Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?

Chapter 1260: Incredible Timing

Meanwhile, up on the surface...

After the girls were rescued by the kaijin, they had pooled their brains together to come up with a rather absurd plan.

Following Zhen Liu's personal habit of wanting to maintain at least an air of deniability, and learning that he and the rest of their companions had been captured by the enemy, the Kaijin and the Consorts had split up to achieve two objectives that fed into each other.

The Kaijin were going to use the zakos to throw a wrench into the Silver Jungle Dragon Company's plan and rescue the others so that they had an opportunity to either escape or get involved in the fighting under more favorable conditions.

Their aim wasn't to annihilate the enemy this time, despite really wanting to, because they knew better than to get involved in a conflict that definitely didn't involve them.

Well, more involved than they already had.

As for the Consorts and the other two, they were sent off to get the Golden Gorilla Union involved.

As they were the mortal rivals of the Silver Jungle Dragon Shipping Company, and the fact that their boss was currently being held hostage, it only felt right to get them involved.

However, this was where things got logistically annoying.

A good chunk of the Golden Gorilla Union warriors were waiting at the ruins' exit, while the ones that were originally keeping guard at the fountain plaza had been sent on a wild goose chase after a bunch of Silver-tongues.

Therefore, the Consorts had no choice but to split up into two groups to get both sides of the Golden Gorilla Union to get into gear.

Alicia and Harriet were sent to the exit in order to grab the ones that were clueless of all of this insanity, while Alice and Bellona went after the group that had been sent on the wild goose chase.

It took the girls a bit of time, but they managed to find them at the right place at the perfect time.

More specifically, they had managed to intercept the Silver-tongues while the Goldenbacks were hot on their heels.

"Oh."

~Hello there!~

^Oh fuck.^

It didn't take Alice and Bellona too long after this serendipitous moment to decide that the best course of action was to use gratuitous violence.

[Mountain King's Leaping Kick!]

"Oof!"

[Umbral Pummel!]

"Gah!"

Two solid hits was all it took to send two members of the Silver-tongues flying back into the arms of the Goldenbacks, who proceeded to restrain and capture the unlucky lizards.

This, in turn, led to a domino effect where the Silver-tongues that had served originally started this chase were all captured and held hostage by the Goldenbacks, which was a delicious case of irony at its finest.

At least, it was going to be a delicious case of irony once Bellona and Alice informed the Goldenbacks what was happening back at the plaza.

Granted, they may have twisted the story a little bit to keep certain details about the ongoing conflict vague.

Like how the Silver-tongues were being attacked by a horde of puppets under Zhen Liu's control, but it wasn't going great.

On the plus side, they managed to cut everyone loose.

^Wait, Boss Kidanna got kidnapped by the Silver-tongues?!^

^Weren't you listening? She got freed.^

^I know, but still!^

^I knew we shouldn't have fallen for their provocations!^

^To be fair, they did insult your mother.^

^Oh yeah...which one was it again? I wanna see how far I can shove my fist up their—^

^SAVE IT FOR LATER, WE GOTTA HELP THE BOSS!^

^Right!^

Once they knew they were on a timer, the Goldenbacks and the girls proceeded to cease their deliberations and charge towards the battlefield.

As they were on the move though, Bellona made sure to send off a message via [Chaos].

...

'The Goldenbacks are on the move. You are free to recall the zakos at any time.'

[Understood.]

___And now, everything comes together...__

The battle surrounding the fountain plaza was like something out of a mural.

On one side, an army of monsters that looked like they came straight out of someone's nightmares.

On the other, a coalition of warriors from all walks of life, bandits, monks, and noble soldiers, all working together to fight off the former.

If one were to observe this moment as an outsider, they would assume that the monsters were the villains and the aether warriors were the heroes in this situation.

But the reality was very different.

The monsters, the zakos, were simply trying to rescue their captured allies and creator, while the humans, who were all members of the infamous Silver Jungle Dragon Shipping Company, were trying to sacrifice those aformentioned hostages to some broken fragment of a divine being whose reign had long since ended.

As this conflict raged on though, several key events that immediately changed the tone of this battle happened all at once.

First, a sudden yet powerful localized earthquake happened that rocked through the plaza and knocked several fighters over. This in turn, caused several events to occur one after the other.

The leader of the Silver Jungle Dragon Company, Alfonzo, had been caught in death grapple courtesy of Kidanna Dodorado. If the Silver-tongues didn't intervene soon, then their leader was about to get their head ripped off of his shoulders.

^Somebody...get...this...bitch...off me!^

^Shhh, shhh! It'll all be over soon...^

Lythero had attempted to take down Duke Diamoro, the master of the aformentioned Alfonzo, but had missed due to this sudden quake. An immediate consequence of this action was that Lythero soon found himself forced to fight while running near empty.

Making matters worse, Diamoro not only started making active efforts to make sure Lythero wasn't able to hold on to his swords for more than a few seconds at a time, but he had apparently decided to stop holding back entirely.

Alongside his [Astra], Duke Diamoro revealed his [Icon] and dramatically increased his abilities.

^Bahahaha! Looks like history is going to repeat itself!^

^The fuck it is, you old bastard of a cat!^

And lastly, but dramatically more noticeable, most of the zakos had suddenly retreated from the battlefield with no warning or clear reason.

^Get ready to die you-wait, what?^

Some of the zakos had ended up breaking and retreating into the jungle like they were spooked, while even more of them just upped and disappeared on the spot.

Granted, they had actually turned back into their marble forms and rolled away, but the Silver-tongues were too flabbergasted to notice such a weirdly small detail.

The Silver-tongues let out collective sighs of relief as soon as these monstrous warriors had disappeared...but this sigh was a little premature.

^Oh thank the heavens, they're gone.^

^Is anybody injured or dead?^

^I think Santiago go my cracked across the skull and is more or less...wait a minute...what the fuck am I sensing?^

^GET READY TO DIE SILVER-TONGUE SCUM!^

^CRAP!^

Just as the Silver-tongues were in the process of fixing themselves up, they found themselves suddenly invaded again by a slightly smaller, yet significantly fresher legion of Goldenback warriors.

Caught with their pants down and completely exhausted from the earlier fighting, the Silver-tongues were anything but ready in regards to fighting their mortal enemy.

Alas, life wasn't fair and they were more or less receiving karmic punishment for their crimes.

Although, if we're being technical, they were being punished for the crimes of a leader that they desperately needed orders from.

^Godsdammit, where the hell is the boss?!^

^I don't—oh, wait. They're over there...in the middle of a stand-off.

^Oh...we should probably get over there and—^

^DIE SILVER-TONGUE BASTARD!^

^FUCK!^

...Speaking of leaders...

In the chaos that was the sudden arrival of the Goldenback warriors, a rather unusual event occurred.

Moments before this sudden change in participants, Kidanna was just about ready to rip off Alfonzo's head and wash away the betrayal of her father.

Unfortunately, before she could finish the job, Kidanna was forced to make a choice.

^Hey, gorilla girl.^

^Huh?^

^Let him go, or finish off your boy toy here.^

Crack!

^Fuck!^

^Lythero!^

Due to focusing on her revenge, she failed to realize that Duke Diamoro had managed to overpower Lythero and now had her lover in his own death grip.

To be more precise, Lythero had been caught in a grapple by Duke Diamoro who then placed his blade-like [Astra] directly against the former's neck.

Scattered across the battlefield, Kidanna could make out that all seven of her beloved's treasures swords had not only been wrenched away from his grip, but had been damaged through unknown means.

For all intents and purposes, she was stuck in a stand-off with a vicious choice to make.

Then again, so did Duke Diamoro.

Understanding this, Kidanna managed to get to her feet while keeping a hand around Alfonzo's throat.

^How do I know you're telling the truth? For all I know, you could kill Lythero the moment I let this lizard fuck go.^
