Legendary FBI Detective

Chapter 215: Someone is Staring at Earley's Butt

The pitch-black SUV sped down the street.

"Just now, a gunfight broke out in Coney Island!"

Mona was very anxious on the phone:

"The person who called the police was a retired NYPD who was there relaxing and playing with children. He said there were two shooters."

"Son of a bitch!"

Reesi's face instantly darkened as she asked:

"Was it Earley-Louis who opened fire? What exactly happened?"

"Sorry, I don't know!"

Mona on the other end of the line indicated that the caller didn't say, and she was trying hard to access the surveillance cameras from the amusement facilities on Coney Island.

Turning the steering wheel sharply and flooring the gas pedal, under the astonished gazes of Lead and the SWAT team, Luo An raced past them, leaving them far behind.

"If I'm not mistaken,"

Driving the SUV swiftly threading through the traffic on the road, Luo An frowned and thought for a moment before saying:

"It must be the mastermind sending someone to silence Earley-Louis."

"What?"

Reesi and Mona were slightly startled upon hearing this, but after thinking it over, it seemed like the most reasonable assumption.

Still, Reesi had some doubts:

"Isn't Earley-Louis the head and leader of Black Mamba-7 in the New York Region?"

"You said it yourself, in the New York Region."

Luo An remained expressionless:

"With the Organized Crime Investigation Department preparing this time, the indictment charges 141 individuals involved with the Black Mamba-7 organization's New York Branch.

Under these circumstances, Earley-Louis's position was surely not secure."

The internal rules of most gang organizations at the federal level are quite simple:

The strong rise, and the defeated fall.

The position of head of the New York Region is lucrative and prestigious... Certainly, many must have been eyeing Earley-Louis's spot, waiting for the key moment to deliver a millennial kill.

Reesi nodded her head in realization, and Mona spoke again over the phone:

"Luo An, the gunfight over there has just ended. How much longer until you arrive at Coney Island?"

"We're already here!"

"What?"

As soon as Mona's voice fell, Luo An stamped on the brakes, bringing the SUV to a stop by the roadside, then pressed the intercom and said loudly:

"Lead and all SWAT members, as soon as you arrive at Coney Island, immediately block all exits in the area!"

"Understood!"

"Got it!"

"Very good."

Seeing those families frantically fleeing nearby, Luo An grabbed a guy dressed in a staff uniform, and after figuring out the direction of the gunfire, immediately charged in that direction with Reesi.

"Reesi, you take left, I take right! Stay alert at all times!"

"No problem!"

Following the direction indicated by the staff member just now, Luo An and Reesi quickly made their way to the site of the recent shootout.

In a spot not too secluded, in the middle of a small grove, next to a carousel under maintenance sign.

The maintenance sign had already fallen to the ground. Reesi carefully examined the bushes not far away, while Luo An, holding a Glock 18 with a guarded stance, slowly approached and found two bullet holes through the sign.

Carefully surveying the surroundings, Luo An suddenly noticed a small patch of blood on a nearby bench meant for resting and a few shell casings, his brows slightly lifted, he immediately moved quickly following the blood trail on the ground.

"Reesi, follow me!"

"OK!"

Not far away, the blood trail led to a square building resembling a power distribution room.

By now, Reesi had also noticed the blood on the ground. As she furrowed her brows, Luo An wrinkled his nose slightly, sniffed carefully, and instantly smelled a much stronger scent of blood.

Waving her hand, Reesi and Luo An positioned themselves on either side of the main door, exchanged glances, and Luo An, holding a Glock 18, kicked open the door.

The two slowly walked into the power distribution room, where the body of a black male, eyes wide open in death, was leaning against the wall.

Seeing the body, Reesi's brow twitched:

"That's not Earley Louis."

Bending down to casually inspect the area around the black man's body, Luo An found, besides the pistol in the man's hand, two bullets that did not belong to that gun but were 9mm bullets for an M9 pistol.

"Indeed, that's not Earley Louis."

Luo An nodded, then stood up and said:

"He must be the assassin sent to silence Earley."

But Earley Louis, who rose to his position through his skills as an assassin, was obviously more capable than this black man. He not only saw through this guy's intentions but also counter-killed the man sent to silence him.

Luo An licked his lips, his heart rate increasing slightly.

An interesting character.

Taking the 9mm M9 bullets Luo An handed her, Reesi pursed her lips, her expression quite ugly:

"We're not too far from the few exits that lead out of Coney Island. Earley Louis could very possibly have already escaped from here."

"No, he's just left this place."

Luo An shook his head. The blood on the floor hadn't coagulated yet, the wounds on the chest of the body were still bleeding, and there was still a faint smell of gun smoke in the air near the entrance of the room—all indications that Earley had left not long ago.

Reesi wrinkled her nose and took a careful sniff but didn't smell the gun smoke; she frowned slightly, somewhat distrusting Luo An's analysis.

With the situation urgent, Luo An couldn't bother to explain further. He walked quickly out of the power distribution room, carefully surveyed the surrounding terrain, and, putting himself in the assassin's shoes, identified two paths suitable for escape.

Frowning, Luo An suddenly remembered the [Tracking Potion] the system had offered earlier. While Reesi was still inside the building, he quickly took it out, opened it, and downed it in one gulp.

Holding the M9 bullets, he had just picked up from the ground, a faint blue silhouette suddenly appeared before Luo An, holding an arm and rapidly running towards the left path.

Seeing this, Luo An grinned and forcefully stamped on the ground with his right foot, shooting off like a bullet towards the left path and shouting loudly at the same time:

"Reesi! Contact the SWAT team, focus on blockading the two exits at the northeast side of Coney Island!"

"What? Why?"

Reesi, who was in the room examining the body, was puzzled by the shout and hurried out to ask, only to find that Luo An had completely disappeared.

"Damn, Luo An is getting faster and faster!"

Reesi's eyelids twitched. Although she still had doubts about Luo An's judgment, she quickly pressed the communicator:

"SWAT team! This is Reesi!"

On the other side, the fully armed Luo An, followed by the pale blue silhouette and under the astonished gaze of the passersby, rapidly made his way to a small plaza on the northeast side of Coney Island.

From a distance, Mona, watching through a monitor, quickly asked:

"Luo An, what have you discovered?"

Luo An didn't reply. At this moment, there were four SWAT officers barricading the exits, carefully checking every person trying to leave the area.

Just then, as the effects of the potion slowly faded, the pale blue silhouette started to fade away.

Luo An didn't care; clothes can be changed, disguises can be altered, but the wound on an arm can't be dealt with in a short time.

With a grave face, he quickly walked through the crowd in the plaza. A SWAT officer, spotting Deputy Squadron Leader Luo An, quickly approached.

Just as the SWAT officer was about to speak, Luo An's nose twitched, and his left hand suddenly formed a fist, swinging violently towards a man holding a small boy at the officer's side.

Watching the monitors, Mona gasped and quickly covered her mouth.

Feeling the rush of air beside his ear, the SWAT officer looked stunned and was about to speak.

Seeing Luo An aiming his punch at a passerby father, several people in the plaza suddenly widened their eyes, ready to shout out.

Before anyone could make a sound, the passerby father's complexion turned very ugly as he suddenly used his child's head to block Luo An's approaching fist.
