Chapter 19: Back To School
Liu Yue, the woman who had purchased Zillao's bracelet from Ye Chen, was driving toward Hua Hospital, where her grandmother was being treated. She held onto a sliver of hope that a miracle would occur.
Upon arriving at the hospital's parking lot, she quickly exited her car and rushed to her grandmother's ward. Hua Hospital was the most prestigious medical facility in the city, equipped with top-tier technology and staffed by the best medical professionals. Still, Liu Yue couldn't shake the anxiety gnawing at her heart.
Entering the ward, she saw her grandmother lying motionless on the hospital bed. The old woman was connected to an oxygen tube, her frail body seemingly lifeless. The sight made Liu Yue's eyes well up with tears.
"Please, Grandma… get better soon. I still want to spend more time with you," Liu Yue whispered, taking her grandmother's thin hand into her own and gently rubbing it.
With a deep breath, she pulled out Zillao's bracelet and carefully placed it on her grandmother's wrist. She had been told it had miraculous properties, and though she had been skeptical, desperation left her with no other choice.
She waited. Minutes turned into hours, yet nothing seemed to change. Disappointment filled her heart as exhaustion overtook her. Eventually, she fell asleep by her grandmother's bedside.
—
Liu Yue awoke to a gentle hand stroking her hair. Her eyes fluttered open, and to her shock, she saw her grandmother awake and looking at her with a warm smile.
"Grandma?!" Liu Yue gasped, her voice thick with disbelief.
The old woman chuckled weakly. "Yue, my dear, why are you sleeping here?"
Tears sprang to Liu Yue's eyes. She pinched her cheek to ensure she wasn't dreaming. Feeling the sting, she realized it was real.
"You're awake! How are you feeling? Do you have any discomfort?" Liu Yue asked frantically, scanning her grandmother's face for any signs of pain.
"I feel... better. My body feels lighter," her grandmother responded, moving her fingers slightly.
"Don't move too much! I'll call the doctor right away." Liu Yue hurried out of the room.
Moments later, the doctor arrived and conducted a thorough examination. He checked her heart rate, body temperature, and vitals before finally nodding.
"The results of a full check-up will be available tomorrow, but from what I can see, her condition is stable," the doctor said. "She should rest for now."
Relief flooded Liu Yue. She pulled the blanket over her grandmother. "Grandma, you heard the doctor. You need to rest."
As she glanced at the bracelet on her grandmother's wrist, she felt a surge of gratitude. Ye Chen hadn't deceived her after all. Now, all she had to do was wait for the medical results to confirm the miracle.
—
Meanwhile, Ye Chen woke up in his hotel room as sunlight streamed through the window. He stretched, enjoying the comfort of a proper bed—a luxury he hadn't had in a long time. The hotel's amenities were top-notch, providing him with a much-needed rest.
Today, he had plans to return to school. More importantly, he wanted to find a way to gather (Yin), the vital energy released by virgin women. He knew that intimate relations could also extract (Yin), but the first time was always the most potent.
Before heading out, Ye Chen carefully put on a human skin mask to conceal his identity. He didn't want a repeat of yesterday's events.
Arriving at Hexing High School, he observed the bustling students entering the gates. It had been a year and a half since he last experienced this scene. He sighed and made his way to the faculty office.
He knocked on the door. "Come in," a stern voice called from inside.
Ye Chen entered to find his homeroom teacher sorting through paperwork. The moment the teacher saw him, his expression darkened.
"So, you finally dare to show up?" the teacher said, crossing his arms. "Do you realize how long you've been absent? Over a month!"
Ye Chen lowered his head slightly. "I had personal matters to attend to. I wasn't able to return to the city in time."
"No excuses," the teacher interrupted. "Your absence is a serious violation of school rules. The final decision is up to the dean."
"What should I do now?" Ye Chen asked calmly.
The teacher let out a frustrated sigh. "Go to the dean's office and see what he decides."
Ye Chen nodded and left. Upon reaching the dean's office, he knocked on the door.
"Enter," a gruff voice called.
Ye Chen stepped in. An elderly man with sharp eyes looked up from his desk. "Who are you?"
"I'm Ye Chen, a second-year student from Class B."
The dean's eyes narrowed. "Ah, the one who disappeared for over a month. You broke school regulations."
Ye Chen remained unfazed. "Am I getting expelled?"
The dean tapped his fingers on the desk. "No, but from now on, you'll be transferred to Class J."
"Class J?" Ye Chen raised an eyebrow.
"The class for troublemakers," the dean said bluntly. "You'll report there immediately."
Without another word, Ye Chen exited the office and headed toward Class J. As he approached, he heard loud chatter and laughter from inside.
Before entering, he noticed a bucket precariously placed above the door—a childish prank. He was about to step aside when he saw another student approaching, a boy with a gloomy aura. Just as the boy reached for the door, Ye Chen instinctively grabbed his shoulder, stopping him.
Splash! The bucket tipped over, spilling its contents onto the floor.
The students inside burst into laughter, but their amusement quickly faded when they saw their prank had failed. Some of them grabbed mops and began cleaning up the mess, clearly the ones responsible.
The boy Ye Chen had saved didn't say a word—didn't even acknowledge him. He simply walked to his seat as if nothing had happened.
Ye Chen sighed, shaking his head. "Looks like this is going to be interesting." He stepped inside, ready to face whatever challenges Class J had in store for him.
