Infinite Potential System

Chapter 486: The Fourth Joint

William's fist was met with resistance as the Sun Stone Golem's forcefield regenerated and improved once again. Even though the Critical Chance Talent triggered, his Fitness Talent was being used to its maximum potential, and he was using one of the bonus effects to further enhance his attacks, it almost couldn't break through.

But it did, and his fist continued forward until it reached the joint on the Sun Stone Golem's right arm. In a single move, both the forcefield and the marble joint were shattered and the Boss' arm dropped to the floor and chipped apart into four pieces.

The Golem didn't fall over this time, since its legs were still functional. Instead, it swayed slightly as the loss of an entire arm's weight was relieved. The four parts of the arm shuddered for a moment before lifting up from the ground and speeding towards William at a pace only a bit slower than the brown ball fired off earlier.

William narrowly dodged the arm parts by tilting his body to the side. If he was even a millisecond slower, one of the arm parts would have sliced through his Illusionist's Cloak. When the last arm part passed by, William peeked at it to notice some inscribed Arrays that exceeded his realm of knowledge.

As soon as the arm part fully passed by him, one of the bonus effects from the Fitness Talent triggered, granting William a thirty percent speed boost for ten seconds. It was an ability that only triggered when William narrowly dodged attacks, but the fact that it hadn't triggered until now told him just how close "narrow" was.

He didn't waste the time given to him, darting across the Boss arena and dodging earthen projectiles as he prepared another attack aimed at the right arm joint. A second punch fully destroyed the milky marble joint, dispersing its contents all over the floor.

William was blinded as the Solar Nectar within the joint activated the Magical Beast's self-healing ability. That said, he had experienced this attack multiple times now and he was still able to secure much more of the Solar Nectar than he had the last time.

Even blind, William wouldn't miss out on opportunities to collect loot. He tried to store the Sun Stone Golem's arm parts, but something about the fact that it was still alive prevented him from putting it in any of his Space Rings.

The Titanium Specialized Space Rings couldn't do it either, their portal destabilizing the moment the arms were brought close. When he tried forcing an arm in, the Titanium Space Ring became slightly deformed.

Only with the assistance of William's Space Element could he store them inside a Space Ring, but he'd have to constantly channel Space Mana and no one knew how long the Space Ring would last before it was destroyed.

The Sun Stone Golem's vitality reached a new peak as the only remaining undamaged joint was attached to its left arm. Each step it took was filled with energy, as if the Sun Stone Golem would explode at any moment.

Not only its vitality, but the Sun Stone Golem was suddenly moving almost four times faster than before. It could nearly keep up with William's Space Element now, forcing him to constantly use Spatial Steps to dodge the Boss' attacks.

Thankfully its casting speed or the speed of the projectiles it launched wasn't any faster. If William had to deal with another brown bullet like before, he couldn't be confident in surviving. He suffered dozens of strikes from a single tough stone fist, his Forcefield shattering and reforming multiple times with great difficulty.

A punch breached past William's defenses and landed squarely on his chest, cracking some ribs while sharp parts of the fist tore holes in his clothing and created white marks on his bare chest. William was forced back a dozen meters, only stopping because of a soft Earth Wall he cast behind him.

Damn! William cursed as he wiped some orange-yellow dust off the front of his Illusionist's Cloak. So far, this was the most annoying Magical Beast to fight against!

The Sun Stone Golem was still rushing towards William, but he stopped its advance with a large portal that sent it to the opposite side of the room. He made sure to face it in the opposite direction, so he had half a second longer to compose himself.

While the Sun Stone Golem looked around in confusion, William made a move he hadn't used in some time. With quick, precise finger movements and a hint of Mana, William instantly created a dozen Complete Runes that floated in the air like feathers in space.

Barely a flick of the wrist and each Rune formed together to build a Complete Array, or as better known in the Celestial Planes, a Tier 6 Array. The intent embedded within the Runes purposed the Array to enhance William's speed, though its effects were only enough to give him around a ten percent boost.

Either way, ten percent was better than nothing. He used the greater speed to form Arrays of Strength, Mana Gathering, and various others for support that improved his odds against the overpowered Sun Stone Golem Boss.

Before the Golem had fully turned around, it already sensed William's position and fired a spray of Earth Spikes towards him. The Reflexes sub-Talent activated, but he was more than prepared for this attack.

William was already gathering a large amount of ambient Earth Mana to his fingertips, sourced from the Mana Gathering Array.

In addition to the Mana Dominator Talent that allowed him to do something similar without an Array, William was able to enhance the power and casting speed of his next Spell by over six hundred percent, mostly due to the Earth Mana-rich environment.

He duplicated a large brown ball Spell similar to the one that the Sun Stone Golem used, deducing the Spell's functions despite never seeing the Magical Beast actually cast it. He compressed it further and further until it was only double the size of the one that struck him earlier.

Next, he changed its composition, turning the brown ball into a dense, dark-colored tungsten that would be fit for a modern firearm from Reius but packing the destructive power of thousands of nuclear missiles.

It was a perfect representation of how far William had come since the start of his journey as a Cultivator. From barely having the strength to take out a simple fox with the Life Element to launching palm-sized Spells that could destroy a mortal World, William's strength had quickly risen in a span of just a few years.

Thwoom! Stay connected through empire

The room shook and space rippled around the path of the dark ball that could hardly be tied to the Earth Element. Despite the tenacity of his Mana, the tungsten ball started to disintegrate before it could reach the Sun Stone Golem and speckles of dust behind it turned the Spell into a blazing comet.

If the air in the Ascended Realms wasn't so thick, this Spell would have lit the surrounding area on fire due to its high speed. It flew straight and true, breaking through the Sun Stone Golem's forcefield instantaneously and piercing through the left arm joint.
