Chapter 4: Essence Creation Skill...
The second order [Refiner] could allow him to automatically extract the finest metals and minerals from ore.
Not to mention it also came with the [Extraction] skill.
This skill in itself is worth acquiring the job. It could extract everything of value from the target. And this is not limited to ore.
It could also work on everything else given that the user had enough strength and capacity or that the target did not have a resistance skill greater than the fifth order or some divine protection.
Xavier did not think that there were many with such abilities.
Even if there were, his [Infinite Skill] was not just for show.
That aside, the subsequent jobs were where things begin to get out of hand.
The third order [Alchemist] is not the same as the first order Alchemist.
The main difference comes in the number of things that they can accomplish and even their methods.
Acquiring the first order alchemist is actually quite easy. Just visiting the nearest potion maker and borrowing a magic circle would have done it.
But the first order alchemist would not have such a powerful skill like [Transmutation].
Transmutation in itself could allow Xavier to turn stone bricks into gold. But that's not all given that he acquired the skill through a third order profession.
His transmutation skill enabled his to alter the structure of anything at the quantum level. This includes magic, energy, force, volume, matter, density, gravity.
This meant that if he so wished, a drop of water can host a crazy amount of magic, energy, density, and gravity while reducing its volume infinitesimally and voila, you've got yourself a blackhole.
Get hit with one of this…
[Tulpamancer] on the other hand tends to take a rather strange turn.
This profession lets Xavier create a dreamworld of sort where his will is absolute. Using [Tulpa Arts], he can manifest the results in the real world but this in itself is limited.
If anybody else were to have this skill, it would only serve to visualize their fancy and if they are lucky enough to have enough power, they could manifest some tricks. But Xavier Adams was entirely different.
Infinitum Continuum alone is enough to make sure that he has enough strength. If you add Dungeon Master and the Infinite Dungeon into the mix, he could make full use of it even if he was a weak chicken.
That said, the profession has some very annoying shortcomings.
First, the creations of the mind tend to stray from the owner's intentions.
Imagination is a curious thing after all and suffers from many disadvantages in itself.
If Xavier were to create something he could not control, that would be troublesome.
Secondly, entities created with Tulpa Arts take the nature of the creator.
It is one thing if they were inanimate objects, but Xavier did not think he could stand any being with his nature.
Still, the benefits brought by this skill vastly outweigh its disadvantages.
For starters, Tulpamancy in its nature does not need much input from the user.
As long as Xavier does not run out of imaginative creativity, he could create the cosmos and everything within it.
The other thing is that all creations are virtual until he decides to manifest them in the real world.
This means that he could run as many tests as he wanted before releasing it into the world.
What's more, not everything needed to be brought to the real world to be of use.
Combine this with [Technoscience] and [Technomagica] and we have ourselves quite the potential for great things.
I wonder if server-side gaming can be popular in this world. Linking it to dungeon crawls might prove brilliant…
Xavier went on ahead to look at the fifth-order profession [Reality Warper] next.
This is the profession that he cannot do without.
Its importance is comparable to divine professions like [Dungeon Master].
As the name suggests, [Reality Warper] directly defies reality and warps it to its master's will.
Of course, the extent of alteration is limited to the user's power and strength, but even then, a little change is quite extraordinary.
Being a fifth-order profession, the job directly gave Xavier even more exaggerated abilities and his range of manipulation can only be countered by the divine.
Still, his goal was the skill that came with the job, [Essence Creation].
Everything that Xavier has gained and learned thus far could in fact be associated with magic and acquired in various ways.
That means that it could also be countered if he were to ever meet his worst match.
Someone like Goddess Ophelia who is the embodiment of Infinity and lords above all can crush him with a pinky.
Not to mention there are those with mastery over nothingness, null, void, and anti-magic.
But all that is nothing before [Essence Creation].
With this skill, Xavier can become the very origin of his strength and derive the essence of his skills and abilities.
Better yet, he could also become the source of strength and abilities for others.
Add to that his innate talent [Infinite Transfer] and we have a completely separate power system that he can exploit however he wants.
This is one of the reasons he was not in a hurry to use the Infinitum Continuum on his attributes.
If he did, the speed at which he converted his strength into Essence Origin would never catch up to his rate of development.
An infinitely growing number is no joke.
Not to mention, there is a crazy lovesick goddess to watch out for.
That said, there was still something that needed to be dealt with before he could be free to do as he pleased.
His 16th birthday was coming up and it was time to go to the temple for a divine blessing.
Ophelia aside, there were many gods and goddesses out there whose divine blessings and protection would benefit him dearly.
I wonder who Ophelia will blackmail this time…
