Journey to the West: Break the entire Western Heaven!

Chapter 89 Sun the Great Bamboozler

The young girl closed the door and returned to the interior of the cave, where she took several turns, crossed two stone bridges, and arrived at a stone chamber.

In the room, a beautiful woman wearing a Brocade Cloud Robe and a tiger tendon belt around her waist, with her shoulders slightly revealed, was sitting cross-legged on a meditation cushion.

Hearing some noise, she slowly opened her eyes and asked, "Who is outside?"

The young girl quickly knelt down and replied, "Grandmother, there is someone outside who claims to come from the Great Tang in the Eastern Land, a Monk named Sun Wukong who wishes to see you. He seeks the Banana Leaf Fan to extinguish the wildfire at Flame Mountain."

Upon hearing the name Sun Wukong, the woman's eyes blazed like fire, her pretty face flushed red, and a faint layer of flames wrapped around her body. She cursed aloud, "That impudent monkey! I have been waiting for him for many days, and now he has finally come! Maid, fetch my armor and weapons. Today, we shall kill the monkey and feast on his brain!"

Seeing the Rakshasa woman's fury, the maid didn't dare to waste words and hurried to retrieve the armor and the two Gentle Breeze Swords.

The Rakshasa woman donned her armor, took hold of a sword in one hand, pushed the door open, and bellowed, "Where is Sun Wukong!"

Sun Wukong started in alarm but feigned composure and bowed respectfully, "Sister-in-law, I am here."

The Rakshasa woman angrily rebuked, "Impudent monkey, who is your sister-in-law?"

Sun Wukong smiled and said, "Your husband, the Bull Demon King, was once sworn brothers with me. As the principal wife of my brother, the Bull King, I naturally should address you as sister-in-law."

The Rakshasa woman said, "You impudent monkey, if you were indeed brothers, then why did you kill my elder brother, True Immortal Ruyi?"

Sun Wukong's heart skipped a beat, thinking that True Immortal Ruyi and the fleshly body of the Bull Demon King died on the same day. If she knew about Ruyi's death, she must also be aware of the demise of the Bull Demon King's fleshly body...

However, Sun Wukong pondered the woman's words—why did she mention only True Immortal Ruyi and not the fleshly body of the Bull Demon King?

The answer could very well be that she didn't know the Bull Demon King lost his fleshly body in the West Liang daughter country...

With this in mind, Sun Wukong had a stroke of inspiration and said, "Sister-in-law, what are you talking about? I have never even met your elder brother."

The Rakshasa woman huffed, "You've never met him? My brother is the Taoist of the West Liang daughter country, Mount Jieyang, and Bo'er Cave, known as True Immortal Ruyi!"

Sun Wukong as if suddenly realizing, slapped his forehead and exclaimed, "Ah, it's him!"

The Rakshasa woman sneered, "You admit it?"

Sun Wukong shook his head, "No, I do not!"

"No?" The Rakshasa woman frowned.

Sun Wukong responded, "Sister-in-law, I have indeed met that man, but I did not kill him." Sun Wukong's assertion was filled with confidence; his eyes didn't even blink, seemingly not the eyes of a liar.

And in fact, it was true—True Immortal Ruyi was killed by Tang Sanzang, not by Sun Wukong...

The Rakshasa woman, unaware of these details, looked at Sun Wukong suspiciously, "Really? Then how did my brother die?"

Sun Wukong sighed and said, "Sister-in-law, you already know of his death, do you not know how he died?"

The Rakshasa woman shook her head, "That dead cow only used the long-distance transmission talisman to inform me of my brother's death, without going into detail... Is there something hidden in this affair?"

Sun Wukong was taken aback—had the Bull Demon King spoken to the Rakshasa woman about this? Then why did he only tell half the story?

Sun Wukong speculated that the Bull Demon King might have done this to avoid worrying the Rakshasa woman, and secondly, this fellow was causing havoc in the Western Cattle Giftlands, even challenging Buddhism. Enmired in karmic troubles, if word got out that his fleshly body had been ruined, his lair would probably be overturned the next day.

Therefore, for safety's sake, the Bull Demon King only announced the passing of True Immortal Ruyi.

This way, with half-truths and half-falsities, it's easier to deceive.

Realizing this, Sun Wukong knew what to say. He sighed and spoke, "Sister-in-law, I don't know what my brother Ox has told you, but there's one thing I can be sure of—he absolutely did not say that I killed the True Immortal Ruyi! Think about it, I'm not as powerful as Brother Ox. With Brother Ox present, how could I possibly kill the True Immortal Ruyi?"

Rakshasi thought about it, and it seemed to make sense. "He indeed didn't specifically say it was you who killed him. He only said that Tang Sanzang passed through the Western Liang Women's Country and killed my brother, the True Immortal Ruyi. You say you're also on a journey to the West to retrieve the scriptures, aren't you guiding Tang Sanzang? If so, then you are my enemy!"

Sun Wukong couldn't help but laugh and quickly said, "Sister-in-law, there's a misunderstanding! Indeed, I am escorting someone to the West to retrieve the scriptures, but we are imposters!"

The rakshasi was startled: "Imposters?"

Sun Wukong nodded and said, "My master, Tang Sanzang, as in conducting a funeral—not the 'zang' from safflower. There are two Tang Sanzangs going to the West for the scriptures, homophonic but written differently; there must be some confusion. My master is just an ordinary little monk, kind-hearted and sincere, never stealing or robbing... How could he overcome True Immortal Ruyi?"

"But the real Tang Sanzang is different. Although he's also a regular person, he has the support of Mount Meru.

He's always accompanied by the Eighteen Arhats, the Six Ding and Six Jia warriors, the Four Heavenly Kings…" Sun Wukong stopped there.

The rakshasi furrowed her brows: "Could it really have been a mistake?"

Sun Wukong nodded: "One hundred percent a mistake!"

Just then, a maid came out: "Madam, I have found out the news you wanted…"

Upon hearing this, the rakshasi's eyebrows shot up: "Bring it here!"

The maid handed a piece of paper to the rakshasi. After one glance, the rakshasi flew into a rage: "You old horny Ox, you really have been sneaking around with other women behind my back!"

Sun Wukong tiptoed to sneak a peek, and saw it clearly written that the Bull Demon King was about to have a grand wedding with Princess Jade Face, announced to all under heaven!

The rakshasi was furious, not pausing to think about the problem.

But Sun Wukong could spot the trick at a glance, thinking: It seems this time old Ox really drained his vital energy, otherwise he wouldn't risk being discovered by the rakshasi and openly reveal his affair. This guy wants to use this way to tell everyone that he's doing fine, still wild, and in great health!

Obviously, though, the rakshasi didn't think so!

As Sun Wukong mulled over this, he suddenly felt a murderous aura approaching.

Sun Wukong looked up to see the rakshasi with blood-red eyes saying, "You damned monkey, you and that old Ox are sworn brothers. If he's nothing good, you definitely aren't either! He deceived me emotionally, you must want to trick me out of my fan, you damned monkey, your life is forfeit!"

Without any reason, the rakshasi began slashing at Sun Wukong with her twin swords.

Sun Wukong felt so aggrieved. It was one thing for this woman to be upset with the Bull Demon King's infidelity, but why the heck was she taking it out on him?

Sun Wukong shouted, "Sister-in-law, stop!"

But the rakshasi replied, "Die, you Ox!"

Sun Wukong inwardly wailed: "I'm doomed, this woman truly wants to take out her anger on me."

With no other choice, Sun Wukong had to pull out his Jingu Bang and engaged the rakshasi in battle.

With the rakshasi wielding her twin swords, waves of Wind Blades shot out, slicing through rock and jade wherever they passed, dreadfully fierce.
