"Then, are you really a modern sorcerer?"

As the sun began to rise, painting a beautiful dawn across the horizon, Itadori sat at the edge of a river canal cutting through the city. He appeared quite relaxed, almost oblivious to the pink-haired woman floating a little above him.

But her question disrupted any chance of him ignoring her presence. His gaze lifted to see Uro, dressed in comfortable attire, hovering just above him. Her dark eyes were fixed on his face, her expression genuinely curious.

This was a… very unexpected situation.

After their fight, Itadori had anticipated Uro would flee in anger, planning some form of revenge for her lost finger. But what actually happened completely defied his expectations.

Since then, Uro had been following him wherever he went—sometimes from a distance, sometimes closely—but always watching him.

It didn't annoy him, but it did make him suspicious. Why this sudden interest? Was it simply because he had defeated her? But that hadn't been the case with Yuta...

Of course, the circumstances were different. He remembered Yuta had deeply irritated her. Still...

It was a bit unsettling to have a woman constantly trailing him and observing his every move.

"I already answered you, didn't I?" Itadori replied, a hint of weariness in his tone as he laid back on the grass.

"It's still surprising, even knowing the answer." She touched her chin, flipping herself upside down as she floated closer, her hair dangling near his face. "After all, sorcerers with this kind of aura were rare even a thousand years ago."

Unbeknownst to him, Uro's interest stemmed from the aura radiating from his body.

An aura was nothing more than the "pressure" of one's soul emanating outward. Unlike cursed energy, an aura could only be suppressed if someone had a deep awareness of their soul.

It was through aura that, even without releasing cursed energy, sorcerers could gauge an opponent's strength.

Beyond strength, an aura could convey subtle information that only the most experienced could detect. Uro, one of the finest assassins of her era, had naturally developed this skill—essential for measuring the danger levels of her targets.

This was how she noticed the predatory aura emanating from the young sorcerer's body. An aura that declared to anyone perceptive enough that he wouldn't hesitate to hunt his prey.

"..." Itadori mulled over the meaning of her words, but, shrugging to himself, he brushed her hair away from his face, his eyes returning to the sunrise. "Alright, alright."

"Tell me, you don't look alike, but your techniques are similar…" She began, her body rotating mid-air as she faced his nonchalant expression. "Could you be related to Yuta Okkotsu?"

"No." Itadori's denial came quickly. "We're not blood-related, and our techniques work in completely different ways."

"Oh~ Then explain it to me." Her dark eyes narrowed with interest as she slowly descended closer to him.

Bam!

As she descended, she was startled when her face collided with a thin, transparent platform. Below her, Itadori wore a smug grin.

"He has a time limit, and it relies primarily on Rika." With his hand gripping the "space" itself to maintain the barrier blocking her, Itadori twisted his hand, distorting the view between them. "But when I copy a technique, it branches off as a new limb of my main technique. This allows me to use it whenever I want."

With a small flick of his wrist, Itadori sent Uro spinning upward. She abruptly stopped herself, her expression shocked.

"Was that enough, Miss Uro?"

Uro blinked, and as she saw him sit up, a smile spread across her lips before she descended to sit beside him.

"Boy, have you already mastered my technique?" She seemed genuinely surprised. Even the irritation of seeing him use her technique faded as she realized how quickly he grasped the concepts behind sky manipulation.

"It's not as complicated as it seems," he nodded, though his tone lacked any mockery.

Uro noticed this but couldn't stop the irritation that returned at being unintentionally dismissed.

"It has some good offensive uses, but it truly shines in defense and mobility." He explained, grabbing two ends of the "space" and stretching it until it became as durable as window glass. "It's a bit strange—I can't tell if I'm directly holding the atoms in the air or if it's something else..."

Letting go of the ends, a snap echoed as the space returned to normal. His eyes blinked in realization. 'Interesting...'

While Itadori pondered his new discovery, Uro observed him with a curious gaze.

'This boy... Not only does he have a powerful technique, but he's also incredibly talented. Living in this era might be quite entertaining.' She smiled, biting her thumbnail as her eyes wandered over his form. 'Maybe I could even produce some descendants this time.'

!

Itadori felt a chill run down his spine, his eyes snapping open in alarm as he turned toward Uro. "Uh?"

But when he saw her looking away, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. 'Did my instincts lie to me?'

He stared at her for a few moments longer, but seeing nothing unusual, he shrugged and returned to watching the sunrise. 'I must have been mistaken...'

"..."

As the two silently watched the sunrise, Itadori couldn't help but reflect on the situation.

It might have been uncomfortable, but there was nothing romantic between them. Uro had a somewhat seductive demeanor, but that was just her personality.

In Itadori's eyes, what was happening between them was nothing more than camaraderie between two warriors who respected each other.

Uro showed interest because of his aura, and he didn't care enough to push her away. Despite her odd behavior, she wasn't being a nuisance.

Moreover, he wanted to ask her a few questions about reverse cursed energy. While she wasn't at a high level, she could use it with some proficiency, considering she had regrown the arm she lost to Rika in less than three days.

Though Itadori noticed she seemed to have difficulty moving her left arm—likely due to incomplete recovery.

'Damn, Sukuna and Gojo are absolute monsters to pull this off in seconds.'

!

As the silence was about to be broken by Itadori's question, both sorcerers froze when something unusual caught their attention. Their focus shifted to the horizon, illuminated by the rising sun.

"Hey, boy, do you see that?" Uro asked, her eyes narrowing as she tried to see more clearly.

"Yeah..." Itadori nodded, focusing on the horizon. He could make out a small black dot in the sky rapidly approaching. "What is that?"

"I don't know, but it looks big…" Uro noted, her body floating as her instincts warned her of danger. "And dangerous."

Itadori continued watching the black dot, his brow furrowing as the figure, obscured by the sunlight, grew alarmingly larger. "Yeah, I think you're right."

"..."

The two exchanged a glance, and nodding in unison, Uro flew off while Itadori ran to prepare for whatever was approaching.

"..!"

But just as he was about to take cover inside a building, his eyes widened as a powerful jet of water struck the structure ahead, obliterating it instantly.

'What is that?' He turned in alarm.

But before he could react, something massive appeared just inches from his body, and he had no time to defend himself as a giant tail struck him with enough force to send him flying across the city, smashing through several buildings before landing heavily in the middle of a street.

"How..." Itadori coughed up blood, caught off guard by the sheer power behind the attack. "How did it get here so fast?"

Boom!

Confused by the enemy's speed, Itadori tensed as a building collapsed a few meters away. His gaze lifted to see something he hadn't expected to encounter in this lifetime—at least not so soon.

Roar!

A thunderous roar made Itadori flinch, a nervous smile spreading across his lips as he felt the cursed energy emanating from the creature before him.

'Just great...' His fist clenched, his own cursed energy enveloping his body.

A giant freaking serpent.

The serpent's eyes glowed with electricity, and a chilling breath escaped its maw.

'And a terrifying one at that.'
