Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 109: Skills level ups

Even if he felt satisfied with the results, there was still a tad bit of disappointment present in his heart.

The Regaldis plant that had the ability to regenerate the mana of a user was of the Common Quality grade and the potion that he made was Extremely common.

Meaning that whatever process the plant went through, it was not on par and could only demote the grade of the potion altogether.

Lucas had time to think about the process and implement them each time he tried to strive for better. But right now, he was in a dilemma. Lucas did not know what his purpose was.

'Am I here to hunt and kill only? Since I have come here, the only thing I am doing is killing and leveling but is that it?' He thought.

Lucas was confused about his whole existence. He did not know whether the group also felt like this from the inside.

Questions like- Why were they here to begin with? Who sent them here? Are the gods playing with them? He asked in his heart even when on the Earth, he did not believe in the gods and only thought them to be fake.

Were there extra-terrestrial beings playing with them, the aliens that were so famous on Earth when they didn't even know if they were real?

'But all the creatures I have seen so far are from different planets… Different planet means extraterrestrial beings so what else?'

Lucas thought, the more he went from thought to thought, the more he felt the need to know his purpose.

The system had given an objective to them and aside from that he didn't know what he was doing or what he should do. The system was the only thing telling him how strong he was getting but what if this all was just a big dream that he was in after playing all those games in his free time?

It was a very dangerous thought because everything was too real, a person had actually died in a gruesome and sacrificial way that Lucas didn't even know a dream could even generate.

If he were to start thinking of it all as a game, the lives of the others won't matter to him. It was just a dream and if he were to die, then Lucas will reach the real world. Find more chapters on empire

"Lucas…"

Lucas heard his name called from the front, he looked at Sarah who was staring at him with a very concerned face.

Sarah sat beside Lucas at the corner of the shelter's territory. She was sitting side by side with him.

Lucas kept quiet for a while and looked at the sky. There was a sun but it shone brighter than the one in his galaxy. The stars were still visible even when the sky was bright.

"Do you think this is all real?" Lucas asked with a heavy heart, he did not want to place such thoughts in her mind.

But to his surprise, Sarah only chuckled in response. Seeing him staring at her with a frown, Sarah stopped herself forcefully, and with a bright smile, she said one thing that made the whole perspective feel like a waste of time.

"Does it matter?"

Lucas's eyes were wide, his mind on overdrive. The guy had not thought like this in the first place or else his thoughts would have not been so crazy to begin with.

'Does it matter?' He asked in his mind and instinctively, he had the thought that no, it did not matter.

'Back in my life, I didn't think whether it was real or a dream so why would I think like this right now? It doesn't matter, I just have to live and see the end…'

For the first time in those minutes, Lucas sighed with satisfaction, and a small smile plastered on his face.

Sarah didn't say anything but she kept smiling while looking at him. Her helping Lucas may have been a normal thing for him but for her… it was a very precious moment.

Sarah rose from her seat and decided to dedicate some time to train her skills. As she left, Lucas found himself alone in the corner, but instead of being consumed by gloomy or negative thoughts, he felt a renewed sense of hope and determination.

He looked at Sarah leaving his side with new feelings and perspective toward her. In his mind, a thought was being formed that in times of need, he could go to her aside from John too.

From then on, Lucas did exactly what he was supposed to for this phase, it was to train his skills.

First came the punching practice in which he jabbed and performed some very specific moves from the past and some movements that he had developed with practice. It was observed that Lucas had a lot of stamina, he could punch for many hours with great speed but still, he would not feel tired.

At last, after an hour of extreme training, he went near a tree like usual and punched it with all his might.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

No one reacted to his training but still, their hearts fluttered with many emotions looking at Lucas performing some very basic punches and making the tree shake making fresh leaves and weak branches to fall.

The bark's outer layer broke making the bright light brown skin inside show itself and from that point, the tree still vibrated but there was not a single mark on its trunk from his punches.

Nobody knew including Lucas, but in his concentration, he had missed the text of the skill level-up that he was dearly aspiring for.

In another corner of the shelter, there was another man that practiced intensely. A transparent see thorough ball was present in his hand that seemed to move at a very high pace. A grin was plastered on the man's face that didn't seem to dwindle anytime soon.

John finally had a breakthrough and at the very moment, his skill leveled up just like Lucas.
