Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 153: 153 Scatter!

The 52nd floor of the dungeon was dominated by dragon-type monsters with exceptionally high physical resistance, making magic the only effective way to deal significant damage. For Altair, this was basically an invitation to go wild.

If this had been Altair before his journey to the Campione world, his magical energy might have been limited, forcing him to rely on his magic stone rocket launcher for firepower. But now, having returned from that world with an immense reserve of magical power, he could drive his custom-built beam cannon with raw energy. The result was a weapon far more devastating—each shot rivaled the full-power output of his old magic stone launcher.

And since he was standing on the dungeon floor, Altair could tap into the earth's ley lines, converting their energy into magic power. Stamina wasn't an issue; all he had to do was keep channeling energy into the cannon and bombard the monsters.

Boom—

A massive beam tore through the 52nd floor, obliterating obstacles in its path and reducing the monsters hiding behind them to ash. All that remained was a single, gleaming magic stone, waiting for Bete to pick up.

Bete approached the stone slowly, staring blankly at the head-sized drop from the earth dragon. He picked it up with care and returned, handing it to Altair with both hands.

"Thanks, Mr. Bete."

"N-No need to thank me. It's… it's nothing," Bete stammered, flustered by Altair's gratitude.

It wasn't just Bete—the rest of the Loki Familia felt the same: It's only right.

Ever since Altair had taken out nine flying dragons with a single shot, the 52nd floor expedition had taken a bizarre turn. What started as Finn directing the team to tank hits and chip away at monsters while Lefiya unleashed high-level magic bombardments had morphed into something else entirely. Now, any monster that appeared in their line of sight was vaporized by a massive beam within two seconds, leaving behind a magic stone without the slightest chance to fight back.

The Loki Familia's only tasks were to guide Altair and have Bete pick up the stones he left behind.

What was once a perilous journey through the 52nd floor now felt like a casual stroll. Some of them even sheathed their weapons—there was no need for them. None at all.

Every monster they encountered was dispatched by Altair's cannon with a single shot. He showed no signs of tiring. Finn, serving as Altair's "guide," had gone numb to it all.

In Finn's worldview, such terrifying firepower—comparable to high-level elven magic—would exhaust even Riveria after a few casts. She'd slump from mental fatigue and need potions to recover. But Altair? He fired relentlessly without so much as blinking, each shot as powerful as the last, showing no hint of exhaustion.

Was this guy really just LV2? He had to be an LV7 monster in disguise!

Bete, scouting ahead, felt it even more keenly. He'd spot a monster, report it over his shoulder, and a colossal beam would streak past him, instantly erasing the threat. Every time, his heart raced, half-expecting Altair to misfire and take him out too.

So whenever Bete handed Altair a magic stone, he did so with trembling hands.

This guy's my fan? A monster this terrifying is my fan? This isn't a joke, right? I'd better watch myself around him—if I piss him off, I'm dead.

The rest of the Loki Familia shared the sentiment—especially the Amazon sisters. Watching Altair blast monsters to bits with a cheerful smile, they had one thought: We can't afford to cross this guy. He's horrifying!

Before, they'd thought Altair's constant grin made him seem approachable and easygoing. Now? That ever-present smile just marked him as a monster in their eyes.

Finn had already decided internally: the Loki Familia needed to strengthen ties with the Hestia Familia.

"Captain, we've reached the entrance to the next floor."

Thanks to Altair's nonstop monster-slaying spree, they'd rapidly explored the entire 52nd floor and arrived at the entrance to the 53rd.

"Should we head down?" Bete asked. For once, he was unusually well-behaved—no trace of his usual arrogance.

"Let's go. This is an unprecedented opportunity," Finn replied, glancing at Altair before making the call to proceed.

After all, they had a powerhouse in their midst—an LV2 on paper, but in Finn's eyes, a monster whose magical bombardment rivaled LV7. Given enough time, this guy could blast through the entire dungeon!

Maybe even the cannon dragon on the 58th floor could fall to him.

"Mr. Altair, you good with that?"

"No problem," Altair said easily. He could carve through the known dungeon floors, but he wasn't familiar enough with the layout. He needed the Loki Familia to guide him and help him get the lay of the land.

"Alright then, let's move out."

With Altair's approval, Finn gave the order, and the expedition team advanced into the 53rd floor.

Upon entering, Finn immediately directed Bete to resume his role as the vanguard, scouting ahead. The rest of the team fanned out around Altair. Normally, Lefiya would've been the one in the center, protected as the main firepower. But now, with Altair's vastly superior cannon in play, she didn't need to cast anymore. She just stuck close to Ais.

"The layout of the 53rd floor is nearly identical to the 52nd, with only minor differences in design. Overall, it's still part of the [Dragon's Urn]."

"So the monsters here are the same as on the 52nd. The only real differences between floors are the occasional unique specimens."

"Like Cadmus guarding the spring on the 51st—that's one of those special cases."

Finn walked beside Altair, scanning their surroundings and mentally mapping the route. Later, he'd sketch it all out for the next expedition.

"So we should look for any special specimens here, right?"

"Exactly. They often guard unique resources, like that spring water."

For the Loki Familia, the 53rd floor was still largely uncharted territory. Having Altair along made exploring its layout far easier—at least for now.

"Unique resources could mean unique rewards…"

Altair was chatting with Finn when he suddenly found himself unable to speak. A dialogue panel popped up over his left hand.

[See, I Told You!] had activated—without any enemies present.

The ground began to rumble.

"Trouble! Cross-floor bombardment! Scatter!" Finn barked the order, and everyone bolted in different directions, praying they wouldn't be the target.

Altair was no exception. But to his shock, the moment he took a step, the ground beneath him exploded, and flames engulfed him whole.
