*Ding Dongggg, You have arrived on the Second Floor* Lost in thought as he tried to figure out what the hell Garret meant by his earlier statement, Aoni's attention drifted away from the floor tiles and toward the elevator doors as a soft female voice came over the speakers. Before he could even ask where to go, Garret shoved past him and began walking with purpose down the wide hallway. 'Yeah, he's pissed; I guess I shouldn't have been a smart ass; well, I thought I hid it pretty well with an innocent tone' Hiding his smirk with his bangs, Aoni followed the Yellow-Card out of the elevator, down the hall, took a right then two lefts and ended up in a large room 10 times the size of the testing ones. The instant Aoni stepped past the wall, the sound of idle chatter blasted him, and his eyes darted around, taking in the contents of the room. At a glance, it appeared to be a typical meeting space, one filled with couches for lounging, a snack bar area, and even a few isolated pods meant for taking naps. But the main attraction was none other than a cluster of 4 wall-sized screens, which, as the minutes passed, would display a list of names and scores. "All the scoring tables will be updated every 10 minutes, and once your name appears, head to the nearest terminal, swipe your card, and you will receive further instructions." Spinning around, Garret shot him something between a glare and a dismissive look before walking away as if he and Aoni had never crossed paths before. That was it, no good job, no see you later, the dude just left. 'Well, that…was anti-climactic, sigh, welp, we've done all we can to stay unnoticed…' Shaking his head, Aoni pushed any thoughts of the annoying man out of his mind and continued acting lowkey while making his way over to the snack bar. However, when he got in line behind a group of teenagers who seemed to know each other and looked up at the list of items he could choose from, he frowned. 'Fuck…I don't have any money, and I never got my backpack back…' Dropping his shoulders, Aoni turned and was about to walk away when suddenly someone caught him by the arm, making the lad freeze in place. "Let me guess, no cash, don't worry about that, it's all free to newly awakened. All you have to do is swipe your Access card, and you can pick whatever you want." The voice of a young man stated as he spun Aoni around to face him. "Uh…thanks…I didn't bring any with me when I left school." Looking down at the hand firmly holding him in place, Aoni's eyes narrowed, and he felt the strong urge to free himself, yet resisted. "No biggie, someone did the same for me a few minutes ago, just passing it on; after all, we are all newly awakened…holy shit, Orange!" Catching the sight of the card dangling on Aoni's chest, the guy quickly released Aoni's arm and took a step back, a mixture of fear, surprise, and hesitation painted across his face. "I didn't mean anything by grabbing you, sorry," careful with his words, the young man took a step back and did his best to placate Aoni, and after noticing the Grey card hanging from the young man's chest, he understood why. Grade-Hierarchy. As a Grey-Card, the guy had merely awoken his Attribute and hadn't been able to increase it even after a month in Genovia; as such, he was given the lowest possible Tier for a Traveler. As an Orange-Card, it could be said that among newly Awakened, Aoni was considered one of the Best, and when he saw this guy's reaction, it was only then that he became more aware of his surroundings, more so the cards hanging on people's chests around him. 'Grey, grey, red, grey, red, red, what the hell?' He thought without showing any outward reaction. | Technically speaking, the User is also a Red-Tier, | 'You think I don't know that,' feeling his eye twitch at the floating chat box's off-handed comment, Aoni stepped forward with the line and ignored the strange looks he was receiving from his peers. 'Here I am, trying to stay low-key, and now I have a literal target hanging from my chest; I just hope that…' "OUT OF MY WAY, CLEAR THE LINE, STEP ASIDE!" 'Sigh…I didn't even finish throwing up the flag, and one of those idiots showed up,' Closing his eyes for a second, Aoni took a slow, deep breath and stepped to the side just in time for a guy wearing fancy clothes to brush by and stumble because of his sudden clearing of the path forward. "Woah…BANG! WHO DARES?" The angry voice screamed from the Floor in front of Aoni. 'Great, just what I fucking needed today,' "YOU! THURSTON! HOW DARE YOU…cough, I apologize for my outburst just now, Aoni," A familiar black-haired young man wearing flashy and expensive clothing howled. However, partway through the statement, the guy, who Aoni knew quite well as he had been one of the primary bullies in his class, Harold Reed, caught sight of a flash of orange and suddenly changed his tone, turning apologetic and stunning Aoni silly. 'It just had to be Harold, didn't it? Well, it seems this Orange-Card isn't half bad if it can easily deter idiots like him without me saying a word. "It's fine, Harold, stand up, and remember where we are right now," noticing that the idiot was causing a scene, Aoni quickly gave up on getting a snack anytime soon and retreated, leaving not only Harold but everyone else in line confused about what just happened. 'So he got a Grey-Card; something isn't right here; I mean, even though my Attribute is kind of cheatlike, I was still able to raise it to 3-Star in the allotted time nearly, yet the number of Grey-Cards I am seeing doesn't seem normal. | It is quite abnormal indeed; either this batch of Newly Awakened was particularly weak, or something is going on behind the scenes | 'That's a thing?' Stopping in place, Aoni stared at the floating chatbox with wide eyes. | It's not impossible, but extremely improbable |
