Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?

Chapter 1282: ...And Capture

Come on, you lot! The sooner we found new quarry, the sooner I'll stop...wait...this feeling...

The Kaijin Lord and his horde were still in the process of hunting for more... compatriots...when they suddenly sensed something was off.

More specifically, they could sense that the Kaijin that were sent after those strange [Chaos] puppets had been defeated and were forced to swap out.

Not only that, but he could sense that the ones who forced this situation were still sticking around...and were radiating some rather potent energy as well.

Change of plans. We're going after your kinsmen.

[Huh?]

[Why?]

Because it appears, they have already found us some good quarry. In fact, it's quarry of such quality that we're going to have to send you lot on silver wings.

[Oh no...]

...

[You have skill, I give you that. But such things are useless before the raw power of Imperator!]

'Fucking hell! I can't even switch blades!'

Whether it was due to no longer having the element of surprise, or because this Imperator guy was a bad match up, Lythero found himself being shoved into a corner.

At a glance, Lythero could tell that Imperator had a significantly harder shell than Piercer had and that he was more focused on being a straight up brawler than the run-and-gun tactics that Piercer demonstrated. As such, he knew that using any sword other than the [Black Iron Slab] or the [Unrelenting Piercer] would simply deflect off of his body.

Once they started fighting for real though, Lythero realized that using either of those blades wasn't going to be enough.

Imperator was much faster than he appeared, making it so that Lythero had no choice but to block with his blade and [Astra] while having no room to counter.

Slowly, but surely, Lythero was going up shit creek without a paddle.

And that things were about to get even worse.

As he and Imperator continued to exchange blows, Lythero failed to notice that there was a huge spike of energy appearing behind him.

That is, until Imperator called it out.

[What the fuck?! Don't interfere you lousy grubs! This is my kill!]

^What the fuck? What are you even on about?^ Lythero asked before sensing the surge of [Chaos] encroaching from behind. ^Godsdammit.^

Before Lythero could react in time, he found himself getting tackled to the ground by what he thought was a mad bull. In reality, it was a wildebeest-like Kaijin that had smashed into him and was now pinning him to the ground.

[Stay down, meat,] the wilderbeest Kaijin snarled. [Otherwise, I'm turning you into ground meat.]

A heavy hoof began to press down on his spine, preventing Lythero from being able to retaliate. Then again, it didn't help that he was feeling his own aether being suppressed by overwhelming [Chaos].

^Fuck!^

[What the fuck do you think you're doing?!] Imperator roared at the new arrival. [Didn't you hear that this was my kill.]

[Boss's orders! We're to bring them back to the mines. If you got complaints, you can bring it up with him!]

[Bah!]

...Meanwhile...

^GET OFF ME, YOU SLIMY BASTARD!^

[Oooh! I would suggest you stop struggling so much! My slime is rather flame retardant!]

Olstenna and Slammer had exchanged a myriad of blows after the former had suddenly manifested from the [Core] of the defeated Clobber.

However, just as things were about to get good, i.e., Olstenna was about to blow Slammer's head wide open with a well-timed burst of flames to the bottom of their jaw, another kaijin appeared out of nowhere and slammed him into the ground.

This new Kaijin was a weird snail-like kaijin that had slimy voice and even more slimy demeanor.

Normally, Olstenna would've used his flames and fury to burn whomever or whatever was dumb enough to try and hold him down. However, this freaky snail was more than prepared to do just that.

The slime dripping off of this snail-like kaijin was positively loaded with [Chaos] and venom.

As such, not only was Olstenna unable to cause even the smallest of sparks, but he could feel that his body was becoming more and more sluggish by the second.

Needless to say, Olstenna's bloodlust was being slowly and surely replaced by pure frustration at being unable to act.

[What the fuck are you doing here, Slather? This is my fight!]

[Oh don't be so sour, goat boy,] Slather snickered. [It's an order from the boss. He wants to see what kind of idiots had the balls to try and fight the likes of us and actually win. However, if you still want to throw down, I wouldn't mind going a few rounds with ya.]

After making this statement, Slather began to circulate their aether and [Chaos] to the point that a dark shadow began to form around them. One that looked as if it had several dozen faces mixed in.

[Of course, if we are having a go, that means we'd be playing for keeps.]

Due to being in close contact, Olstenna could objectively feel that this slimy, snail-like kaijin was dead serious about their threat and looked more than ready to swallow Slammer whole.

Needless to say, this was a threat that Slammer took seriously as well.

[...tsk!]

While it wasn't enough for him to readily admit defeat, it was enough for him to back down and step away.

[D'awww, that's no fun,] Slather said as they toned down their aura. [But now I can't help but wonder...]

As Olstenna continued to struggle, Slather proceeded to stretch their head out until they were eye level with the raging Aetherii. Granted, they were upside-down when they did so.

[What did you do that warranted such a heavy handed response?]

...One last time...

'Blazejudicator, my gut is telling me that something really bad is going to be happening soon. Do you sense anything?'

[Aside from this Arbalest weirdo? Yes. I'm sensing an aura of Chaos coming towards us. Multiple, in fact.]

'Figured as much...alright. Blaze, in the event that I can't transmit orders through ya, I expect you and Nepeherage to take the lead. Understand?]

[Under...wait, what?]

'Also, keep an eye on the twin dolls. Call it a feeling, but I think those two might be important to dealing with... whatever is going on here.'

[Executor, why are you talking like you're about to die? I don't like this.]

'Oh worst than that,' Zhen Liu assured Blazejudicator. 'I'm going to go and meet this other Kaijin Lord.'

[What?!]

...

"Everybody, haul ass!"

[As you wish mi—wait, what?]

The Kaijin were expecting to hear Zhen Liu call out an attack order, a capture order, anything that would involve them exacting violence against this knock-off Kaijin.

They weren't expecting him to make a retreat order instead.

Especially when, after making the order, Zhen Liu decided to rush in while donning his [Regalia] and turning his weapons into a pair of fighting gauntlets.

Arbalest couldn't even react in time before Zhen Liu clocked him in the face and sent him flying.

While this was happening, Blazejudicator had used this moment to exit from Zhen Liu's body.

Needless to say, the kaijin were freaking out extra hard once they saw this occur. Especially when they noticed Blazejudicator was holding on to Zhen Liu's pouch of zako marbles.

As Zhen Liu continued to punch the shit out of Arbalest, the kaijin proceeded to ask their judicial counterpart as to why this was happening.

[Blazejudicator, what's going on?] Razorstella asked. [Why is the director telling us to retreat?!]

[Executor is planning to go and meet with the "other" Kaijin Lord,] Blazejudicator informed the other kaijin. [Whomever he is, he is sending a whole slew of Kaijin this way, enough to outnumber us three to one.]

[Wait, what?]

Heeding Blazejudicator's words, the other kaijin began to tune their senses in the direction that the burning judge had told them to look.

Once they did, they could sense about a dozen or so Kaijin that were as strong as they were.

[Big whoop!] Screamira protested. [It doesn't matter how many there are, we can take them.]

[Yeah! Also, if the ringmaster is aiming to meet this knock off Lord, then we should be there to assist,] Springerdermain added.

[The problem isn't whether or not we can take them. The issue is whether or not their creator can learn from us,] Blazejudicator retorted. [Haven't you noticed something odd about these Kaijin?]

[The weirdly solid cores, the fact that they eat each other, the fact that they can't communicate through telepathy like us or the fact that they seem to swap places with one another's existence once one of them dies?] Nepeherage listed off.

[Yeah, also, no zakos or proto-kaijin and these guys feel oddly solid,] Blazejudicator added. [What does that mean?]

[That means...]

[Whomever made these guys isn't able to use Chaos in the same way our lord can,] Nepeherage answered. [He can't create Kaijin like us, with cores like ours. If he gets his hands on us, that means he can learn to.]

[...oh.]
