Journey to become a God

Chapter 16: Zillao Bracelet

Ye Chen scanned his surroundings and confirmed that the women had left. Finally, he emerged from his hiding spot, letting out a sigh. He never imagined that being handsome could be such a hassle. The primary reason for his predicament was the King's Heart Technique he had learned.

His attempt to buy clothes had completely failed. If things continued this way, everyday life would become increasingly troublesome. Although Ye Chen required Yin energy from women to cultivate, it didn't mean he was willing to sleep with every woman he encountered.

The King's Heart Technique was, in essence, a dual cultivation method. Any woman who cultivated with Ye Chen would receive extraordinary benefits. According to the King's Heart manual, both partners would not only enhance their cultivation bases but also experience significant physical improvements—women would become more beautiful and develop softer, more radiant skin. If this secret were to spread, women would flock to him, desperate to become his partner. Even goddesses from the divine realm wouldn't be immune to the temptation, let alone mortal women on Earth.

Realizing this, Ye Chen decided he needed to conceal his appearance. He resolved to craft a skin mask, just as he had done when he first started cultivating. However, before that, he had other matters to attend to.

As he browsed the shop, he noticed a section displaying old-fashioned clothes that were often overlooked by younger generations. These garments were perfect for hiding his identity. He selected some outfits and accessories, then headed to the dressing room.

When he stepped out, he was dressed in a black shirt, round black sunglasses, and a tilted hat. His once long hair had been cut short with just a knife—his skill ensured the result was impeccable. Ye Chen now looked completely different, his appearance strange yet effective for blending in.

He approached the cashier, an elderly man, and asked, "Uncle, how much for these items?"

The man examined Ye Chen's outfit and the accessories. "In total, that will be fifty dollars."

Ye Chen handed over the cash. "Here you go."

With that, he left the store. As he walked through the streets, a few passersby glanced at him, but soon lost interest.

"Looks like this disguise works," Ye Chen thought to himself.

As he continued walking, he overheard a conversation between two men ahead of him.

"Hey, are you going to the Antique Festival?"

"Huh? What's so interesting about that? Only old folks like antiques."

"You think it's just old people? I heard that many beautiful women from wealthy families attend, accompanying their parents and grandparents."

"Why didn't you say so earlier? Let's go!"

"Heh, I was planning to go anyway—I have some items to sell."

Hearing this, Ye Chen became intrigued. "An Antique Festival? That might be a good place to sell my creation."

Following the two men, he arrived at the festival, where numerous stalls displayed a variety of antiques. Some vendors were even offering so-called spiritual artifacts at exorbitant prices.

Ye Chen had come here to sell an item of his own—a bracelet known as the Zillao Bracelet. It was crafted to neutralize toxins, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate healing. Bored during his cultivation, he had created this second-level spiritual artifact, though it hadn't been an easy task. He had failed multiple times, losing valuable ingredients and magic beast cores in the process.

He set up a simple stall, laying a cloth on the ground before displaying the bracelet. Raising his voice, he called out, "Come and buy the Zillao Bracelet! It detoxifies the body, boosts circulation, and speeds up recovery!"

A middle-aged man in his forties approached and asked, "How much for the bracelet?"

"Uncle, this is a rare opportunity. It's only a hundred thousand dollars," Ye Chen replied confidently.

"What?!" The man's expression twisted in disbelief. "Did you hit your head? You want a hundred grand for this thing?"

Ye Chen remained unfazed. "Uncle, I'm already giving you a 90% discount. Don't judge it by its appearance—its effects are extraordinary! Health is priceless, and this bracelet is a bargain. If you don't buy it, you'll regret it for life."

The man scoffed. "You expect me to believe this is worth a million? If you're going to scam someone, at least be smarter about it."

Muttering insults under his breath, the man walked away. Ye Chen sighed. Convincing people here was proving difficult. If he were in a cultivation world, this bracelet would be worth a fortune. But here on Earth, few believed in magic or spiritual artifacts.

For nearly two hours, Ye Chen attempted to sell the bracelet, but every time he mentioned the price, potential buyers either mocked him or walked away. Frustrated, he decided to pack up and leave.

Just as he was about to stand up, a soft, melodic voice interrupted him. "Are you still selling that bracelet?"

Ye Chen looked up and saw a stunning woman with long, straight hair. Her well-developed figure exuded elegance, and she wore a stylish one-piece dress with a designer bag slung over her arm. Her beauty was almost on par with Su Mengxin, whom Ye Chen had previously encountered. Though she fell slightly short in certain aspects, she was still undeniably breathtaking.

A smirk tugged at Ye Chen's lips. "It seems business isn't over just yet."
