Chapter 29: Academy Main Test Final Hours
Ronald realized Aiden's abilities were beyond his expectations. Seeing Aiden's unstable emotions, Ronald chose not to prolong the matter with him.
"All right. I'll listen to you. Can you get these fire arrows out of my way?" Ronald asked.
Aiden moved his hand and returned the two arrows back to the top of his palm. Ronald and Clarissa could breathe a sigh of relief.
"We'll go our ways, you do your job, and so do we," Ronald explained, making Clarissa look disapproving.
Even so, Ronald ignored Clarissa. The conditions within his team were very unstable, there were great powers threatening their safety.
The best option for Ronald was to leave Aiden alone. In the end, the three of them would also benefit.
Aiden nodded. He removed the fire arrow and turned around, Helen coming with him.
"If you want to meet us, you know where we are," Ronald said, not getting a response from Aiden.
They needed at least six more gold plates, while Aiden needed four more. In total, the 71st Squad needed about 10 gold plates for their total number of gold plates to reach 50 and pass into Iris' class.
"Aren't you going to fight with your squad? I think it would be safer if—"
"No. It's safer for me to fight alone rather than with them. I can't trust them at all," Aiden said, interrupting Helen.
"It's true, your relationship with them isn't good. Is it because of your status?" Helen asked, causing Aiden to stop walking.
"Did your perspective change on me after knowing that I'm a commoner?"
Aiden squinted, seeing Helen look panicked after asking such a question. Helen revealed the truth.
Reinhardt had become a businessman noble since the collapse of their noble status. Because of their status as ordinary businessmen, they interacted a lot with the lower classes.
Helen also had a friend from the common people, the two had been friends since childhood and were inseparable.
This made Helen unable to act arrogantly like other aristocratic children, because her life had always been with commoners since childhood.
"I don't mind going with you at all. I don't hate commoners, I even have friends from them," Helen replied.
"Please don't be angry with me, I didn't mean to offend or interfere with your business," Helen said, pleading.
Aiden was silent for a moment, then sighed slowly. Perhaps Helen was different from other noble children, perhaps not.
But for the past few hours, at least, Aiden hadn't noticed any suspicious behavior from Helen.
"You must have seen a lot of my fights, I can beat them easily, that means I can beat you too," Aiden replied, firmly.
"If you stay obedient and don't betray, I'll let you live!" said Aiden.
"I'll always obey, you don't have to worry about that, Aiden."
The young man nodded. He stepped back into the depths of the forest, away from the outer area of the red wall.
Occasionally, he heard the sound of magic explosions in some places. Aiden found a cave and rested inside, he used his crow again to scout the area.

He flew the crow after his vision was embedded in the crow's eye. The bird flew high in the sky and saw three battles taking place, one of which involved squad 71.
'The longer it went on, the fiercer and more intense the fighting became,' Aiden explained.
Among the three, Aiden saw that one squad battle was almost over. There, the winning team had only three people left, and they had also obtained the gold plate from the losing team.
They could be Aiden's target!
Aiden's eyes opened, deactivating his talent. He stood up and stepped out of the cave, Helen saw Aiden's attitude.
"I'm going to defeat the enemy squad. You stay here until I return," Aiden explained.
"If I don't return and the red wall is getting closer, then good luck with your life," Aiden said.
"Wait! Let me—"
Aiden immediately ran south at a fast pace, leaving Helen behind in the cave and into the forest. Helen looked up at the sky, watching the red wall get closer than ever.
"Be careful, Aiden."

Four hours passed.
Artificial Dimension.
Helen looked very anxious, there was no sign that Aiden would return.
She occasionally looked outside the cave, casting her eyes toward the forest. However, she found nothing.
The red wall was getting closer, Helen was worried that Aiden had really been defeated. That would be the worst situation for her.
Helen pressed the white plate, indicating the approaching countdown time of the main exam.
[Main Exam Countdown:]
[00:05:22:13]
'There's five hours left, night will fall soon, but he's not coming,' said Helen.
But Helen remained optimistic, she was sure Aiden would return safely. It was possible that Aiden was going somewhere else to get their gold plate.
About half an hour into the wait, a voice that sounded familiar came from outside the cave. Helen heard the voice, seemingly calling her name.
Helen rushed out of the cave and saw Aiden coming with his injured right hand. Helen was in shock, she immediately asked Aiden to rest inside the cave.
"What happened?" Helen asked.
"While I was fighting the first team, another team came to attack," Aiden said.
"So, you fought two squads at once?" asked Helen, and Aiden cleared his throat softly.
Not only was his body injured, but his clothes also had many holes like stabbings, even though Aiden had previously gone out in fine clothes.
'These stabs are targeting his vital spots. If it's true that these holes are magic stabs, Aiden should already be dead,' Helen said.
'But from my examination, his body is fine, even the regeneration of the wound on his right hand is fast. What exactly happened to his body?' asked Helen, curious.
Slowly, the wound on Aiden's right hand healed completely. He thanked her and showed her the gold plate he had obtained. Helen could only gawk at the amount.
"What? 42 gold plates?" asked Helen.
"That's right, the first team has 12 gold plates, while the second team has 9 gold plates," said Aiden.
"This way, I'm already confirmed as a student of the academy," Aiden explained, feeling relieved.
Helen smiled slightly, acknowledging Aiden's words as she congratulated him. Helen was happy to see that Aiden had achieved his goal.
Aiden glanced at Helen, she was indeed congratulating Aiden, but there was a look of sadness and disappointment on Helen's face. However, everything was a test after all.
If she didn't have the ability, then she failed. It was as simple as that.
"Thank you, Helen."
