Lets save the World of Hell

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Under the Stars!

That night, after an intense training session, Adam and Mikasa sat on a small hill overlooking the Shiganshina District.

The sky was filled with stars, and the night air was cool.

Mikasa sat with her knees drawn up to her chest, occasionally glancing at Adam who was lying on the grass with his hands behind his head.

It was quiet... only the sound of the wind gently blowing between them.

Mikasa finally opened her voice. "I still can't beat you."

Adam chuckled. "You almost did. If I hadn't reacted quickly, your fist would have landed on my face."

Mikasa turned her head and looked at him. "You were just humoring me."

Adam turned his head and smiled a little. "I wasn't. I was serious. You're progressing faster than I thought."

Mikasa was silent for a moment, then said softly, "... Thanks to you."

Adam looked at her, a little surprised by her softer-than-usual tone.

"I wasn't this strong before," Mikasa continued. "If it wasn't for you, I might have given up early on."

Adam sighed, then sat cross-legged facing her.

"You decided to be strong, Mikasa. I just gave you a little push."

Mikasa looked down for a moment, then looked up at Adam with eyes filled with something she couldn't explain.

"Why do you always help me?"

Adam paused, then looked up at the starry sky for a moment before answering.

"Because you're important to me."

Mikasa was a little surprised to hear those words. "Important...?"

Adam nodded and smiled a little. "I may not be the strongest or the wisest. But I know one thing... I don't want to lose you."

Mikasa felt her chest thump a little.

She was not used to hearing such words.

"So, I want you to keep improving. Not just for survival, but for yourself. To become someone who can stand tall, no matter how hard this world tries to bring you down."

Mikasa bit her lip lightly.

Then, without thinking, she slowly leaned her head on Adam's shoulder.

Adam was a little surprised, but he didn't resist.

Mikasa closed her eyes briefly, savoring the warmth she had rarely felt since losing her family.

"Thank you, Adam..." she whispered softly.

Adam smiled a little and looked up at the sky.

"I'll always be here, Mikasa."

That night, without the need for many words, their relationship grew stronger.

And under the star-filled sky, their bond grew deeper than just friends.
