Lets save the World of Hell

Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Escape!

The sky, once blue, was now filled with black smoke. Flames consumed the collapsed houses, bodies lay scattered across the streets, and blood soaked the ground. Amid the chaos, Adam, Mikasa, and the small child they had saved ran through narrow alleys, dodging the Titans roaming the city.

The child sobbed uncontrollably in Mikasa's arms.

"Mom… Mom…"

Adam glanced at the boy with a grim expression. This child had just lost everything. But if they stopped now, he would lose his life too.

"Mikasa," Adam called out as they ran. "We need to find a way out of here. If the inner gate is still intact, we can head toward the inner district."

Mikasa nodded. She tried to soothe the child with a gentle voice, but he only continued to cry.

Suddenly—

BOOM!

The ground in front of them cracked as a 10-meter Titan crashed down from above, crushing a house beside them!

The child screamed in terror, and Mikasa instinctively stepped back. Adam felt his heart nearly stop.

The Colossal Titan must be dropping Titans from the top of the wall!

The fallen Titan slowly rose, its neck shifting with a sickening crunch. Its empty eyes locked onto Adam and Mikasa. Then, it opened its mouth—

And let out a deafening roar.

"RUN!!" Adam shouted.

They turned down another alley, but—

Two more Titans emerged from the other end.

They were trapped.

Mikasa immediately pulled the child behind her, ready to shield him with her own body.

Adam scanned the area, thinking fast. There was no escape. They had only two options: fight or die.

One of the Titans began to move, its heavy, lumbering steps echoing through the narrow alley.

Adam gripped the small knife on his belt. It wasn't enough to kill a Titan, but it could stab them in the eye.

He glanced at Mikasa, his eyes serious.

"I'll distract them. When I give the signal, run as fast as you can."

Mikasa glared at him. "No. I'm fighting with you."

"THERE'S NO TIME TO ARGUE!!" Adam snapped. "If we all fight, this kid won't make it!"

Mikasa bit her lip, then looked down at the terrified boy behind her. Finally, she nodded.

"Fine. I'll wait for your signal."

Adam took a deep breath. His mind raced.

The only way out was to throw the Titans off balance.

He sprinted to the side, grabbed a loose brick from the ground, and hurled it at the biggest Titan's face.

BANG!

The brick struck its eye, making it roar in pain.

Now!

Adam leaped onto a pile of rubble and slashed his knife across the Titan's eye!

"ARGH!!"

The Titan howled, swinging its arms wildly—barely missing Adam.

"NOW, MIKASA!!"

Mikasa immediately picked up the child and sprinted past the Titan as it thrashed in agony.

But—

Another Titan lunged toward them!

NO!

Adam gritted his teeth and jumped onto its back, driving his knife into its neck!

"YOU PICKED THE WRONG FIGHT, MONSTER!!"

The Titan roared and turned its attention to Adam—exactly as he had planned.

He immediately sprinted after Mikasa and the child.

"Keep going! I'm right behind you!"

They ran through the alley, finally emerging onto the main street.

But what they saw made them freeze.

The gate of Shiganshina… was completely destroyed.

And in the distance, Titans kept flooding in endlessly.

Cold sweat trickled down Adam's neck. Mikasa clenched her fists.

"…What do we do now?"

Adam frantically scanned the area—until he spotted a horse-drawn cart abandoned near the rubble.

He turned to Mikasa, his expression serious.

"We can't reach the inner district. But if we take that cart and escape through the river, we still have a chance."

Mikasa hesitated. "The river's current is strong. We could drown."

Adam took a deep breath.

"Better to take the risk than be eaten by Titans."

Mikasa nodded. "Alright. Let's do it."

They rushed to the cart and climbed on.

Adam grabbed the reins and whipped them.

"HYAA!!"

The horse galloped at full speed, racing toward the river—while the Titans began to notice them.

BOOM!

A Titan tried to grab them, but the cart was too fast.

Adam glanced back—

Dozens of Titans were chasing them.

"We need to jump into the river on the count of three…!"

Mikasa held the child tightly, ready.

Adam took a deep breath.

"ONE… TWO… THREE!!"

They jumped!

The icy water swallowed them as they were swept into the raging current—

Darkness engulfed them…
