Chapter 31: Your Cheat Code Has Been Activated 

Exhausted, Tonari returned to his room.

Looking at the books and scrolls neatly arranged on the table, he realized that in the past two weeks, he had memorized all their contents.

No joke—those who study medicine have the strongest memory!

Besides the books, there was also a piece of paper detailing the exercises he needed to focus on this week, along with the possible outcomes, all laid out clearly.

After carefully reading through it twice, Tonari committed everything to memory, and the scroll self-destructed.

Fortunately, Tonari had excellent memory.

After finishing reviewing documents, Hiruzen Sarutobi was about to take out his crystal ball to relax and unwind, when several ANBU agents suddenly appeared before him.

After Tonari returned to the Nara clan compound, two of them stayed outside to keep watch, while the rest returned to the ANBU base to deactivate their disguises and resume normal lives.

Tomorrow morning, they would deliver their report on Tonari to Sarutobi's desk.

But today, they had to appear before him.

Noticing their arrival, Sarutobi calmly put his crystal ball back in its place.

The ANBU captain quickly and briefly relayed the events that had occurred earlier in the evening.

The mysterious ninja they had encountered had only engaged with them briefly before vanishing. However, the enemy's strength was considerable, not inferior to their own, and it seemed as though the enemy knew their battle tactics well.

Since their mission was to observe the Jinchuriki, they had not pursued the opponent, and fortunately, Tonari was unharmed.

However, the situation was suspicious. After confirming Tonari's safety at the Nara compound, they immediately reported back to Sarutobi.

Sarutobi's pipe, which had been extinguished, flickered with a dim light.

"I understand. You can go now. Tomorrow, proceed as usual," Sarutobi said, his tone even and calm.

Upon receiving their orders, the ANBU agents vanished instantly.

Sarutobi, alone in his office, slowly stood up, holding his pipe in one hand, his other hand clenched into a fist behind his back.

He walked to the window, gazing out over Konoha.

"Danzo, there are some things you've crossed the line on. I understand you do it for Konoha, so I've let it slide, but now you've crossed the boundary!" Sarutobi muttered as he watched the sunset over Konoha.

His strength now, much like the setting sun, was on the decline, but it didn't mean it lacked warmth!

Danzo, the moon that relied on the sun to shine, should know—without the sun, where would the light come from?

"Get me a report on Root's recent activities! And issue them a proper warning!" Sarutobi's voice was steady and strong.

From the shadows of the corner, an ANBU agent appeared, bowed on one knee, and then disappeared.

Sarutobi continued to gaze at Konoha, lost in thought.
