Lord Evolution: Starting With SS-rank Skills

Chapter 232: The Cult ( 2 )

Nighttime in Winterseed Village, Rowan's Place.

Riela could be seen seated in a meditative position on the ground, her gorgeous white hair relaxed on her shoulder, fluttering gently to the cool evening breeze that drifted through the room. Her eyes were shut and she appears to be in a state of deep focus, only her mouth appears to be moving as she recited a series of strange words silently and repeatedly.

A tiny veil of pale white aura shrouded her figure and traces of energy could be seen being absorbed at a steady pace from the mana stone placed in front of her.

She was experiencing her first minor breakthrough in magic cultivation!

Dragun was also present in the room, standing in front her with his hands folded and eyes fixed on the activities going on around her.

"She hadn't been really serious with cultivating magic due to her involvement in tailoring and other issues happening in the village and yet she still managed to cultivate her magic to the point of a minor breakthrough, this sort of talent is rare." Dragun muttered to himself.

"I was expecting her to reach this minor breakthrough in a month or two but she has surpassed my expectations yet again. If she was as serious with her magic cultivation as she is with tailoring, with her current talent, she might have already become a level two apprentice long ago."

Earlier that evening, Dragun had been busy preparing a special potion when Riela approached him, telling him about a strange sensation she felt in her stomach.

Being an expert, Dragun immediately understood that she had reached a bottleneck. He paused his potion brewing and hurried to assist her.

He could have sent Vishirk, but Vishirk had already left the village in the bright hours of the evening, heading into the dark forest to search for herbs needed for a potion he was working on. Discover stories at My Virtual Library Empire

Of course, Dragun didn't suspect anything unusual about the kid, so he let him go, remaining unaware of the chaos the "Kid" had caused in the dark forest, endangering his son and his people.

"Try to recite the magic phrase faster Riela, this is the last mana stone we have, if the mana in it dries out; you'll have to postpone this till when we get our hands on another mana stone." Dragun instructed.

Riela didn't respond to his instructions as she was in a state of deep focus that couldn't be broken, nevertheless she heard his words and obeyed.

The movement of her lip became faster and the aura around her began reacting even more.

"She is getting there." Dragun smiled.

Aside from the external activities, Riela also felt a strong reaction internally. It was as though her internals were being bombarded with a chilly energy.

The sensation was strongest in her navel area; she couldn't explain it, but it felt as though something inside was being filled with power, causing it to expand rapidly—it was her mana core.

However, at the apprentice stage of magic, she wouldn't be able to directly observe her mana core. Mages like Vishirk and Dragun could do that easily.

Time went by and the reaction within Riela got stronger.

Thankfully it wasn't painful like during her awakening, Infact the feeling was thrilling and exciting as thought one was consuming a delicious meal.

Riela could feel herself reaching an unknown point. Dragun also felt it.

BUM!

Suddenly, Riela felt something expanding speedily inside her body releasing a strange sound.

Immediately after this sensation passed, a cooler sensation watched over her body and she felt lighter and stronger.

"Congratulations Riela, you've done it! You are now a level two apprentice mage!" Dragun called out excitedly.

Riela eyes opened with her sweet smile creeping on her gorgeous face.

As she opened her eyes, the world around her instantly became different from before she began her breakthrough.

Her eyesight had become better, she could see a little bit clearer in the dark. Her hearing, smelling and sensation to the atmosphere around her had also gotten better than usual.

She enjoyed this new feeling for about ten seconds before Dragun strolled closer and gave her a hand of assistance.

She took his hand and he helped her up.

"Tell me how it feels." Dragun asked with a calm, fatherly smile with a hint of pride.

"It feels great...." Riela explained how she felt to Dragun including the improved sense.

"Haha, those are the immediate noticeable effect of the first breakthrough. Try to use your bubble shield spell and you'll see that the casting time has reduced by about 30%."

"Really?" Riela eyes shone curiously.

Dragun nodded.

Without wasting time, she began casting the spell for bubble shield and just as Dragun explained, the casting time had reduced. This made Riela excited and even more curious.

"What are the other effects I would notice?" She asked.

Dragun took time and explained them to her one after the other starting by explaining how learning new spells would become faster than usual and how her grasp of her element affinity would grow. The more he explained all these to her, the more excited she became, she swore to spend more time on her magic cultivation in order to reach her second breakthrough.

"Take your time with cultivation alright, you do not have to rush things, the pace you're cultivating is already more than enough." Dragun adviced.

He gave her a little more advice for the next five minutes above magic.

He was still explaining when a soft knock came at the door.

"Who is there? Come in."

Dragun was the one who responded.

'Could it be Rowan, he promised to return today.' Thought Riela.

She hoped it was her husband, leaving the past week without him was really tedious, she missed him a lot.

Unfortunately, it wasn't Rowan.

The door creaked open slowly, gradually revealing the person knocking — It was Vishirk.

"Oh Vishirk.. you're bac.." Dragun was about to welcome the person at the door when he noticed something was off.

Vishirk wasn't smiling as usual, instead he had an extremely hateful grin on his face and he was dressed in black robe, one that Dragun easily recognised, causing his eye to widen at once.

At that moment, lightning flashed in the sky and the night brightened for a few seconds revealing other men in the background dressed in dark robes.
