just say it!"

"Call me Father! How many times must I tell you?! Don't think I don't know what you're planning."

For a moment, a soft click of the tongue escaped Lilith's lips.

But finally, Lilith chose to release all her pent-up emotions at the Demon Emperor.

"Father? You're not my father! I know you're just my adoptive father! That's why you're so eager to marry me off to that man!"

Slap!

In less than a second, the sound of a hard slap echoed through the palace hall.

No one knew why, but the Demon Emperor felt it was necessary to discipline his daughter.

Just look at Lilith's expression—she unconsciously twisted into a face of pure rage.

"Ah!!! Damn you! Do you know how much that hurt?!"

"This is your punishment. You deserved it. You should be grateful I even gave you a place here. If not for me, you wouldn't be allowed to live in this palace."

"Ck! Don't think I don't know your true intentions. I hope you regret your decision."

With no other choice, Lilith turned and walked away from the Demon Emperor.

Just as she stepped out of the throne room, tears began to fall from her eyes.

"Haha... Ugh... Why is this happening? I never wanted things to turn out this way. Sieg... I'm sorry for dragging you into this. I hope you can escape."

Unfortunately, Lilith had no idea that I was already preparing to rescue her from Asmodeus.

If she knew, would she pray that nothing bad happened to me?

Still, Lilith believed it was impossible for me to sacrifice my own life.

If she remembered clearly, she knew I always tried to avoid death at all costs.

...

Time passed slowly. I wasn't sure if I had truly defeated my father.

Looking back, I didn't think I had actually managed to bring him down.

On the contrary, I was no longer in my demon form.

Maybe because of that, I questioned whether I could really defeat Sieg's father.

"You've grown stronger. If you keep pushing yourself, I believe you could break through to Greater Demon level."

"And besides, we've spent three years here. I think it's time for us to return. I still have other matters to attend to. I hope you understand."

"I'm sorry, Father, but... may I stay here a little longer? There's something I want to try."

For a brief moment, I saw hesitation in Sieg's father's eyes.

He seemed unsure whether it was okay to leave me here alone.

Still, he could tell from my expression—I genuinely wanted to stay for a while longer.

Truly, if I weren't his only son, there's no way he would've agreed to help train me.

"Are you sure? If so, then let me warn you—don't leave the cosmic dust zone. Just stay here and train quietly. Understand?"

"Don't worry! You can trust me. There's no way I'd disobey your order!"

"Alright, then. See you again. You have three months here—don't forget that."

And with that, after a few seconds, Sieg's father vanished from my sight.

Yet deep down, I still didn't understand this place I was in.

Looking around, I saw no signs of life in my surroundings.

But one thing was certain—I strongly felt something was hidden at the edge of this mist.

If not, why else would Sieg's father forbid me from going near it?

"Forget it. I can't break Father's warning. I have to be cautious. My chances are slim. If I fail, I won't be able to save Lilith."

Without wasting another second, I sat down and resumed meditating.

Right now, I had fully reached the peak of the True Mage Stage.

Even my combat power—dare I say—it rivaled that of a Law Stage expert?

However, I knew full well I was nowhere near strong enough to defeat a Ruler Stage cultivator.

If I forced myself, I wouldn't even survive the attempt.

Fortunately, the demon inside me said he would help me face Asmodeus.

[System is currently under maintenance. All functions unrelated to system authority are unavailable.]

'Hah... What is this? How long do you expect me to wait? Just hurry up and tell me! Do you really think the Forced Enhancement function can help me? It's useless!'

Honestly, I couldn't hold back my frustration anymore.

If the system wasn't under maintenance, I would've probably yelled out in anger.

Deep down, I even wondered—could the system be intentionally trapping me here?

But I knew that idea was too far-fetched.

Maybe... just maybe, the system was repairing itself?

Even so, I chose to let it go.

Right now, I didn't need to worry about the system's problems.

I just hoped the system could fix itself in time.

If not, I feared I'd never return to my original body.

As I sank deeper into meditation, I spoke to the demon within me once more.

"Are you there? What about our agreement? I hope you're not planning to break your promise."

"You think I'm the type to break promises? Trust me—we will defeat that demon. Just believe in me."

"I hope so... I really do. And I'm ready to start training with that technique you gave me. Please guide me."

...

After three months passed, I finally completed my training.

Strangely, my body was shrouded in an aura of death.

But soon after, that aura vanished completely.

As I took a deep breath, I felt myself return to human form.

"Seriously... I know this form is the best. I hate the look of my demon transformation."

'Huh? What are you trying to say? You don't like yourself? Mocking me is the same as insulting yourself.'

"Haha... I'm just kidding. I didn't expect you to be so sensitive about how our demon form looks."
